Band / group - singular/plural

Welcome to Wikipedia! You appear to be a little upset at my change of "are" to "is" in the Mondo Rock article. Irrespective of the argument of band or group being singular nor plural entities, surely you would agree that in any given article, there should be internal consistency. (I recently edited Eddy Current Suppression Ring for exactly this reason). Therefore when you left the Mondo Rock article reading as Mondo Rock are an Australian rock band... but then The band has reformed from time to time... you have assumed plural in the first instance yet singular in the second. So I was merely correcting that inconsistency.
More widely, you'll notice at the bottom of every editing page "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly ... do not submit it." I highly encourage your further contributions, but you may have to be prepared for your contributed content to be contested from time to time, certainly more significantly than I have!
