Minor league baseball teams[edit]

You really need to add more information about these teams before posting articles about them. Specifically, you need to include references so that we can verify the information is true. Otherwise, these articles may face deletion. Let me know if you need help. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 03:56, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced or original content. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. 24.4.248.154 (talk) 04:09, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is the final warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. The next time you disrupt Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing. 24.4.248.154 (talk) 04:16, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ignore those warnings. While it is true that you need to provide references, your actions are not enough to merit blocking, especially when instigated by an editor who doesn't even have his own user name. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 05:34, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Username or not is almost completely irrelevant, Realkyhick. Equazcion (talk) 07:00, 7 Mar 2010 (UTC)
This anon-IP editor has been going around slapping warning tags willy-nilly on various articles - some justified, many not. When I tried to call him or her down on it, he or she started slapping me with tags, then posted an incident report at ANI without any attempt at direct communication. Apparently this editor has a history of this kind of action, and I was suspicious of it from the beginning. The warnings posted here by this editor are not warranted. User:SABRMnLgs is a new editor, trying to document various historical minor league baseball teams. Threatening him with a block without any explanation other than the boilerplate text of the warning tags is not helpful in any way. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 07:25, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not interested. Only came here to comment on your "an editor who doesn't even have his own user name" remark, which was irrelevant and uncalled for. Equazcion (talk) 07:32, 7 Mar 2010 (UTC)
Well, you should be interested, because it bears directly on the issue at hand. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 07:50, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Tyler Trojans requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Too-small creations[edit]

Hello. Please, please stop creating so many articles which are simply too short for inclusion. I'm certain you mean well, but these "nanostubs" create a lot of work for other users. Please review WP:YFA and WP:STUB. Thanks. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 15:45, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Sandersville Baseball Park has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indications of notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello, SABRMnLgs. You have new messages at Funnyfarmofdoom's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

A tag has been placed on Annapolis Navy Yard requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

OK, let's take a break here[edit]

As you can see, many (but not all) of your articles have been speedy-deleted. I think that many, if not all of these teams should probably meet Wikipedia's notability standards as teams that were officially part of the Minor League Baseball system. Other editors may disagree, but that not the point of my comments. You've started off by posting articles about several teams which are just one sentence, with no references or anything else. That's simply not enough for a WP article. You have to at least give us some references so that we can verify what you have written, as well as fleshing out the article a bit more. Just mass-producing a bunch of stub articles is not helpful, and only serves to make admins and editors who keep an eye on new article rather upset, as you have seen.

You mentioned in a message on my talk page that you can't see putting in the same reference 1,400 times, Well, you don't have much choice. If digitalballparks.com and baseball-reference.com are your sources, you must cite them in each and every article. Moreover, you must link to the specific pages on those websites that refer to the subject team or ballpark. Yeah, it's a lot of work, but it's required. Period. So you would probably do best to post the article with those references and some additional info such as seasons played, leagues, notable players and the like in your first draft. You might want to set up a template in a text editor where you can just change a few items like team name, URL's of the reference links, and so forth.

Since these articles were speedy-deleted (as opposed to formal AfD procedures), you are allowed to post them again. If you do, start with something more than one sentence, and use the references. And remember, you're not in a race to post as many articles as possible within a short time. This might take a while, so be patient. If you have any questions, let me know. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 18:04, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

One more thing: Read this page to see how to properly include references in a Wikipedia article. A line like "Reference: Digital Baseball Parks" is not sufficient. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 18:06, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
