Bot issues[edit]

Thanks for contacting. Im actually not an administrator. It seems to me that the have a bot gone wild. it added the link again after you reverted it. Its also a fairly new bot so the user may not fully know how to operate it effectively yet. the other bot apparently is doing the same thing to other wiki pages as well. you can get more info on bots here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Bot_owners%27_noticeboard

As from what i can tell if its very disruptive a block could be possible so you would probably need to get the attention of an admin here;

hope these links help, take care Ottawa4ever (talk) 18:30, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User page[edit]

Hello, Ronewirl. You may or may not be aware that there is a currently a discussion on the help desk regarding your user page. It seems to me that it is inappropriate material for a user page on Wikipedia, as it relates neither to Wikipedia nor to you as an individual. I notice a couple of points in WP:UP#What may I not have on my user page? that I think are relevant, specifically "Wikipedia is not a soapbox" and "Advertising or promotion of a business, organization, or group unrelated to Wikipedia". I appreciate that the content you have put on there is very important to you, but that does not mean that it is necessarily appropriate to an encyclopaedia. --ColinFine (talk) 21:04, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I just got your message today. Who was offended by my userpage? Is it the sole purpose of Wikipedia to promote knowledge, as so many youngsters today from around the world have easily and quickly discovered? Had my Userpage contained intimate details about Satan instead, would Wikipedia find the same to be just as offensive? Ronewirl (talk) 06:09, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Nowhere did either I, or the other contributors to the discussion on the Help desk, use the words 'offend' or 'offensive', nor was I discussing the purpose of Wikipedia. I (and others) suggested that the contents of your user page contravene the guidelines I identified on WP:UP. This is not because of the specific cause you are advocating, but because of the fact that your user page is entirely devoted to advocacy unrelated to Wikipedia. (Incidentally the Help Desk discussion I linked to above has now been archived, and is to be found here). --ColinFine (talk) 13:31, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. It's nearly two weeks on, and your user page does not appear to be any more consistent with the guidelines. Please will you review these and edit your user page to follow them .--ColinFine (talk) 00:10, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As you haven't made any changes to your page to bring it in line with the guidelines, I have now nominated it for deletion. --ColinFine (talk) 18:33, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

MfD nomination of User:Ronewirl[edit]

User:Ronewirl, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Ronewirl and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Ronewirl during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Netalarmtalk 19:09, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Does everyone know what you're talking about? I wonder. To summarize: I'm an American, born-again Christian. Once upon a time, my userpage content was about what born-again Christians believe in. The Wikipedia community had a problem with its content, so my userpage was deleted in its entirety. Nice people aren't they? I wouldn't stand too close to them if I were you. Just kiddin - but then, I'm not the almighty God. Ronewirl (talk) 04:38, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Ronewirl. I see you have a new User page, containing a short statement what you believe. Even though I do not share your beliefs, I agree that your new page is entirely within the spirit and letter of Wikipedia's rules. --ColinFine (talk) 23:55, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You're not the only one. I would guess that there are 4 billion people out there who share your beliefs too. Why is it so hard to believe who Jesus is? Jesus never took up arms; never declared war on the Romans; never issued an order to end the life of another human being. I'm not a Biblical historian nor an archeologist, but I'm a scientist by training and always look for evidence to support an argument. What is so bad about Jesus? Ronewirl (talk) 02:59, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Who said there was anything bad? I try to live by many of the principles that Jesus taught. But for me the null hypothesis is that "God" doesn't correspond to anything in the real world. (I suspect that neither of us is going to convince the other) --ColinFine (talk) 23:49, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

MfD nomination of User:Ronewirl (2)[edit]

User:Ronewirl, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Ronewirl (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Ronewirl during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Sven Manguard Wha? 02:57, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

to be frank, your nomination to delete my userpage is a personal attack. Ronewirl (talk) 05:06, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps, a Wikipedia administrator can help with this issue. Sven Manguard may not be aware of the Wikipedia ettiquettes. Ronewirl (talk) 05:13, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
One, I am about to restore the MfD, two, it was not a personal attack, and three, policy is against you in this matter. Please refer to my talk page for additional details. Sven Manguard Wha? 05:16, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
An administrator should look into this and as to why Sven Manguard finds my userpage offensive. Ronewirl (talk) 05:30, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, I don't find this offensive, I find it a possible policy violation, and there is a difference. As to administrators investigating this, two have already weighed in at the MfD, and I suspect that as time goes on, more will. Sven Manguard Wha? 05:46, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Since I don't really know what the root cause of this, I've suggested arbitration to set the rules right. Ronewirl (talk) 05:49, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And I have explained how Arbitration is infeasible at this time (at the MfD). I have also explained the root cause of this (at the MfD). At this point, we should probably move all discussion over to the MfD, since everything here is a duplicate of everything there at this point. Sven Manguard Wha? 05:53, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

{{mfdx|2nd}} If the person requesting deletion is who I think it is, ... rest assure, this individual does not believe you and other editors here in Wikipedia are qualified enough to write about religion or any other types of belief systems. You and the others (whether atheist or not) are being suckered into this person's own belief system. Take heed. Don't say you were not warned ahead of time. Ronewirl (talk) 14:39, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the above from my userpage. The person who initiated it is a prick who arbitrarily placed it here in my userpage. If you were to look at his/her userpage, you will see that he/she too has a belief system with religious undertone. And since based on my experience with Wikipedia, it thrives on debates and conflict especially when it's BLEEP .vs. BLEEP; Godzilla against Longcat. So, if it's a battle this BLEEP wants, then a battle that BLEEP will receive - Hey, I DIDN'T START THIS! Ronewirl (talk) 14:54, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And I have restored it. The tag must stay on the page until the mfd is completed. Please also see WP:NPA and WP:AGF. --OnoremDil 14:56, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The MfD has been withdrawn. A full explanation is available at the bottom of the MfD page. Please do not ever contact me again, on this or any other issue. Sven Manguard Wha? 21:11, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ditto - no joke. Ronewirl (talk) 15:15, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Copy of former deleted userpage[edit]

The former version of my userpage which was deleted has been recreated outside of Wikipedia and can be found here. Ronewirl (talk) 03:17, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
