Looks like an interesting case, will try and spare a bit of time tomorrow on it. I think that the spirit country edits can wait whilst I spend a bit of time with Vika & Linda, beats arguing with Ceasars Palace.Dan arndt (talk) 13:01, 13 April 2014 (UTC)

Am trying to work out how to include the following, which comes from the liner notes by Mark Seymour on Unnatural Selection: "Crosby was an Eno nut. We made much use of the deep, almost sub sonic synth drone which emanated from the Korg MS20. It features in this track for the first time. The ‘long low drone’ came to underpin several Hunters tracks through the band’s life… a device that conveys a broad limitless horizon. Very Australian." Any thoughts... is Hunters & Collectors – Greatest Hits Live actually a separate album, by all accounts its the same album as Under One Roof just under a different name with different artwork. Dan arndt (talk) 08:58, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
Am confused as when "True Tears of Joy" was released, some sources such as idiot dog cite it as being November 1992, which makes sense as it would be just after the album was released however other such AusCharts indicate it was in January 1993 which is why it only debuted in the charts in February, which also makes sense. Any ideas as to which is correct? Dan arndt (talk) 08:41, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
Actually I almost answered my own question as I found an image on eBay of a copy of the "True Tears of Joy" CD single and printed on the disc was copyright 1992 - I'm certain that makes a conclusive case for a 1992 release. Dan arndt (talk) 08:55, 29 April 2014 (UTC)

You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. Stop de-proding articles just because they're mentioned on AllMusic. Read WP:NALBUMS. AllMusic staff v user reviews

This is a user-reviewed entry and as such does not lend itself to confirm notability. This is a staff-reviewed entry and does lend itself to confirm notability. If you continue to de-PROD for user-reviewed articles, I will simply continue to take them to AfD. Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:13, 22 June 2014 (UTC)

You realize that when you de-PROD an article using a bad source like this you're wasting a lot of time: yours, mine and all those who have to vote on the nominations. Please stop. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:20, 22 June 2014 (UTC)

dePROD

It is your right to PROD over 50 Hillsong-related articles, almost simultaneously. Some of those articles required little research to find sufficient sources to establish their notability; however others may require more time and effort to find such sources. I have read wp:nalbums and understand the requirements to establish notability.

In what way was my edit at Shout God's Fame disruptive editing? I supplied a reference to establish the existence of the subject of the article, I removed the dePROD to gain sufficient time to research for more sources to further support a claim of notability for that article.

If I had left the PROD then the article would be automatically deleted without any effort made to determine its notability. Similarly if I had made no effort other Hillsong-related articles which you had PRODed would likely be deleted automatically too.

If I find any other articles mentioned by AllMusic then I will dePROD them too. Instead of giving an interested editor sufficient time to collect sources to improve those articles you have immediately moved to AfD: that, again, is your right. I believe that I have the right to dePROD articles while attempting to find sources for them.

My search may prove fruitless, but wp is improved by the attempt. Articles which otherwise were poorly sourced and now better sourced. Articles which may have been automatically deleted will now require further examination from more editors. Some may even be saved from AfD, I don't believe this to be a waste of my time otherwise I wouldn't be doing so.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 04:35, 22 June 2014 (UTC)

Actually. Wikipedia is not improved and it is a waste of time. As I stated above, you're simply de-PRODing non-notable albums. Albums that do not have significant coverage in reliable sources. Just because a track listing or album credits exist in AllMusic does not support its notability. You have the right to de-PROD, but only if but it would be better if you can find sources to support the subject's notability. You have seven days from the time I nominated the albums to find the sources. In fact, when you de-PROD I can list them for AfD and those debates can be closed in fewer than seven days if the support to delete is overwhelming. I checked for for sources many of the first albums I PRODed, but not all of the Hillsong albums. However, feel free to waste our time, it's your right and you'll earn a bad reputation, but feel free to do it. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:40, 22 June 2014 (UTC)

Hillsong albums

If you want to get us to keep these albums you will have to prove it, just as I did with The White Album (Hillsong United album), which is done as I spelled out. So, you need at least three independent reviews or you need charts for each album to prove notability.HotHat (talk) 11:10, 24 June 2014 (UTC)

See, one review is not significant coverage and two is probably debatable, so three is thrice and suffice to have significant coverage in my eyes. See (All About Jesus).HotHat (talk) 11:16, 24 June 2014 (UTC)

