Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Doug Weller talk 09:03, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

January 2024[edit]

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Robert Morey (pastor), but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 04:32, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's just plain wrong, see [1] for a much earlier source. Doug Weller talk 08:44, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The term "New Atheism] was being used in the 1950s[edit]

So please stop saying Morey coined it. Doug Weller talk 09:04, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I will stop claiming Robert A. Morey coined the term. But I will not stop claiming that Gary Wolf did not coin the term. Fair is fair. If you think it is ok to claim Gary Wolf coined the term, then there is a sense of unfairness at play here. It seems ok across the board to say Wolf coined the term in 2006 but not ok to say Robert A. Morey coin the term in 1986. So that is hypocritical. Yeah, the article was wrong. But it doesn’t say anyone coined the term, I fixed that. Doug Weller talk 16:51, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
