I'm not sure if we'll have a chance at List of best-selling albums worldwide becoming FL. It looks like there's too many source-related problems with it. This isn't an easy list to improve. And we have yet to get a support, with the exception of you and me. But, it can't hurt to try, but we'd better be prepared to get new sources. Featured List

I've just given this a quick read, and I can see the problem. Good idea to use the RIAA figures, but using older sources is definitely going to be a problem for a FL. Every "i" needs dotting, every "t" crossing, and the sourcing must be impeccable for featured content. I've seen problems with these types of comparative lists before, and it is largely one of original research since it can't be possible to be sure that your sources cover a truly "worldwide" perspective; sales are usually pretty well-documented, however. Not sure where you'd go with that one. Obviously you can discount markets such as Albania, but figures for larger countries such as Germany & Australia may be less easy to find. It's also important that sales are over comparable time periods, which makes the old sources a problem. An example of this is sales by Nick Drake, whose records sold most about thirty years after his death. Yes, the themes section is just plain naff. I'm sensing a forced POV in both directions. Perhaps it could just discuss his different styles. IE:

"Jackson worked with Disco, funk and Soul on Off the wall, Funk, rock and pop on Thriller, more modern hip hop influences were present in Dangerous in the New Jack Swing style"

It would all require sourcing or changing to whatever a few books on the subject have to say. I'm working on getting somebody to make a program or script so you can just type the author and book into a dialogue and it comes up with the ref tag for you. Have you noticed how complicated sourcing is at the moment? No wonder the newbies don't do it. I barely manage it myself, it's too complicated! Are you suggesting you write the content and I alter it for language flow then? Sounds fine. Which sources are you planning on using? I will endevour to obtain any books required. As for the degree, I'm doing one. It's much easier to cite books in MS Word using the software the university provides. I type Author into the author box, title into the title box, page number, the ISBN into the ISBN box, then hit store. It's so easy. Then I just type in a new page number for the diferent pages. It takes me seconds. Wikipedia has crap tools for its embattled contributors (With constant attacks at us, we are all constantly on edge, making attacks against others ourselves out of frustration). Frankly how Wiki can take sourcing seriously when there is no easy tool to use to create citation tags is a complete mystery to me. --Manboobies (talk) 21:24, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

You'll recieve an invitation to work on the mind map with me. You click on the main topic in the middle and hit subtopic to make a new bubble. Then drag it around. Themes on the left, genres on the right. Yeah, we should keep an eye on her official site (the Island Records one is much better than janetjackson.com, which is entirely impossible to navigate and learn anything). The Island Records site has not been updated since March 5, but apparently she announced it today on the Ellen show. It may take a few more days for the really reliable stuff to catch up, but looking at the volume of blogs and other sites reporting this, it is quite likely a real deal. Hard Candy (Madonna album)

So, I bought the new Madonna album last night and I was kinda disapointed. With the exception of 4 minutes and The Devil Wouldn't Recognize You, i think this was her least impressive album. I wanted to talk with you about the comments at that page. I know we are disagreeing there, you put more stock than me in WP:AGF, which is very commendable and respectable. I apparently put more stock in WP:DUCK than you. Regardless of the outcome of a checkuser, if there is one, I'm not holding a grudge against Xp54321 and nobody else will either. You'll notice that only about three editors ever commented on the page. I would appreciate you not slinging mud at me when I talked about a potential sockpuppet on a sockpuppet case page. You'll notice that other editors were voicing the same opinion regarding the evidence as me with this edit, this edit, and this edit, all from different users, but I don't see you running around bashing them. Please refrain from ad hominem comments, such as my judgment lapsing, when we're having a civil discussion about sockpuppetry. If there weren't people on both sides of a discussion, there wouldn't be a discussion at all. I hope we can just put this disagreement behind us and get back to improving the encyclopedia. Hey. I talked to Xp54321 about his signature, and he directed me to you, the designer of his signature. I think it's the orange in his signature is a bit too bright (similar to yours). Seems my account has been deleted...even if it remains, I can't recall the password. I would just like to point out that the anonymous user who engaged in an edit war with me had obviously confused me with a double-ID user, someone named Keetoowah. That person has a beef with Keetoowah and went after my edits thinking they originated from Keetoowah.

It's a bunch of nonsense, and I really took issue with my good faith edits getting the same harsh verbal treatment as a petty vandalism edits out of spite.

Further proof of his bad intent is found in the fact that he removed my citation of Mark Levin's habit of playing patriotic music on his show by citing his audio archives (a reliable source for the factual statement, no?), and did so because it was "advertising"...yet he let stand another edit ON THE VERY SAME PAGE that cited the audio archives (and cited a specific date which has since been cycled off the archives page). The blatant double-standard he exhibited speaks volumes to motive.

I'm just going to use Wiki as a psuedo-resource, and make the occasional anonymous non-political edit when I feel my vast knowledge of useless information might be of use for the greater good. Politics turns people into [insert bad word of your choice here]'s, and I got better things to do than cyber-battle with such people.

I will, however, make one last politically themed edit in the near future, to Mark Levin's page. I'm still resentful that mention of his worthy charity was scrubbed by anonymous as "advertising", and I think it's only fair, decent, and within the standards of Wikipedia to include this information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.191.109.203 (talk) 22:33, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

WP:WQA report

It was marked resolved by the time I got there. I'll try and keep an eye. With a case that cut-and-dry, you shouldn't need much help :D The tricky things to deal with on WP:WQA are when both parties are kindof being assholes about it, and it's difficult to tease out whether there are any clear-cut policy violations.

An editor who mentions the "homosexual agenda" in almost every talk page comment is not going to get much sympathy around Wikipedia, ha ha ha.

Oh, and, I am sorry to descend to the level of stereotyping, but I have to admit that it is freaking hilarious that this guy is militantly anti-gay and way into professional wrestling. I mean... heh. Could it be any more obvious??? hahaha... --Jaysweet (talk) 17:45, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

The reason they are treading lightly, I think, is because 1) while he has pushed the boundaries of half a dozen policies, it's hard to say he outright broke any -- he was just expressing his opinion, which happens to be extraordinarily ignorant and highly offensive to a lot of folks, but it's still his opinion; and 2) he does have a number of positive contributions as well.

I hear you, though, about dealing with that stuff. I just don't understand how someone could feel like that, but oh well.. --Jaysweet (talk) 17:57, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
