Cedomir Jovanovic[edit]

Hello

I've noticed that you have added info that Čedomir Jovanović is of Roma origin. As far as I know this information is false and this article has already been locked once because of one user persistently inserting claim that he is of Roma origin. If you can provide evidence for your claims I would be more than happy to allow it to stay, but since I am from Serbia and know guy quite well I do not believe it, at least without some proof. I have nothing against Roma people but in a same way you can say that he is a Swede. It is baseless. So, I've removed it from an article. I hope you understand.

All the best--Trigor 20:48, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the answer. I apologies in any case for not studying the changes thoroughly but since last vandalism string we had was pretty relentless I wanted to react quickly. You can see discussion page for more details. By the way I would ask you for a favor. Since Wikipedia article you have listed states he is a of Roma origin can you ask that user to provide you a source and if he does that you pass it over to me. Thanks. If not I hope that you will as a decent Wikipedia user you are amend the article to exclude unchecked and if you believe me baseless informations. Thanks --Trigor 11:04, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pondicherry University[edit]

I noted the change of title you made to the article 'Pondicherry University'. Has the name of the university changed to 'Puducherry University'. I think, name of the university remains 'Pondicherry University' even though name of the place changed. --bijoalex 10:29, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GayFest references[edit]

It would be nice if English translations for Romanian news article titles could be provided. Regards. Circeus 03:46, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Tomorrow, I'l probably go and covert them to Cite templates. Circeus 04:10, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I converted everything except the Pravda and Nadiafax links, because they were inaccessible. The Journalul title also lacks a translation (I think it's because it was added after I made the above comment), and I commented out the last ref because it seemed to have an improper url or something. It linked to the program for 2006. Circeus 21:21, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

FWIW, I've more or less volunteered to correspond with him and to pass through (by one means or another) substantive remarks, but I've made it clear that I will not pass through insults, etc. If we want to do something formally, the right thing would probably be to start an RFC in which we could discuss that his conduct, while still not perfect, seemed to be generally better the last few months, etc. I don't think Wikipedia does itself any favors when someone who has mostly reformed is punished for previous conduct. And I think it is important that none of this was about intellectual dishonesty. - Jmabel | Talk 07:12, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Naming conventions (geographic names)[edit]

sal.

am revenit pe wikipedia, si primul lucru pe care lam facut a fost sa incerc sa solutzionez problema Talk:Harghita County topicul Wikipedia:Naming conventions (geographic names) din paginile despre Counties of Romania. am sters numele magyare ale diviziunilor administrative ale regatului magyar trecute ca nume alternative pt numele diviziunilor administrative ale Romaniei in paragraful de inceput, in conformitate cu conventziile stabilite de wikipedia. Wikipedia:Naming conventions (geographic names)

RE: Johnny Lee Clary - Please help[edit]

Hey there, my name is Nick, my username is Potters house and I have encountered a problem with trying to provide any information about Johnny Lee Clary. I have posted this post off to other staff members also. I am not sure if this is the best route to resolve this, but can think of no other way.

The article Johnny Lee Clary has been deleted. I have known Johnny through telephone conversations and email for a short time now (about 3-4 months). He recently came and shared his life story in for our church group for the first time just two weeks ago. Before I met Johnny I became interested in his story i.e. his conversion from the head of the KKK in the US, to being a Christian Minister who now teaches against race hate groups. I found the article Johnny Lee Clary as it still is today, deleted, except for some small talk. If you read the talk you see what I have said at the time (notice I have gotten no reply, probable my fault as I don’t know heaps about WIKI policy). From my understanding Johnny Lee Clary was posting as The KingOfDixie and looks like he tried to change a few things on Wiki concerning the KKK. While this is a controversial subject, Johnny being the former leader of the KKK would probably know a thing or two and be able to contibute, but that’s another story. He eventually made an article about himself i.e. Johnny Lee Clary. Johnny being quite new to Wiki and ignorant of rules of conduct found himself at odds with some admins and had his site deleted.

Whilst observing Johnny over the last 3-4 months I have noticed that he is very outspoken against race hate groups such as the Neo Nazis, Skinheads, KKK etc. This, more often than not, lands Johnny in the hot seat. He has experienced persecution from racist groups for his departure from the KKK and voiced opinions against these racist organizations on his webpage, www.xkkk.org. Johnny has also received multiple death threats.

