April 2024[edit]

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to University of Dundee appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Mariam Nanyunja Kiggundu needs ideally an article of her own before you can add her, but definitely a reference supporting attendance at Dundee. Tacyarg (talk) 11:56, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and good afternoon. Yes, I wondered whether to include her in the list or not. Certainly I can (and will) add a citation supporting her attendance at Dundee Uni, she is first listed here: https://www.dundee.ac.uk/cepmlp/our-graduates
I will add the citation now. I was not planning to add a stand-alone article about her. Happy to delete her entry entirely if that is better.
Many thanks, Roberto RobertoFanfuli (talk) 15:28, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, that's fine with me if you add a reference. If you add her as a redlink, that is putting double square brackets around her name as if wikilinking to an article about her, someone may see it in the Women in Red project and create an article about her. Looks as if she is probably notable. Thanks, Tacyarg (talk) 15:32, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. Unfortunately none of my changes to the University of Dundee webpage seem to be there anymore. That includes not just for Mariam for but also for other alumni all of which are notable since they already have their own Wikipedia pages, including a government Minister. So, and as a newbie here, I am not sure what is going on. All the best, Roberto RobertoFanfuli (talk) 15:37, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I'm so sorry, that was my fault - I went back to an earlier version of the article by mistake. Thank you for letting me know. I've returned it to the version after your edits now, if you could put the reference in. Best wishes, Tacyarg (talk) 16:47, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No worries and many thanks :-) RobertoFanfuli (talk) 16:58, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. Good evening. I've added the citation as discussed. RobertoFanfuli (talk) 17:05, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. After a number of false attempts I have now got the hang of the red link, and one is now included for Mariam at this bullet point. Thanks for your pointer on this. RobertoFanfuli (talk) 17:36, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
