Disambiguation link notification for September 27

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Guns N' Roses, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Joe Perry. Appetite For Destruction Page

Hey RF, do you know why there isn't any proper reception section for this page? Theres no ratintgs/scores/reviews like there are for most albums' pages.

No idea, but if I had to guess, an editor removed them at some point. With some older albums, the review score tables aren't as useful because letter/ number grades aren't assigned as much as they are now, and the reviews are better summed up in prose, which the article currently does a nice job of. Your edit to Guns N' Roses

Hi Ringerfan23, I wanted to let you know that I reverted a recent edit of yours, and explain why. In British English, it is proper to treat a "plural entity" such as a band as a plural noun, and use plural-number verbs when writing about it. However, this is not the case in American English, which is the correct English to use in articles about American groups such as Guns N' Roses. So it's a British band are, but an American band is. See also the National varieties of English section of the Manual of Style. Thanks for your contributions, and thanks in advance for respecting use of American English on articles about American subjects in future. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 08:11, 22 October 2015 (UTC) (originally posted elsewhere in error)

And I reverted it, and referred to both the Guns N' Roses archives and the post WP:Teahouse/Questions#I see a big mistake I can't change. Where I explained the relevance of the singular/plural - Arjayay (talk) 09:23, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
Arjayay, as I said at the Teahouse, my reading of the referenced talk page discussion was that the consensus was in favor of "Guns N' Roses is", which also seems to be correct grammatically for US English. And as I also said at the Teahouse, it is perhaps time to revisit the talk page and have another discussion there, since multiple users have different views of which language should be used and valid reasons for their positions. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 14:05, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

Ringerfan23 is being reported for Edit war and vandalism

Despite continued efforts to resolve the issue of placing errorneous content on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Pitman, Ringerfan23 is being reported for == Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion == Information icon Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you.

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

Definition of the three-revert rule (3RR) An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Violations of the this rule normally attract blocks of at least 24 hours. Any appearance of gaming the system by reverting a fourth time just outside the 24-hour slot is likely to be treated as a 3RR violation.

Not including The Beautiful as an "Associated Act" on Guns N' Roses Wiki page

Hi Ringerfan23-

So it is unacceptable to include The Beautiful as an "Associated Act" for Guns N' Roses (a band that G n' R drummer Frank Ferrer was a member of for several years, played on 2 recordings, toured with, etc.), but it is acceptable to list Metallica as an Associated Act, for the mere reason that G n' R and Metallica did ONE TOUR together?

Thanks, Goongunther

Yes. Metallica and GNR co-headlined a tour. If we were to include every band that had at least one member of GNR in it, the infobox would have about 100 artists listed. RF23 (talk) 19:13, 5 April 2016 (UTC)

Edgerrin James

I have explicit instructions from his publicist (and documentation can be provided by Mr. James to prove this) to change his photo, which I did, but you changed it back to an old photo stating copyright infringement. The other photo, unless submitted by the photographer that took the photo, falls under the same rules. The photo I used was derived from ESPN, who issues this statement about photos and other media on their site via their user policy: We do not claim ownership to your User Generated Content; however, you grant us a non-exclusive, sublicensable, irrevocable and royalty-free worldwide license under all copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, privacy and publicity rights and other intellectual property rights to use, reproduce, transmit, print, publish, publicly display, exhibit, distribute, redistribute, copy, index, comment on, modify, adapt, translate, create derivative works based upon, publicly perform, make available and otherwise exploit such User Generated Content, in whole or in part, in all media formats and channels now known or hereafter devised (including in connection with the Disney Services and on third-party sites and platforms such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter), in any number of copies and without limit as to time, manner and frequency of use, without further notice to you, with or without attribution, and without the requirement of permission from or payment to you or any other person or entity.

So by them distributing users photos, unless it is watermarked by ESPN, they do not claim ownership to the photo and I should be able to change the picture. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trooklyn (talkcontribs) 13:29, 11 July 2016 (UTC)

Could you please try to exercise more care in your editing, especially to a Featured article? You added an uncited statement to Nine Inch Nails, a Featured article, then introduced information into the infobox which is either unsubstantiated in the prose or not even mentioned at all in the prose. You also added a citation without paying attention to the citation style in use in the article, introducing a bare reference instead of a properly formatted citation. --Laser brain (talk) 15:47, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