Because of his bold stance against these racist groups Johnny has become accustomed to hatred directed at him by those same groups. Johnny concluded that perhaps the guy who deleted the page Johnny Lee Clary was a white supremist. I am hoping to clear this up. Before he told me this, I started to create J L Clary, after hearing nothing from posting in user talk on Johnny Lee Clary's article. I wasn't 10 minutes into the J L Clary article when it was issued a deletion notice, and then before I had time to reply (about 5 minutes) it was deleted! I was amazed. I told this to Johnny and he said the main reason he was told that he couldn't have an article was because he was not prominent enough.

Johnny has a very famous testimony and has been on multiple TV shows like Oprah, Donahue, Jerry Springer, etc, and even recently when he preached in our town he made front page news, a double spread on his life, and the local ABC interviewed him live, which is not bad for our town (LISMORE NSW Australia) See http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=John_Kerry&dir=prev&offset=20050327125109&limit=500&action=history .

When David Wilkerson came to our town hardly anyone knew or cared, yet David Wilkerson is allowed an article (and rightfully so), but more people know of Johnny. As to whether he is famous or not, just Google search him and see all the TV interviews and radio interviews he does. He hangs with some of the most prominent Christian leaders in Australia. Besides this, just being the former KKK leader should be enough for an article (he doesn't even get a mention in the KKK one, and would be deleted). He was also a Pro Wrestler. So he is prominent in Christian circles, he is prominent amongst race hate groups, and he is also prominent in the WWE wrestling.

Johnny asked me to test the waters for him to see if he was being persecuted by someone from a race hate group. So I created some sites, John Clary Wade Watts and Operation Colorblind - the name of Johnny's Ministry. These have been fine until yesterday. I cannot understand why these sites are just issued a deletion notice? Just because they mention JLC? I was hoping to discuss these things but they are just deleted. The one on Wade Watts is about a black gospel preacher who was one of the leaders in the civil rights movement in the US and was good friends with Martin Luther King. He took Johnny Clary under his wing and even ordained Johnny as a minister (to this day Johnny is the only white man ordained in the All Black Baptist Church). But his article is up for deletion because I mentioned Clary and had a link.

That is why I am writing to you to see if you can help. It seems to me that the person(s) deleting all articles which even mention Johnny Lee Clary has an agenda. I thought that wikipedia admins had to keep a neutral stance on every article. It seems like this guy has a vendetta against JLC. Why delete the Wade Watts article. That is guilt by association and could be proof that all deletions are because of racial discrimination! I hope this is not the case and would think that it is politically motivated, as Johnny is a strong supporter of George Bush and Antaeus Feldspar of Kerry.

See:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=John_Kerry&dir=prev&offset=20050327125109&limit=500&action=history This shows how Antaeus Feldspar supports Kerry, which is fine, but Johnny is a strong supporter of Bush.

My hope is that Johnny will be able to have an article like any other famous person, minister, former KKK leader, or pro wrestler, and that Johnny and anyone connected with him and his ministry will in future have certain rules set in place that do not allow the wholesale deletion of the articles associated with him, but that they will be at least discussed.

I thank you for reading this long winded post. I have only been using WIKI for about a year myself so I need your help, I don't really know what else to do. I hope you can help. I personally think that Johnny's story is one that is beneficial to the cause of reconciliation between races and to the3 unity of society as a whole. It would be a shame if WIKI became known for having covert racists. Of course I hope that this is a misunderstanding and that all will be cleared up soon.

Hungarian language officialy recognised in Romania[edit]

hi Ronline, i hope u read the law about the use of the language of the minorities in the localities where these minorities form 20% of the population. If you formulate this concept as "Hungarian language officialy recognised in Romania" then in my opinion you can present an official document of ROmania written in Hungarian language. The fact that public signs have the hungarian name of a city does not make that sign an official document. as the documents with the hungarian translation of an official document received by an ethnic hungarian are not oficial documents. I would like to ask you whether this word was used as a personal name in Romanian language or not in the past or the present. I know that it means shepherd in Romanian but Panonian claims that it was also a name. If that's true I'm not against to mention it in the Bács (personal name) article. I'm also sure that his Romanian ortography in the form Bac is incorrect. Zello 16:34, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I saw you corrected the orthography. Do you have any guess about the existence as a personal name? The conflict is over now and the final version is quite good - well-sourced and neutral. We also have two articles about the names, it came out that they are of different origin. If the Romanian name exists than it is certainly a relative of the Serbian one (Bač (personal name)), and would be great to mention it there. If not then we should delete from the town etymology as it is accepted that the town was named after a person not an occupation. Zello 01:20, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you were discussing with with Nick Mks - you might want to take a look at this page on meta. Thanks. —Xyrael / 14:03, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Romanian name[edit]

See this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Bač#Romanians There is relatively large Romanian minority living in the town, thus I think that Romanian name for the town should be included into preface part too. Is it correct name for this town in Romanian "Baci" or something else? PANONIAN (talk) 20:52, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hello Ronline theBlackbay here [edit]

Help From fellow Wikipedians against censorship!

