Felicitas Goodman's book on Anneliese Michel and Exorcism of Emily Rose

Hi there, I was wondering whether you could provide a reliable source for saying that her book influenced the film Exorcism of Emily Rose. Since it concerns mainly with the it, I think it really needs a reference and is of course relevant there. Hello Ugog Nizdast,

My addition is based on the information in the English Wikipedia Felicity Goodman's Biography (which information I did not place over there). Of course her book could be added at the 'Further reading' section, but I think Goodman should be credited as the original author in the article itself. The film being only roughly or loosely based on Goodman's original tragedy, is no reason to conceal it's source/predecessor. Referring to predecessors is easily forgotten these days, where many live in the delusion of 'authenticity' or 'originality', and believe to have invented the wheel anew.

If you agree, leave it be. I don't know how to do that more than I did already with placing an internal link to the lemma Felicitas Goodman. But if you don't agree you are free to undo my addition. I'm not attached to my changes at Wikipedia at all. I just drop them, that's it. I don't like Wikipedia-discussions, especially in 'tongues' not my own. ;)

Hehe, but surely you know about our policy on verifiability...all you need to do is cite a reliable source. I've done a little background research on this myself and found that Goodman's book is a quite popular one regarding Michel--it's already there in the Further reading section on her page.

However regarding its influence on the film, her page is entirely unsourced and I've tagged it. I did a basic Google search and couldn't find much to support it, even the Amazon page on this book does not mention it. Both the film and the book were released/published in 2005 so personally, I'm a little doubtful about this statement. Since the references provided on the film and Michel's page mention it being based on her life only, I've split up the statement and tagged it. Good day, Ugog Nizdast (talk) 18:15, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
