Information icon Hello, I'm Matthew hk. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Pentahotels, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Matthew hk (talk) 16:35, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello SeverinePentahotels. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Pentahotels, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:SeverinePentahotels. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=SeverinePentahotels|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Matthew hk (talk) 16:36, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Matthew, thanks for your message. It is my first time editing a post on wikipedia so I hope it is correct to reply here. In fact you are right I am currently employed by Pentahotels in the head office in Frankfurt, Germany; sorry I didn't know about the fact I need to display this. I have displayed this now on my user page - can you please confirm I am doing this right? Do I need to provide anything else as a proof?
Regarding the sources - unfortunately I do not have a reference as there hasn't been an official statement by CapitalBay nor by Pentahotels, so I will need to ask our PR Team for help. In case I am not able to provide any sources for my changes, the edits cannot be pusblished?
Looking forward to your reply, thanks for your help!SeverinePentahotels (talk) 18:13, 30 March 2020 (UTC)SeverinePentahotels[reply]
SeverinePentahotels, the {{talkback}} template is for you to leave on others' talk pages to inform them of messages. It doesn't push a notification to them. I believe you want the {{reply to}} template instead.
Including @Matthew hk: so that he can respond. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 18:59, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

SeverinePentahotels, for any new edit you should made a request over there: Talk:Pentahotels. Any chance there is news report on the new owner of the hotel chain? Wikipedia usually not to use primary source including press release, but if there is no secondary source available, any press release still sufficient to verify the claim of "New owner". Matthew hk, thanks for your reply. Yes, unfortunately there isn't any news anywhere, I checked with our marketing department and there should be an official statement going out in a few weeks. As soon as I have this, I will add the source to the page you mentioned. SeverinePentahotels (talk) 13:38, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

COI edits[edit]

We appreciate that you disclosed as required per the TOU but please read the COI policy which strongly discourages editing articles directly. Instead, please make any requests (including move requests) on the talk page. Praxidicae (talk) 16:32, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Praxidicae I already wrote the whole article on the talk page of the Penta Hotels listing a few weeks ago, and no one ever replied or adapted the listing accordingly... so I went ahead and changed the listing to have it uptodate. I am a bit confused as to why it reverted to the way it was before now. So what should I do now? SeverinePentahotels (talk) 16:37, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