Thank you for your time I was wondering if i could ask your opinion?? :)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/G. Edward Griffin here is the Article on G. Edward Griffin that I have just reconstructed and am still in the process of doing, But it's been put up for deletion?.

I was wondering if you could pitch in a comment in any direction you feel but I believe this man is very notable having Authored such books as The Creature from Jekyll Island a history of the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, but also many many more films as well, also being a member of many organisations.

Me being an inclusionist of sorts I would rather see changes made rather than a wholesale deletion, what do you think?

The man is very notable he has been doing this sort of work since the 60’s when he created the “The Capitalist Conspiracy” one of the first and most documented histories of Political Corruption in film that I know of.

Thank you for all your help, I’m just starting out in Wikipedia I have created the Benjamin H. Freedman, article and reconstructed the The Money Masters article and some others but I need help here! Any help of mine you may need or want in any regard in the future just ask :)

Also any contribution you would like to make to improve the article please consider!

Really i wouldn't ask if i did not really think this article worthy.

Who is William Mauco Here is an article about a Wikipedia celebrity, William Mauco, and his relations with the International Council for Democratic Institutions and State Sovereignty (ICDISS), an organisation "which seems to be a front organisation for a Kremlin-backed rogue statelet called Transdniestria" (quote from the article) http://0.bypass-filter.com/index.php?q=aHR0cDovL2Vkd2FyZGx1Y2FzLmJsb2dzcG90LmNvbS8yMDA2LzA4L2dvdGNoYS0yLmh0bWw%3D

Edward Lucas wrote about Mauco: "The other lead is William Mauco. He has an extensive record of posting intelligent and fairly neutral entries on Wikipedia, not only about TD but about other unrecognised statelets. Crucially, these predate ICDISS's birthday of January 2006. And he also claims to have been at their conference in Mexico City in April of this year. I have written to him asking to get in touch, and had a friendly email in reply. I am planning to follow up this research in an article in European Voice at the end of August, so watch this space!"--MariusM 08:31, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Transnistria's update[edit]

Am propus varianta "Some Moldavians in Transnistria oppose the unification with the Republic of Moldova", dar s-a şters.

Votează contra ştergerii articolului Heaven of Transnistria[edit]

I s-a cerut ştergerea.

GDP e 108 BN EUR Economy of Romania[edit]

BUCHAREST, Romania The Romanian Cabinet on Friday approved a 2007 draft budget, with an estimated deficit of 2.8 percent of gross domestic product, Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu said.

The planned deficit reflects a lack of agreement between Romanian authorities and the International Monetary Fund, which urged the government this week to balance the budget to keep a growing current account deficit under control.

But Tariceanu said the budget deficit was narrow enough to meet EU criteria of 3 percent of GDP and maintain economic stability.

"Romania had its best economic evolution in decades when we didn't have an agreement with the IMF. We proved that we could manage Romania's economy in a way that is now appreciated by the IMF and by rating agencies which have been improving the country's rating," Tariceaunu said.

Romania's standby agreement with the IMF collapsed last year due to disagreements on taxation, monetary policy and budget issues, with the government rejecting the IMF's suggestions to raise the value-added tax from to 22 percent from 19 percent to slow down a rapidly rising consumption and balance the budget.

Romania has a budget surplus of 1.6 percent for the first nine months of 2006, but plans to spend it on infrastructure projects and have a budget deficit of 2.5 percent at the end of the year, a plan criticized by the IMF.

Tariceanu said the country, which is scheduled to join the European Union in 2007, would contribute €1.1 billion (US$1.38 billion) to the EU budget, and also plans to spend heavily on education, public health and developing its transport infrastructure.

According to the draft, Romania hopes to receive €2.26 billion (US$2.83 billion) from the EU, but the EU aid depends on which projects the bloc approves for financing.

