Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 06:53, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Taylor Swift[edit]

Saw your note on Burpelson AFBs talk page. It looks like it's been protected since last November, which seems awfully long. I will request unprotection. <>Multi‑Xfer<> (talk) 07:06, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Likely there was an unusual flurry of activity last November due to the Kanye West/Taylor Swift incident at the VMAs. I agree - to keep a page protected for three months is awfully long. In terms of public interest, that incident is water well under the bridge.RodeoDriver (talk) 22:58, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

p.s. I don't know what is Burpelson AFBs talk page, but, just revisiting the site I see the offending article remains fully protected, and it's more dishonest than ever before. It's really a mockery of a bio. Surely one of the people who is allowed to edit the page has enough wits about them to do something to improve the credibility of the article. Dude, with all due respect, next time, don't change the title of an existing section, unless the existing title is offensive and you're trying to amend it. Second, new messages go to the bottom of the section, unless you're replying to someone. 24.189.90.68 (talk) 09:32, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, the title seemed more narrow than the context which seems relevant - but, the original one is certainly not offensive. Perhaps when there is more discussion, a new section will then be warranted. As for writing at the top or bottom, sorry about that, there did not seem an obvious pattern, but, that too is likely due to this being a small amount of content so far. Sounds good! !!!

yup, doing that as often as I can/remember! and, if I miss it the first time, I add the tildes asap RodeoDriver (talk) 10:35, 16 May 2010 (UTC) - but, I see, sometimes I only add three, not four RodeoDriver (talk) 10:35, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

crazedhits.com spamming[edit]

I have put a request for temporary page protection, which can be used to prevent anonymous edits where more than one IP address is involved. Hopefully the spammers will get the message on not return (the crazed hits one, and the one that keeps putting a fansite in the External links section). --Pontificalibus (talk) 21:44, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Pontificalibus. Not knowing where is most appropriate to respond, you'll also find a brief message on your own page. Please excuse the duplication. And, thanks very much for your note and explanation re the spammers, anonymous IPs. Some of the folks trying to do what they do, yes, will hopefully be deterred and find other interests. The fellow at CrazedHits.com, I'm starting to sense his financial or relationship interests to those involved may result in him persisting, and looking for new ways to achieve his end. We'll see. It's a welcome protection you've put in place. Cheers! RodeoDriver (talk) 21:57, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
