Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Reza Pahlavi appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe this important core policy. Thank you. Hairhorn (talk) 00:43, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Could you please be specific about which contribution appears to be non-neutral? Will be happy to address.RezaPahlavi (talk) 23:11, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Wikipedia. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Hairhorn (talk) 03:36, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I probably removed the maintenance template in error, not being familiar with the code. Did you replace it or can you provide it? RezaPahlavi (talk) 23:11, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your addition to Reza Pahlavi has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. (text copied from http://www.greatertalent.com/RezaPahlav)i

This is the bio I recently wrote and gave permission to Greater Talent to use. I own the rights to it, and they are using by my permission. It is my right to put the same material - written by me - on my page, correct? Do you have the capability to restore the text I input or must I type it again?

Also, could you please explain how I obtain protection, or semi-protection for my page? Many thanks. RezaPahlavi (talk) 23:48, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your addition to Yasmine Pahlavi has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. Hi. The biography I copied and pasted is from my own foundation (please see the link and you will see my image). The biography was originally created by me and is used with my permission. Therefore I should be able to use here on Wikipedia for my own bio, correct? RezaPahlavi (talk) 23:13, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have re-reverted your additions. If you genuinely own the copyright to this text, you must go through the procedure for copyright permissions (see wp:copyrights), anyone can claim to own copyright, ownership has to be demonstrated. Also, "born" and "former" say very different things. Cheers. Hairhorn (talk) 17:27, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:The_Deciding_Hour.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:The_Deciding_Hour.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. feydey (talk) 11:44, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I own the copyright for use and re-use of both the content of the book and the book cover image. I have noted that in the licensing section. Thank you. RezaPahlavi (talk) 23:44, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User name[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, RezaPahlavi, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it is that of a well-known person. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. feydey (talk) 11:47, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Biographies of living people[edit]

Due to the potential for misunderstandings, I've posted a request at WP:BLPN#Reza Pahlavi for additional attention by other editors on the biographies of Reza Pahlavi and Yasmine Pahlavi.   Will Beback  talk  01:52, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Simply call my Secretariat's office at <redacted> to confirm identity, and that these changes are being made by me. It would seem that people have been mostly respectful and accurate in their prior edits, but I would rather the Wikipedia record for my wife and I be as complete and accurate as possible. I do appreciate your cautious approach, but as I say, feel free to confirm identity. Thank you. RezaPahlavi (talk) 02:11, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't work that way, you have to contact Wikipedia via OTRS - see the process set out at WP:IOWN for copyright releases and at WP:BIOSELF to confirm identity. You may also want to contact WP:OVERSIGHT to have your contact details deleted from this page - I have redacted them for now. – ukexpat (talk) 02:18, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. My Secretariat will take care of this. Also, my contact details are a matter of public record and on my official website, so I have no problem with them being public. However, I do appreciate your cautious attention. Regards. RezaPahlavi (talk) 02:21, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of Interest Editing[edit]

Please take note of this section of Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest

If you are, indeed, Reza Pahlavi, then your edits and those of your sockpuppets are considered a conflict of interest and will be reverted.

Multiple edits will be considered either an edit war or vandalism. PR (talk) 18:37, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:The Deciding Hour.jpg[edit]

However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.

Are you the Reza Pahlavi ?[edit]

Per WP:REALNAME: Do not edit under the name of a well-known living person unless it is your real name, and you either are that well-known person or you make it clear that you are not. Such usernames may be blocked as a precaution.

You are welcome to use your real name, but please prove you are who you say you are. You can do this by sending an e-mail to info-en@wikimedia.org; be aware that the volunteer response team that handles e-mail is operated entirely by volunteers, and an immediate reply may not be possible.

Please email the team above to prevent this account from being blocked.

Thank you.  7  01:49, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

October 2010[edit]

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, RezaPahlavi, matches the name of a well-known living individual. Note that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated; not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.  7  07:28, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