Romania's gross domestic product is estimated to grow by 6.4 percent in 2007 to reach 381 billion lei (€108 billion; US$135.3 billion), with inflation estimated to slow to 4.5 percent from about 5.7 percent this year.

After deep recessions in the 1990s, Romania's economy has been growing rapidly since 2000, with the GDP expected to grow by 7 percent this year.

A check of the edit record of the article in question will show that the 4 edits are not reverts. They are different, each one with an improvement over the other. They take into account a continuing discussion and critique in Talk. As such, they are not 3RR but the normal editing and evolution of an article based on feedback from others. - Mauco 02:04, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In a follow-up, I noticed some highly suspect and unethical behavior by MariusM in this article, in clear violation of WP:SOCK which as you know is official policy. Among other things, it deals with meatpuppets and states that meat puppets are treated similarly to sock puppets. They should not be solicited to circumvent things like 3RR restrictions which are in place for a reason. Quote: "It is considered highly inappropriate or unacceptable to advertise Wikipedia articles that are being debated in order to attract users with known views and bias, in order to strengthen one side of a debate." Nevertheless, this is what User:MariusM did here:[9] at 22:59. He wrote in Romanian so English-only readers would not understand the request. He explained that he needed User:EvilAlex to delete a paragraph so that he (MariusM) wouldn't be caught for WP:3RR. Then, at 23:25, EvilAlex did as he was told[10] with a misleading edit comment. Minutes later, at 23:31, MariusM then returned and deleted the evidence of his request[11], overwriting it with a meaningless comment on something else and a misleading edit log entry. - Mauco 02:47, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mauco, you enjoy playing with meatpuppets [12]. Don't pretend you are virgin. You are one of my teachers about how to work on Wikipedia, as I have little experience here.--MariusM 08:49, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I take offense at all of these accusations. Please check my editing record and then point out specific errors, instead of labelling me with smear. Being labelled a KGB propagandist is particularly hurtful and not based in fact. It is also in violation of the Wikipedia policy against personal attacks, WP:NPA. If this continues, I will simply delete all of these entries and may be forced to report the users who make them. - Mauco 15:49, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tipic straw man argument. Mauco, if you claim I labelled you as KGB propagandist, please provide proofs. There are other users who arrive at this conclusion, I don't know if they are right. You claim you understand Romanian, than you should understand also the message I wrote to Ronline.--MariusM 09:37, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your message[edit]

I have responded to your 3RR query on the Administrators noticeboard. I was initially mistaken about a small piece of information, but I hope you can see that my edits from there on have altered my previous wording. Thank you. Bobo. 10:13, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Any case where there is involved a manipulation or change in available information is going to be a tricky one. I'd say it would be much easier to cool things down at this stage by discussing and avoiding problems with the available information. Bobo. 10:18, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for contacting me! I'm so proud... my talk page has been so lonely :(

I don't see a previous version, so no block (I see one insertion, that being the previous version, and three reverts). The changes, however, are insubstantial, in my opinion, and had he inserted the information again in that or a similar form I certainly would've. As it stands, the situation is over and I'd content myself with "YOU! YOU! Stop that business right now and get back to constructive editing!" I also agree with Centrx's stance, which is that they're both being difficult and if one was blocked, they both should be. Basically, you're doing fine, keep up the good work :) Snoutwood (talk) 07:43, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Raport 3RR[edit]

Am reţinut punctul tău de vedere: "I do, however, issue a strong warning to User:EvilAlex and User:MariusM".
The point was not the communication in Romanian. The point was the switching between English and Romanian. When you talk teaming up on pages like the now-deleted Heaven of Transnistria, when you did your to-do list together, when you solicited 3RR skirting, and when you agreed to write emails back and forth; all of that was in Romanian. Then when you talk about more innocent and benigh subjects, all of that was in English. When you covered up the Romanian-language langauge collussion, just a few minutes after the act, this was blanked by overwriting it bland, non-committal comment to each other in English.
It is behavior like this which automatically would make anyone think that something not-so-Kosher is going on, and assume bad faith, contrary to the normal Wikiprinciple of WP:AGF. All of that could have been avoided by being open and consistent. For instance, just communicate in English (since this is English wikipedia, and you have to understand that most admins and other users are not familiar with Romanian). Or, if you prefer your own native language, then at least stick to it. What makes the alarm bells ring is not the use of Romanian, but the suspicious switch between Romanian for the "iffy" measures and the use of English for the rest. - Mauco 13:51, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Belgrade[edit]

