License tagging for Image:Hitachilogo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hitachilogo.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Commercial use of Image:U106.gif[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:U106.gif, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:U106.gif is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:U106.gif itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 02:47, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:EX5500.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:EX5500.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rjgodoy 05:42, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:UH03.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:UH03.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Unspecified source for Image:AH400.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AH400.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:33, 3 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jusjih 01:33, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I thought you might want to take a look at the Manual of Style with relation to wikilinking. Currently, Hitachi Construction Machinery seems to be very overlinked--a good rule of thumb is to only link to words that are clearly related to your subject...so compact excavators would be a good choice to link and people and world are not necessarily to be linked to. Thanks for taking a look, and otherwise the article is very informative!--Xnuala (talk)(Review) 00:45, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:Hitachilogo.jpg[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Hitachilogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:47, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Hitachi Construction Machinery, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. RobDe68 02:23, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spam deletion[edit]

I'm taking notice of the above warnings and deleting many of the articles you created which are quite clearly promotional in nature. I am also going to delete most of the images you uploaded because they have been tagged as released in the public domain whereas they most clearly are not and are simply taken from Hitachi's website. This is not a personal crusade against Hitachi but advertising is unacceptable on Wikipedia. Thank you, Pascal.Tesson 02:28, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

your article creation[edit]

A tag has been placed on Hitachi Construction Machinery, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. HCM article[edit]

Hello. This is a somewhat complicated situation. I have to agree that the main article was not so bad and it probably wouldn't have suffered the same fate had you not been the creator of a dozen other pages related to the company's products and which most clearly were written as or copied from advertisements. I have to assume that you work for the company's public relations because your edits have clearly shown an effort to promote the company. All the images which you uploaded were taken directly from the company's website and in some cases in resolutions which were higher than the ones available on the website which means that you probably have access to pictures not available to the general public. Moreover, you tagged all these pictures as if you were the owner of the images. Nevertheless, these pictures are still copyright (as clearly indicated on the website) and Hitachi can't have it both ways: if it wants these pictures on Wikipedia it will have to announce on the website that these pictures are released under GFDL.

Now back to the main problem: as an employee of this corporation, you are under a conflict of interest when writing the article. This is not an ideal situation as I'm sure you can appreciate and it is difficult to hope that you will be able to maintain a neutral point of view in the article. Moreover, Wikipedia is not a place where public relations departments can find free ad-space. Of course there probably should be an article about the company on Wikipedia because it is fairly well-known and there probably are plenty of reliable third-party sources to cite when writing about it. I'm afraid however that we'd need to find editors unrelated to Hitachi in order to write this up properly.

Best, Pascal.Tesson 01:40, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. As you can probably appreciate, Wikipedia's coverage of businesses always faces this complex problem. The first key to a good article is one or more dedicated editors willing to spend time to move the article forward but we also need them to have an independence from their subject. Of course, there is and always will be people from big companies that keep a close eye on the article and many such articles have recurrent problems of objectivity that unfortunately undermine Wikipedia's core objectives. It is a complex fight and I'm sure Wikipedia hasn't yet found the best solutions to win it. But in cases such as yours, it's tempting to overreact and throw the baby out with the baby water. Personally, I'd rather have no article than one whose objectivity I'm not confident about. Best, Pascal.Tesson 02:58, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:200LC.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:200LC.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. MER-C 06:47, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:TsuchiuraLogo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:TsuchiuraLogo.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.
