A cup of coffee for you![edit]

Hello. I hosted a class at Education Program:Consumer Reports/Wikipedia Volunteer Corps Course (winter 2015) and I just noticed that you added your name to the student list. The class ended in February even though I still follow up with the attendees. When you clicked the "enroll" button, did you have any particular expectations or desire? I might be able to direct you to something, but in retrospect, perhaps I should have turned enrollment off because the class is mostly over. Thanks for your attention. How did you even find this class? I know it is logged publicly but I hardly advertised it on-wiki. Blue Rasberry (talk) 15:54, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have unreviewed a page you curated[edit]

Hi, I'm Shrikanthv. I wanted to let you know that I saw the page you reviewed, 147th Regiment Royal Armoured Corps, and have un-reviewed it again. If you have any questions, please ask them on my talk page. Thank you. Shrikanthv (talk) 11:57, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but you can't use A7 (or 'significance' in Page Curation) there. It's not a person, an animal, web content or an event. A7 is limited in scope, and things not in that scope have to go to WP:PROD or WP:AFD. I'll try a prod on this one. Peridon (talk) 13:22, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Kwahu Easter[edit]

Hello Rberchie,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Kwahu Easter for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. TheLongTone (talk) 15:07, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Zalman Gradowski[edit]

Sorry you can't use a blp prod on Zalman Gradowski-the guy died in 1944 so its not a BLP. Wgolf (talk) 17:38, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Tetteh Plahar for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Tetteh Plahar is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tetteh Plahar (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Mabalu (talk) 18:25, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Tetteh Plahar[edit]

There is no evidence that this subject passes WP:Notability. I recognise that you have improved the article from the original version, but it is still very poorly sourced. To demonstrate his significance, you need:

  • Sources that actually talk about the subject, such as articles that discuss his work or evidence that he is notable.
  • Sources that are published by third party sources, and are not advertising material or press releases provided by the designer or his company.
  • For biographical articles about living people, there MUST be reliable sources to support all claims about them. It is policy that any article discussing a living person WITHOUT sourcing or evidence of notability must be deleted.
  • I see you know a lot about Tetteh Plahar. If you know him well enough to know all this, then you appear to have a close connection - which suggests a possible conflict of interest.
  • Alternatively, if you do not know Tettteh Flahar - where are you getting your information from? How do we know you are not making it all up? This is why we need all information on living people to be supported by cites or references.

I will also note - as I did in my deletion nomination - that I do not *want* to delete this article - but as it stands, thee is simply no evidence that he is notable. I saw your request on the Talk Page for this article to be moved to main space, and did so as a favour - mainly because it was in the wrong location anyway, but having done so, looked at it and realised it had problems. Instead of immediately requesting a speedy delete, I brought it to discussion to give it a chance to be considered by other editors.

Your best bet is to find sources - as described above - to show why and how this person is notable. Currently, there's no evidence for this beyond the single mention in the Top 100 list Mabalu (talk) 12:36, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I would recommend that you work on the article in your user space, at User:Rberchie/Tetteh Plahar and when you think you have sufficiently sourced it and it is fit to be seen again, please do ask me to take a look at it. For now, the page at Tetteh Plahar isn't really good enough to be in mainspace. One of the real problems with the article is that on the userpage version you mention articles such as "Tetteh Plahar back with fresh Fashion ideas" from the Graphic Mirror, but there's no link to the specific article, which means that we can't look it up to verify what it says. We need to be able to SEE the sources or at least verify that such an article exists. I had a search on the Graphic Mirror website but can't find that article or any mentions of Tetteh Plahar on there.Mabalu (talk) 15:23, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hello - the two sources you linked on my talk page are still very weak, as they are only passing mentions with no in-depth discussion of what Tetteh Plahar is doing. We really need stronger sources than this - there should be at least one REALLY in-depth article discussiing this designer's work and what makes him significant. Also, looking at the Sun link, it appears to be a tabloid newspaper with the same logo as The Sun, so is probably not considered a reliable source just as the UK newspaper (a notoriously sensationalist, bog standard publication known for publishing many lies and fabrications.) isn't. So unfortunately I'm not really convinced by either source - there are hints that Plahar is probably notable, but as I said, we need sources that actually talk about him, and don't just drop his name with no context or explanation. Mabalu (talk) 10:33, 19 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Some feedback to help with your NPP efforts[edit]

Hi Rberchie. Thanks for helping out with new page patrol. This is an area where we need dedicated volunteers such as yourself. I noticed that you added linkrot and uncategorised tags to Van Ness Feldman, but those are really minor issues compared with the spammy tone of the article and the poor sourcing. New articles from new editors frequently have a lot of faults, but generally we should add cleanup tags for the most important issues (spam, vandalism, copyright violations, notability and sourcing come to mind). I just thought I would give you this feedback with the hope that it helps. Cheers.- MrX 22:42, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

CSD[edit]

Hi Rberchie, you recently marked Jersey Motor Sport Circuit for deletion. I feel that at the very least, A1 does not apply. The section on A1 clearly states "Context is different from content" (emphasis not mine). Therefore, since you can understand what the article is about, a motor racing circuit on Jersey before the Second World War, A1 cannot apply. I appreciate that it is a stub, but the deletion template clearly states "lacking sufficient context to identify the subject of the article". The subject of the article can be identified. The CSD, therefore, is not applicable and I would appreciate its removal. Thanks, AmericanAbroard (talk) 15:58, 14 April 2015 (UTC) Thank you for removing the CSD. I agree with the tags you have added. Thanks, AmericanAbroard (talk) 16:04, 14 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on University of Ghana Medical School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.ugms.edu.gh/index.php/about-us/history-of-ugms. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Watch out for disambiguation pages at NPP[edit]