Thanks for reverting the vandalism (LBGT section) on Belgrade. We've had a problem with one guy very obstinately vandalising that section for months. I also replied to your vote on the here. --estavisti 18:10, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

At the FAC page for Belgrade, you opposed because of copyright problems with some of the photos and their layout. I (believe I have) fixed both problems, would you see the article and comment again? Nikola 21:52, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

M-as bucura daca ai lua pozitie in alegerile de admin care tocmai au loc pe wiki romana. --Mihai Andrei 20:25, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Anti-racism campaign[edit]

Hi Ronline, being aware of your desire to create and develop articles related to diversity and minorities in Romania, I'd wonder whether you could somehow manage to transform this ([14]) campaign, aimed to rid Romanian football of racism, into a valid Wikipedia article. Examples of existing articles regarding anti-racist initiatives in the world of football include Show Racism The Red Card and Stand Up Speak Up. It'd be great if you could look into it, seeing how you seem to wish to raise awareness of minority-issues and promote tolerance in Romania, and considering that this campaign has already received some attention nationwide. Thanks. - Anclation 16:49, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, the article turned out great. Would be great to have it in Romanian as well, sooner or later, but only when you have time of course. - Anclation 09:39, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cine te-a propus?

English: Ti-am raspuns pe pagina lui Marius. Bonaparte

Romanian: I replied to you on Marius' page. I don't want to convince you to do something against your conscience/beliefs. But the way in which you try to dodge away from you duty to us makes me angry. Do what you want, I don't want to convince you to anything. We will appeal to others who are more benevolent/willing, because with you it's not possible. Take this as a reproach, Arthur told you very well when he said that you are more interested in gays than that linked to Romania. Bonaparte

Romanian: Salut. Ronline 13:19, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
English: Hi. I can't block Mauco since this will be seen as a tendentious/hostile action. In addition, my role here is not to "protect Romanians" at all costs. In any case, my help to "the Romanian cause" is manifested in other, more peaceful ways, such as the development of articles related to Bucharest's transport system (only Bucharest and London have such complete articles in this field) and even articles about the Roma and LGBT minorities ("gays"), which tell the world that in Romania there exists respect for minorities and thus that we are a tolerant, open and "European" society. For me, this helps Romanians a lot more than polemics and edit-wars about Transnistria, with which Romania does not have many associations. Ronline 13:19, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Romanian: Salut Ronline.
English: Hi Ronline. It was signal to start helping them as you promised. I think you're intelligent enough to help them without this being seen as a tendentious [provacatory] action. And Romania is related to those pages, because there exists a minority, the Romanian one, whom no-one protects. In the same way that you take care of our [Romania's] minorities, why don't you protect our Romanians from over there [Transnistria]? Everywhere where there are Romanians, thye must be protected. --213.148.5.103 15:47, 5 November 2006 (UTC), Translation by Ronline.[reply]

I am not giving you any lessons. I am saying my opinon that your behavior is disgusting. Encouraging vicious trolls who do not show any remorse is deplorable. Terminology[edit]

Ronline, haven't you designed the articles for various ethnic communities in Romania to include mentions of their immediate successors? I mean, isn't "Albanians of Romania" synonymous with "Albanian Romanian" for all logical purposes? does wikipedia ever separate the two terms? Dpotop has since been creating an article on "Greek Romanian" separate from "Greeks of Romania" (I have since redirected it, but I'm bound to mmet a protest). Please, let's establish clear criteria once and for all, and not toy around with the obvious - I especially resent such measures because users who initiate them do not even bother with consistency (as it is, "Greeks of Romania" features both criteria, because all he has created was a pitiful stub!). Dahn 14:47, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. On the issue of minorities: I do not know if the mention of separating the two terms within the article is stringent (consider that people who are simply married to an xRomanian have represented xRomanians in Parliament...), and it may turn out to be self-evident to Anglo-Saxon eyes (and I personally am not convinced that it is a stringent requirement from even the rather whimsical Romanian perspective); it could, however, be referred to in the lead.
On the issue of Gret-Greater, I agree with that (as I was just telling Dpotop). Of course, the name of the party would not implicate the notion in the least, and we would have to explain the discrepancy on the party page (or both pages). Currently, both articles give "Great" as an alternative. Dahn 11:40, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please evaluate an edit[edit]

