Speedy deletion nomination of Section 52 of the Australian Constitution

Hello R1xhard,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Section 52 of the Australian Constitution for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Verdict78 (talk) 10:03, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

You are correct that your commentary was part of the problem, it was basically a personal opinion/interpretation/commentary that lacked independent verifiable sources. However, there are other problems:

  • the rest of the text is verbatim from its source. It is not clear that the Australian constitution is a public domain article. AFAIK only the US makes its publications PD. Although you can quote from a copyright document as part of your article, in this case your article consists entirely of the copied text once your comments are removed.
  • It's not clear that this clause (as opposed to the constitution as a whole) meets the notability guidelines. If it is controversial or otherwise notable, you should explain why and add independent verifiable sources to support the facts.

I appreciate that you were editing in good faith. I hope that my comments help, and that you will continue to edit Wikipedia. Let me know if you need help Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:47, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
