Suggestion for very long alphabetical list:[edit]

Hi,

I have created the 2015 in public domain page. At first I kept it a simple list, but I thought a sortable table could help people go straightly to their country. Now, I still face the problem of a big list and wikilinks not corrected.

Do you have any suggestion of a way of organizing things?

Thanks for your time.

Thank you for your reply and your nice word of support. Still unsure what to do about splitting or not. My timetable will decide for me ... And by the way, I really like the box ;) Thank you again. Fxparlant (talk) 18:18, 29 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Katie Walder may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Hello.[edit]

It is just frustrating sometimes how wikipedia turns to be based how a group of people decide to show up information . and then they add oh you need a consensus otherwise you will be banned or blocked and everytime they issue warning like (TW)

No wonder the number of editors is decreased with this attitude, especially when you feel some people just act as monitors they don't bother to really improve pages but they act as monitors for your editings and issue warning for you , like my last incidence at Marc-André ter Stegen's page .

It is a clear cut fact he conceded 12 goals in 4 games..there is a detailed information for every game he appeared in and when he conceded the goals at the certain exact min even ..but again someone shows up to tell me oh no consensus to add it ! or someone told me once oh it is not standard way for adding information .

it is funny if you look at these people contribution you can find easily how they revert ALOT of editings like really alot of times and most of their reasoning like no consensus with every revert there is a threaten to be blocked if you don't agree with them and when you try to discuss you rarely find people talk about it or even care to talk about it .this is just really frustrating. and yeah again that's why numbers of editors will always be decreased .

you sent me once on Jan 2013 thats why i posted this on your talk page =) thank you for listening .

Adnan (talk) 17:02, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I did..everytime I tried to talk with these people and explain it, leaded to what I have said earlier due to my experience with them, you only cheered when you agree with them but if you don't then you only hit a wall i guess , and look how ALL debates I was the one who took it to discussion while ALL other editors who are supposed to be with more experience just acts like monitors attitude like - do or don't do this - none of em even tried to talk about it unless I did .

few examples :

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Qed237#Marc-Andr.C3.A9_ter_Stegen

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Lukeno94#.3F.3F.3F

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football#Nemanja_Mati.C4.87

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Gerard_Piqu%C3%A9#Real_Zaragoza_total_appearances_..

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football#Can_we_change_goals_section_for_goalies_with_clean_sheets_.3F

so as you can see If i agree with them it means I am civil and a good editor, otherwise as Qed237 called once my editing is sh*t ( when i mistakenly added his signature next to his name while trying to add his name to the discussion). I am really not sensitive about all of these just saying It is boring and a waste of time It is not just in english language actually I have edited in another language and the same people reaction in most cases, people get it personal i guess and become defensive and argue about oh it is not used as this. as if information should be added as what they think it is a standard . and It is fine =) but I just think the whole wikipedia is a great idea how people help to help if you look at it from outside but when you try to be a part of it, it is just shows how much it is based on who has more free time and opinionated people . and yes you are right i guess ..I don't know what is the solution that's why i am saying it is a waste of time for me =) .

Adnan (talk) 21:53, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

just another small example how people act :

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=C%C3%A9sar_Azpilicueta&diff=647012435&oldid=646841917

for real it doesn't even make any different for me but just because he thinks mentioning la liga for example next to every season instead of one time it is enough reason to change because someone said before table should be as this =) .

Adnan (talk) 22:24, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

nope English isn't my native language =) , and I do contribute sometimes with work on articles on my native language , I will try to find less controversial topics I just lost my desire to really contribute at all right now =) it is just momentary .
 Thank you man =)

Adnan (talk) 03:21, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. hope this finds you well :)

Actually i figured out i was the wrong side this time . so my bad but this could be easily avoided if he tried to explain on talk page or something for sure . I tried to explain this for him at his talk page.

happy Editing =) .

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. New deal for page patrollers[edit]

Hi Ryan shell,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please participate to the talk pages consultation[edit]

Hello

Our team at the Wikimedia Foundation is working on a project to improve the ease-of-use and productivity of wiki talk pages. As a Teahouse host, I can imagine you’ve run into challenges explaining talk pages to first-time participants.

We want all contributors to be able to talk to each other on the wikis – to ask questions, to resolve differences, to organize projects and to make decisions. Communication is essential for the depth and quality of our content, and the health of our communities. We're currently leading a global consultation on how to improve talk pages, and we're looking for people that can report on their experiences using (or helping other people to use) wiki talk pages. We'd like to invite you to participate in the consultation, and invite new users to join too.

We thank you in advance for your participation and your help.

For nearly half a century a small eminence just north of the Kern River, where it emerges from the mountains in Kern County, California, has borne the local name of Sharktooth Hill. Unrecorded thousands of beautifully preserved shark teeth have been taken from the loose sands along its eroded flanks. Syntax for redirects[edit]

Hi, thanks for the articles on fish that you are adding, as well as the redirects!

When creating a redirect, you must leave no space in the code between "#REDIRECT" and the article title:

  • "#REDIRECT[[Target article]]" is correct and will produce a redirect to "Target article"
  • "#REDIRECT [[Target article]]" is incorrect, and will end up producing an article with a link to "Target article" instead of the redirect.

Best wishes, Sjakkalle (Check!) 16:07, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