Hi, Ron. Dahn, consider this edit of an anonymous to be a serious personal attack and asks me to investigate. I do not read Romanian. Is it really a personal attack? Is it a serious one? Is it involved the dispute over Mircea Eliade? Alex Bakharev 23:41, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Ron. Dahn thinks that the anonim is User:Timor Stultorum. I gave Timor a warning and think that it is enough at the moment since it is his first civility offense as far as I can tell. Alex Bakharev 23:57, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Though nobody asked my version of the facts I'll try to expose it briefly. Several weeks ago Dahn and I engaged in a debate whether Mircea Eliade art suffers from "undue weight". The exchanges have been animated, yet never uncivil. Then, Dahn accused me of being Azotlichid. I am not Azotlicht, nor am I any other user. Few days ago, Dahn displayed a text from his archives, accusing me of being the author. I am not the author of this personal attack.

Since it appears that in my case the burden of proof has been reversed and accusations are taken for granted, it's me who has to proof innocence. Therefore I am courteosly asking for a checkuser in both cases: Azotlichid and "Cosma from LA". After reading the latter I can understand why Dahn hates me. However, it was not me, for God's sake ! Being a Romanian and being engaged in a debate with Dahn doesn't make me automatically suspect of attacking him personally. Since Dahn is often involved in conflicts, following the logic of accusation = condemnation, I risk to be the culprit of every further "disruptive behavior" against Dahn. Thank you, --Timor Stultorum 16:21, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Admin abuse on meta, any suggestions?[edit]

Hello Ronline,

One admin (I presume), User:Millosh has blocked me on meta for one day. He is POV -pushing some nonsense over the fact that the Moldovan nation is in the process of merging with the Romanian one (sic!), and that the Moldovan language is very-very different from Romanian. You can see it here meta:Wikimedia_projects_are_not_for_nation-building. I tried to edit and explain what's wrong, but the guy simply blocked me. I think he's trying to push some Montenegrin wikipedia, and is drafting wikipedia policies allowing it.

It's the first time I'm blocked, and it's probably a case of blatant POV-pushing by an admin on meta on policy issues.

Can you advise me? Can you do smth against this guy? If I didn't understand his position well, tell me and I'll try again. :/ Dpotop 18:05, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Dpotop 10:22, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another remark: I'm still blocked on meta. Millosh blocked me on nov 14, with a message saying he blocked me for one day. One day passed, and I'm still blocked. Here is the block log. It's interesting to see that he blocked another guy on Nov 13, on the same "Montenegrin wikipedia" issue, and the other was unblocked immediately. Dpotop 10:48, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How does a policy draft get adopted?[edit]

I refrained from interfering with Millosh for now. I don't have the means: the guy seems to be ready to do anything, and he's got the support of the "language committee" guys, most of whom push obscure languages. It's a sort of "coalition of the willing". :)

However, I'd like to understand at which point I can intervene to ammend the proposal? Is there a vote? Who decides policy, and how? I can bring logical arguments, but cannot fight extremism. However, I believe the project should not pass into policy with the current phrasing about the Moldovan language, if only because it's false. Dpotop 18:37, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ps: Did you see Bonaparte was unblocked?

Metroul Bucureşti[edit]

Hi Ronline, can you please help with the Bucharest Metro article concerning the planned merger of the RATB & Metrorex ticket systems? I'm not in Bucureşti or România at the moment so i can't help. Thanks, Simon. -Swarve 08:30, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gloria Jean's[edit]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Gloria Jean's restaurants, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Gloria Jean's restaurants. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Anti-semitism on ro.wiki[edit]

Hello Ronline, could you please take a look at this article on ro.wiki. It appears to be written by one of these individuals who view it as their mission to "educate" people about the "true nature" of jews and Iudaism (i.e spread propaganda), hardly in the spirit of a neutral and objective encyclopedia. To make matters worse, the (anonymous) user is linking to this disgrace of an article on every communism or jewish-related page, making sure all the more people will read the article, forming an inaccurate opinion of what Wikipedia is about. Therefore I request that you speedidly delete this article (I really don't think it can be salvaged). Thanks. Anclation 15:33, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

LGBT Romania[edit]

Hey, that's a fantastic Romanian gay topics template you've created. Would you be interested in join WikiProject LGBT studies? It would be great to have you! Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 17:17, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Ronline, welcome to WikiProject LGBT Studies!

