{{helpme}} They have blocked my account due to my ironkey personal security device not publishing my IP address. I use the ironkey at work because I do web-marketing and server logins etc.

Greetings Plumbago. I admire your manner of writing and wiki etiquette. My experiences so far with WKPA have been rather tragic, with my account getting deleted mysteriously, and then reinstated. I should work my way through more of the links you recommended. Psltaupo (talk) 20:12, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Help they've blocked my rights[edit]

I use an Ironkey personal security device for all my browsing which protects me from nasties. Apparently someone thinks I am a robot and has blocked me. The Ironkey personal is a legitimate device. My static IP is 203.97.51.90 and it's in NZ.Psltaupo (talk) 03:29, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are not blocked... not is the IP address you posted. Could you please elaborate on where "someone thinks [you] are a robot and has blocked [you]"?  fetchcomms 23:45, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

When using my ironkey device my IP is masked, and this led someone called ruyl or similar, to lock my account. I'm currently not using the key, and can now edit again. Thanks for your time. Psltaupo (talk) 03:03, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

i'm using an ironkey personal security device

Decline reason:

The Ironkey Personal Security device is using onion routing to conceal your true IP address, per this PC Magazine review. This means it works like Tor (anonymity network). Wikipedia users often find themselves unable to log in from IPs addresses that are Tor exit nodes, since these nodes are routinely blocked when they are discovered. See WP:Open proxies. It is expecting a lot to want us to change existing practices just to harmonize with Ironkey. We would in effect be granting WP:IPBE permission to anyone who will take the trouble to buy an Ironkey device. You yourself are free to edit and are not blocked unless you try to log in to Wikipedia through the anonymizing feature of the Ironkey. EdJohnston (talk) 01:45, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This blocked user's request to have autoblock on their IP address lifted has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request.

I see. The pervasive web-hacking and website virus phenomena may increase the dependence on locked devices for web browsing, which may eventually result in a rethink. Thanks for your explanation. Psltaupo (talk) 20:12, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has never been blocked from editing (see the this account's block log); however, the IP address you mention was blocked in 2008 as an open proxy (see that IP's block log) -- see Wikipedia:Open proxies for more information regarding that policy area. Are you perhaps connecting to Wikipedia via some anonymizing service? – Luna Santin (talk) 00:43, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your name has been mentioned in connection with a sockpuppetry case. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/7kingis for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to cases before editing the evidence page. Auntie E. (talk) 04:23, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This account can be deleted. I used it at work, not being an experienced wiki -editor.

Psltaupo (talk) 22:38, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We do not have the concept of deleting an account. For reasons of ther GFDL license we can't delete accounts, since their contributions to articles would be orphaned. If your preferred account is actually User:7kingis, just go ahead and use that account. You seem to be having some trouble with your edits at Uniformitarianism under the 7kingis account. I urge you to consider whether you are serious about continuing to edit Wikipedia, since I perceive you are in some trouble due to edit warring. If you can surmount your strong feelings about the Uniformitarianism article, you may be able to contribute here. EdJohnston (talk) 02:08, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
