Images

Shouldn't we leave the caption so yuo can say whether its from anime or model and which type. We probably need just one pic at the top and then others can be added within the article Giant89

I didn't realize you had an image with both. Definately use that.

Those images are a little dark, but the content is good. You know that when we set Liger Zero's image it will be reverted every 5 seconds to a different one

Hey Saberwyn...

I see that Voiceover and Voice Actor and the likes are fairly expansive categories. Having a number of credits and even finding links to my name around Wikipedia (specifically in Zoids / Dr.D), I thought I would be okay to add myself. As apparently, this is not really a cool idea, is there anyway I can go about creating a legitimate listing? Who else submits the names of the actors?

Can I ask you what exactly do you believe you have done wrong on AfD? The post on that blog exists, and it is true that AfD is a discussion and not a vote. Another editor has restored the template, for you information. - Liberatore(T) 12:27, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

My personal opinion is that you didn't do anything wrong. Contrary to what the anonymous said, the template is a warning for new editors who may have been told or may otherwise come to the conclusion that AfD is a voting. Nowhere it says "that post told you to come here and stuff the ballot". In fact, in previous cases where I saw this or a similar template used (Neil Cicierega and Shelley Powers), it was because of a post that pointed out to AfD without saying "go and vote".

Oi, Saberwyn - The Enslaver here. Sorry to barge in here, but you asked me where I got all my 40K Imperial navy info from - well, I'm not really a Warhammer fan, but I once read the book Execution Hour by Gordon Rennie, and it told me a helluva lot about the ships of the Navy. It's pretty exciting, would make a decent movie - but only if it has a few more female characters. Not enough girls in that story.

Is opionated discussion/debate about the subject matter allowed, or does the discussion specifically need to pertain to the context of the article itself?

Thanks for the quick response. I'm simply curious becuase I have often been told using past anonymous accounts that my comments made in talk pages were unacceptable because they had nothing to do with the article, even though they were pertinent to the subject matter (for ex. 40k articles for deletion

Deep strike should definitely go – I'll try sending it through proposed deletion, but I suspect the original author (or their sockpuppet) will contest it, so it'll have to go through AfD instead. Nerve glove I tend to agree should go as well: there's no real point merging it into the Weapons and Equipment list as it's just far too small, and if we put that in, we run the risk of putting in every single piece of equipment mentioned in every Codex ever... while we're on the subject, what do you think should happen to Chaos Terminators? Luna Park Sydney Images

I would like to know how best to tag the following images, after Orphanbot complained about the lack of copyright tags. I typed out the copyright information and fair use justification, as I was uncertain how to format it to conform with any of the current tags.

This is a somewhat complicated issue. If you accept that the images cannot be used in any commercial context, then the images cannot be used on wikipedia. The license that wikipedia uses allows redistribution commercially, and it is often actually done, by about.com and other groups. For this reason images that are specifically non-commercial are excluded from wikipedia. The issue I would have more is in regards to whether this policy they have is important. From what I understand these images were taken by you, so your obligation to uphold their policy is very dubious to me. This is further confused by the fact that you are in Australia, and I really have very little knowledge about their laws in this area. I am going to ask around though, so expect some updates here soon. - cohesion 19:13, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

  • I was thinking of something similar. I am personally friends with the owner of a local Games Workshop store, with painters who have won national competitions and paint just as well as the 'Eavy Metal team (e.g. 4 months on an Ultramarine Land Raider, 4 hours of work almost every day).

  • I just had a thought. I'm here to help Wikipedia, not to vandilise or get glory. I can honestly say that my models would only screw with the pages, not help them. Therefore, you won't be seeing any of my models on the pages and you won't see me going nuts.

Hornsby Station Photo

Hi saberwyn, before you leave, would you be able to get a photo of the dock platform at the Asquith end of Hornsby station? Its going to be demolished on the Long Weekend (10-12 June) and it would be worth including for the article. Let me know if you can't do it. (JROBBO 06:25, 23 May 2006 (UTC))

Thanks so much - the dock platform is at the Asquith end of platform 4 (the one next to the bus interchange). You may not be able to get to take a picture of it from platform 4, but I'm pretty sure that you can take one from the Asquith end of platform 3. It is made of bricks (unlike the rest of the platform), and I think is partially surrounded by a fence... not sure about that. If you look at the photo you have already taken at Hornsby, and standing in that exact spot, turn around and look at the other side of the station you would probably see it. Hope that helps! No - that's not it - perhaps I have got the platform numbers mixed up, but I thought that the platform you are standing on in that photo is platform 1 (the platform on the far left when facing towards the city is usually numbered 1 in most CityRail stations). If you have a look at this photo (here you will see the four platforms. The dock platform is on the far right of this shot, just off the camera. If you stand at the far end of this platform (which I thought was platform 4, but it seems to be platform 1) and look around you'll see a brick-lined square pit type thing, which is the dock platform. It's actually part of the platform - have a look and you should find it. Your shot is too far up the line towards Asquith. Sorry. (JROBBO 13:37, 29 May 2006 (UTC))

  • 2 things. I guess I didn't understand "too much". No different than what you wrote.
  • What I mean by union and not confederation. A Confederation has states (or districts) that do their own thing completely different from one another. The only relation they have to one another is a weak government and common laws. A Union, on the other hand, has all the states running under a strong government that directly oversees the unity of the states. Thus, the "United States of America".
  • Point being, we have "Dark Eldar editors", "Tyrand editors", "40k Planet editors", and etc. I'm calling these the "states". We are here, and we are under a WikiProject, but we are all off doing our own thing with no relation except that they are under the same topic. I'm not suggesting we all work everywhere (as you said, you only have certain White Dwarf magazines and you don't care for Dark Eldar), I'm suggesting we simply work together. Right now, we're not. We're "states" working for "states", not the "country" as a whole. IOW, we're editing to the good of the "articles", not the "Warhammer 40,000 section of Wikipedia".
  • A team of 5 can beat 5 individuals in any basketball game. I'm saying we're better as a team, not individuals.