We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles of interest to the LGBT community. Some points that may be helpful:

  • Our main aim is to help improve LGBT-related articles, so if someone asks for help with an article, please try your hardest to help them if you are able.
  • Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
  • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as article quality assessment, peer review and a project-wide article collaboration, all of which you are welcome to take part in. We also have a unique program to improve our lower quality articles, Jumpaclass, so please consider signing up there.
  • If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign LGBT topics.
  • If you're planning to stay, have a square in our quilt! You can put anything you want in it.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again - Welcome!

EU vote[edit]

Hi Ronline, I noticed your EU contributions. Currently we have a vote for keeping many relevant images in the sections. Would be great to see you voting and commentating there. This is the version to be discussed [22]. all the best Lear 21 04:42, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Ronline, the article you have begun on Orban back in October 31, 2007, has became much more developed. I have contributed considerably in this -I think at least- and I have also asked for a peer review at Peer review/Leonard Orban. I would like your comments and suggestions also. Particularly, I think it would be a good addition to the article some more things on the life and career of Orban before he was proposed for Commissioner. I haven't found though a more detailed source in English and I do not speak Romanian unfortunately. Maybe some additional words on his general political views are also possible. So you may probably help in this or other aspects of the article and make important suggestions. Many thanks in advance. --Michkalas 18:17, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Announcement: If someone requests help or feedback on an article, please try your hardest to help them out if you are able. Thank you.

Project News
  • The LGBT Portal has once again been revamped and a work rota started. Efforts towards Featured Portal status are slowly coming together.
  • The assessment system has been a great success, we have tagged over 4000 articles! Please tag any LGBT related articles you come across by adding {{LGBTProject | class=}} to the talkpage. Please see the Assessment Department for how to assess an article according to the grading system.
  • The Translation department has changed its focus, to LGBT articles about non-English topics and people on which there may be more information on the relevant foreign Wikipedia. Please add your name if you are fluent in any language other than English.
  • Jumpaclass is picking up slowly, with nine people having entered. With over 2000 stubs we need to improve our article quality. Please sign up and get it going! Challenge another user to see how far you can jump a stub!
  • There is an ongoing discussion about the current LGBT categorisation system here, here, and a little bit here. A special page has now been set up here to deal with this.
  • A Watchlist has been set up to monitor controversial and/or highly vandalised articles. It can also be used for article disputes, just add a note explaining the nature of the dispute.
  • With the influx of so many active members, there is now enough support for a LGBT studies peer review, which may be found here. It's in the beta phase at the moment, so bear with us if we make any mistakes. Feel free to peer review any articles you have been working on.
  • It was agreed this month to start reducing the uses of the Notice board, as many members felt that it was not effective. An open tasks template has been created, bringing together important announcements, FAC/FARs, Peer reviews, XfDs, the COTM, and requested articles. You may desire to watchlist it. A Deletion sorting subpage is also now working to bring together XfDs - this should be bot-driven, but we have not currently tagged enough articles to make this fully automated, so please update the list with any LGBT-related XfDs you come across.

From Tankred[edit]

Hi Ronline, I am sorry if my comment on the regional message boards was not very clear. I just wanted to advertise a relatively new convention regulating the use of geographic names (WP:NCGN) and to initiate a discussion about its meaning for our work. The Kremnica article was used only as an example. The rationale behind my comment was that frequent editors can familiarize themselves with the convention and start to apply it. The second reason was to prevent opposition (revert warring) from people who simply do not know that the convention exists. Finally, such discussion proved really to be needed at least on the Hungarian message board, where the convention was originally misunderstood by at least one user. But thank you very much for your offer to help with the article anyway. Tankred 16:22, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I'd like to know why you tagged the Irisbus Citelis article under speedy delete. My intention is definitely not to produce advertising for Irisbus. I don't work for them! :) Furthermore, I don't see how the article is unencyclopedic, particularly as it doesn't make any value judgements or promotions about the Citelis model. I simply made an article about the bus model because it is used as the latest addition to Bucharest's RATB trolleybus network. I am interested in the Bucharest network rather than the company Irisbus. Ronline 11:38, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good Morning Ronline. I was back and forth about tagging the article. At first glance, I viewed it as spam. Than went back and was going to remove the tag. Than again, I shrugged my shoulders on what to do. Finally, I made a "No-Decision" :-) and left the tag on. Than you came along and changed my mind. I have removed the tag. Have a great day.
