Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 03:14, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Racing driver infoboxes[edit]

Hi RegalZ8790. Please don't remove the "Formula One World Championship career" sections from racing driver infoboxes. By all means add a "Champ Car career" section, but please don't remove the existing "Formula One World Championship career" section. Thanks. DH85868993 (talk) 09:45, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, DH85868993,
I am sorry. I am still learning about Wikipedia and its rules.
Please see Rodger Ward and Jim Clark for examples of some of the information boxes I have formatted. I have tried to be judicious and enjoy working on them because they allow readers at a glance to understand the extent of a driver's career. Please let me know if you think they are problematic.
RegalZ8790 (talk) 00:44, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi RegalZ8790. No worries. Everyone has to learn. The infoboxes at Rodger Ward and Jim Clark look just fine. Regards. DH85868993 (talk) 05:08, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from 2023 IndyCar Series into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Sorry for the template, but this was the easiest way for me to point this out. It's a really easy thing to miss. I have provided the attribution in the edit history already as well. Thanks and keep up the good work. :) "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (talk)  16:55, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ahh, okay, I'll mind this in the future. Thank you! RegalZ8790 (talk) 03:47, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@DH85868993 and @Doctorindy,

I am working on improving articles for post-war Indianapolis 500 winners. Would the two of you look at the WDC section of Rose's page and offer comment? I want to clarify the relationship of the 500 to the WDC calendar, as well as clarify that there has never been a podium recognized/awarded by IMS at the 500, but that FIA records recognize top-three finishes as such.

I am pinging the two of you as editors I recognize as quite knowledgeable on this topic, and I welcome any comments and suggestions.

Thanks. RegalZ8790 (talk) 01:57, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi RegalZ8790. I made a couple of minor grammatical edits to Mauri Rose#World Drivers' Championship career summary but apart from that it looks fine to me (better than before you edited it). Regards. DH85868993 (talk) 08:27, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Good to know. Thank you for checking it. RegalZ8790 (talk) 01:58, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bullet lists / Harry Hartz[edit]

Per MOS:LISTBULLET, "Do not use lists if a passage is read easily as plain paragraphs." Also when a "list" consists of one item. Clarityfiend (talk) 23:35, 10 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I understand now. Thank you for connecting me with the relevant guideline.

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:53, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for January 5[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jerry Wunderlich (racing driver), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bloomfield, Illinois. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:02, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your contributions to List of 1905 motorsport champions. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 02:49, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Indy 500 / WDC[edit]

Hi, drivers were not credited with points for participating. They had to finish in the top five. Your wording implies that all they had to do to earn points was compete. It also implies they were "credited with participation" which seems superfluous. Also, "accumulated zero points" is, at best, terrible English. You can't accumulate nothing. There seems no point in mentioning that a driver scored no points, but if you must, please use better language. Bretonbanquet (talk) 17:56, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
I sent you a message at about the same time. If you want to suggest the changes, Wikipedia:WikiProject Motorsport would be the place to do it.
Thanks,

Ways to improve Ray Campbell (racing driver)[edit]

Hello, RegalZ8790,

Thank you for creating Ray Campbell (racing driver).

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Accepting that WP:NMOTORSPORT indicates that having qualified for Indianapolis 500 usually means that there is sufficient coverage, but this isn't a guarantee of notability. Are there other sources?

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Klbrain}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.