In this edit you labelled the article as stub, no lead, needs refs, etc. You didn't notice that it was a disambiguation page, to which all of those tags are irrelevant. It would be more useful to clean the page up a little - see its new version Cocotte. Just slow down a bit while doing NPP and watch out for disambiguation pages, which are never stubs and don't need references, but do sometimes need a bit of cleanup. Thanks. Kaakie[edit]

Hi, the previous page was a completely unsourced fan page written in a highly promotional tone. If you recreate, you need to

  • provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that she meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, or they will be deleted.
  • write in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic.
  • write in your own words. If you copy from elsewhere on the internet, it will be a copyright violation. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain.

Lighthouse Chapel International[edit]

Although we normally sandbox deleted text on request, that is not possible here. The text was entirely copied from the organisation's website and elsewhere, and for legal reasons we do no restore copyright infringing text.

In any case, the (unreferenced) text is so highly promotional it would be of little use. ...many lives are impacted on and transformed in countless ways. There is still more to be written about one man’s obedience to the call of God to be a vessel. The history of Lighthouse is still being written and until the Lord comes the vision will not change. To God be the glory and may His will be done in the existence of Lighthouse Chapel International falls some way short of neutral verifiable and encyclopaedic material. Yes, you can always create an article from scratch unless it is protected, but that is quite rare and doesn't apply to either page you have asked me about Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:22, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Keeping Wikipedia Expanding Not Shrinking[edit]

Delete canvassing bullshit. Zeke Essiestudy (talk) 04:50, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello User:Rberchie sorry for disturbing you. The reason I am writing you is we all love Wikipedia and we want it expanding. However there is a discussion going on to delete a notable game article because of biased opinions. I saw that you edited this article: Ib_(video_game) and let it stay for further expansion, update and keep growing Wikipedia even though it has only single reference. But I am also totally agree with you to let articles stay for improvements and expand Wikipedia. So I believe you are a neutral, professional, objective and who believes in expanding Wikipedia not shrinking it type of person. So I would like you to check out this discussion Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/MonsterMMORPG_(2nd_nomination) and make your comment based on references it has. References are here Talk:MonsterMMORPG. Please feel free to delete my message to you after you read it. Thank you very much have a nice day.176.233.41.152 (talk) 14:20, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback[edit]

Hi Rberchie. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 20:55, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Lighthouse Chapel International requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". refimprove and unref[edit]

Hallo, in this edit you added both {{refimprove}} and {{unref}}. They are incompatible. If an article has no refs, add {{unref}}. If it has one or more refs but needs more or better, use {{refimprove}}. Not both, please. Thanks. PamD 09:52, 16 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The article was listed for speedy deletion as showing no indication of significance, but speedy deletion under that criterion does not apply to schools. This is not however a degree granting secondary school or a degree-granting institution of higher education, which are almost always assumed to be notable, and I do not see that it is in fact notable by the ordinary criterion of WP:GNG. I therefore changed the speedy deletion tag to a Prod, proposed deletion. You are permitted to remove that tag by yourself, but if you do this without adding references providing substantial coverage from third-party independent reliable sources, not press releases or mere announcements, I or somebody is very likely to take it to WP:AFD for a community decision. ( Note theatthe ucrrent sources are not from a third party, but the sponsor and the school itself, and therefore not independent. ) If you can find such sourcea and add them, please do remove the tag to ensure it is not inadvertently deleted without consideration at the expiration of the prod.

Another option, and I think the best, is to add the contents to the article on Lighthouse Chapel International, and change the present article to a redirect. If you do that, of course remove the tag. I consider that the article on the denomination is sufficiently referenced that it is unlikely to be deleted. But it's hard to predict, and additional content always is beneficial. (and if it is challenged, and there is support for that challenge, then it can be further merged with the article on its Bishop).

Looking at other contributions, I would do the same for Qodesh (Lighthouse). I am fairly sure it does not have the content or references for a separate article. The principle is that it is better to have one istrong article than 3 weak ones. If I can help you with any of this, let me know. DGG ( talk ) 01:03, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I did the redirect for the Seminary. The text is in the history if you want to do a merge.

Proposed deletion of Qodesh (Lighthouse)[edit]

The article Qodesh (Lighthouse) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

insignificant building already covered in article; redirect would not be useful .

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. patrolling[edit]

Perhaps you have been patrolling a little too quickly. I've listed about 5 of the articles you've patrolled in the past week for deletion via prod, speedy or afd, mainly because there were no citations to indicate notability and it didn't seem they would be likely. Myself, even after 8 years of experience at this , I find if I do more than 8 or ten at a time, I start making errors--sometimes es listing too man yfor deletion, sometimes the other way round. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Hi Rberchie,

I'm aware that you patrolled Farooq Kperogi but the page is actually a blatant copyvio of this website. In the future when patrolling new pages, always ensure to check for possible copyvios before marking pages as reviewed, this is necessary because Wikipedia takes copyright infringement very seriously for legal reasons.
