Manual edits of "Ref Section" and nomenclature for "Tahiya"[edit]

Hi Ratanmaitra, There references in the Ref section are wiki generated and one doesn't explicitly mention that out. You could see how the representation happens if one manually edits it. Even if you edit the section you would not be able to see any of the earlier contents i.e. 15 or more lines of info.

The websites that you had provided has been linked to the corresponding persons if you would have noticed.

Would also appreciate if you have any referential information or sources about "Tahiya" being an aberration for "Tiara".

Thanks. --Karan1974 (talk) 18:37, 26 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Swaraj[edit]

Please can you find another way to source your contribution to Swaraj. That political party is new and it is being almost spammed across numerous articles. The source that you provided is a link to a download page for a propaganda book on their website. Find an independent source and you'll likely be ok but doing it the way you did is just soapboxing/using Wikipedia for promotional purposes. If you want to discuss this further then I guess that the article talk page would be the best place. - Sitush (talk) 22:57, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Swaraj[edit]

The link is NOT to a propaganda book, if you had cared to check, but the book itself, "Swaraj - Power to the people", [1] It is a practical enunciation to 'decentralisation', empowering people, and has NOTHING to do with any political party/ideology, and is based on Swaraj of Gandhi in the modern context. That 'Swaraj' is accepted as the mission by Aam Aadmi Party is incidental. At the time of launch Arvind Kejriwal said "The book highlights the shortcomings of the current model of centralised governance and explains how the real rule of the people can be brought about.Swaraj (book)

I am reverting your 'delete' as I don't agree with you about it being a 'propaganda' material Ratanmaitra (talk)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Swaraj may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Swaraj (book). Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Sitush (talk) 23:39, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Contributions such as this are not helpful. For a start, we do not link an article to itself. More importantly, we require that statements are veriifable using reliable sources: you provide no source for the statement and it is in fact not correct. Sure, the AAP promote the concept of swaraj and Kejriwal is the national convenor of the AAP, but the AAP has not adopted his book as their manifesto and, indeed, has its own "agenda" as listed in the menu bar here. In your zeal to promote this anti-corruption messiah and his political party, you are overstepping a few marks and you are demonstrating the downsides that often come from someone operating as a single-purpose account.

It might be better if you spread your wings a little on Wikipedia rather than confine yourself to a narrow topic in which you quie obviously hold a fervent opinion: you'd learn a lot about how we operate if you moved around a bit, and you may be less likely to be exposed to controversial subjects such as this one. Once you have some experience, you will be in a better position to both understand what is going on with the AAP/Swaraj articles and to argue any point that you might want to make. Those articles are not going to disappear, and there is no deadline. - Sitush (talk) 23:53, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
