Editing my user page[edit]

There is an existing Scott Ambler page, which is me. How do I automatically redirect my user page to my existing page? Right now I have a redirect set up, but it still seems to require people to click on the link (at least it does in Safari). Thanks in advance.

Hi Scott. I see you've already worked out how to make your userpage into a redirect. However, your userpage is really supposed to be about you as a Wikipedian - there's nothing wrong with having a link on there to the article, but the page should cover your work on Wikipedia more than your real-life achievements. Ymblanter (a.k.a. Yaroslav Blanter) has a userpage that serves as a pretty good example. Yunshui  13:10, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Scott, you may want to be careful about adding links to your own website and writings to the Agile software development article. Wikipedia is not a soapbox, and adding such self-links can create a perception of self-promotion. One approach that has been suggested in the past for situations like this is to post the links you think should be added to the article talk page first, and let others add them to the article if they think the links are worthwhile. Please note that I'm not suggesting that you should go back and do that for the links you've just added. I'm simply suggesting it as something that you might consider doing in the future to avoid creating unnecessary friction with other members of the Wikipedia community. --Allan McInnes (talk) 17:15, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article Disciplined Agile Delivery has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Term coined by a company/person/author that is not widely used in the industry; article is essentially a promotional piece for a book.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. ArbCom 2019 election voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