Even one source can be enough to prevent deletion, especially if it seems that there might be another source out there, or the album charted or is close to meeting other criteria for notability.--¿3family6 contribs 19:10, 24 June 2014 (UTC)

See WP:CCM/S for a list of reliable sources you can check.--¿3family6 contribs 01:30, 25 June 2014 (UTC)

"Australian rock" music article needs help

The "Australian rock" article needs a lot of help. It suffers form a severe lack of sourcing and the stylistics could be improved a good bit. Nonetheless, it is commendable in its scope and breadth--it has a lot of helpful information, and no doubt, has the potential to become a great article. Another editor recommended you to help out on that site. Would you be interested? Garagepunk66 (talk) 04:43, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

Certain non-music things need to be removed form "Second wave" section of Australian rock article

Let me begin by saying "thank you" for all of your help in finding references and sources for the Australian rock article. I thought I might ask your opinion on a couple of issues that I have brought up on the talk page of that article. See the "Need to eliminate irrelevant material form 'Second wave' section" thread. Rather than respond here, you can put your comments there. I think that you will agree, that, in the "Second wave section," there is way too much discussion about non-music subjects and it dilutes the section's effectiveness:

  • One passage carries an unnecessary reference to a famous critic, but it does nothing to demonstrate how her writings had anything to say about this music (of the second wave), so the mention of her becomes totally irrelevant. That critic already has an article devoted to her. That is good enough. Unless we can find something insightful that she actually said about the music of this period, then the anecdote should be removed.
  • Then, the section goes on and on with an overkill of superfluous ramble about magazines, publications and record companies. Discussion of publications and record companies should be brief at most (or better not at all). We could create two new separate articles: "Australian record companies of the 60s" and "Australian music publications of the 60s," and, then, take them out of the article, and place link to them down at the bottom in the addendum area.

What ends up happing is that the reader trying to learn about the music becomes distracted and bored by all of this superfluous stuff. The focus, here, should be on the music and its creators, not critics, record companies and the like. We need to make this section interesting and exciting for the rock and roll fan or person of casual interest to read--a few editors expressed this same wish in another talk thread on the same page. We should address this incredible beat boom/garage rock phenomenon that took place--and it was huge. It was historically significant--probably the largest and, debatably, most important rock explosion that ever took place in Australia (and could hold a candle with any other country, anywhere, at any time), yet the article makes the period (after mention of the British bands' visits) sound dull.

One reason I put the discussion of the garage thing above the laundry list of names of bands was to get straight to the thematic gist of the period--which is absolutely key to its understanding (most of the bands of this were rock and roll--a lot less pop than the Bee Gees, so I made a transition, so that the reader doesn't get the false impression that this was a lightweight period). The book by Marks and McIntyre stresses the garage phenomenon in Australia and New Zealand and its fundamental importance--essential reading. People will be surprised to find out that much of what later bands such as the Saints were doing was infuenced by this period.

If we were to place the "garage" paragraph back where I placed it, then we could remove the red-letter bands (they do undermine the importance of this paragraph). Some of the famous bands in the "laundry list" paragraph were hard-rocking garage rock. So we could transfer their names into the garage paragraph, thus justifying its priority location. Then, we could create an interesting discussion of many of the bands and artists listed. Rather than merely list them, we could create an interesting and compelling narrative, replete with historical facts and anecdotes about the bands and their music. Tell me what you think. Musician notability

Hello, thank you for your contributions to Dave Jenkins' page.

However, you have been asked to note that Dave does not meet Wiki's notability requirements.

You suggested that he met criteria 1, 4, and 6, however none of these are correct: Dave is not the *subject* of press or coverage, nor is he a *member* of a notable band or ensemble.

If you wish to discuss this, please do it here, and do not continue to edit war in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Walkabout12 (talkcontribs) 19:20, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

  • The more that I research the less certain I am that the primary image of the cover art is actually the right one. I am fairly certain that the image with the panel van is actually the release by Arcadia/Evageline Records - what do you think? 08:45, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
    • I can vaguely recall reading one of the references saying that the album charted but can't recall where I saw that.. Dan arndt (talk) 09:15, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
  • I've been trying to confirm that Faulkner actually wrote "Monkey's Wedding" - APRA doesn't have him listed & it only appears that AllMusic has Faulkner credited for the song. There is a traditional folk song by the same name but as I can't find a copy of the Gurus lyrics it is impossible to compare and see if they are the same. Any thoughts on how I can track it down? Hey, I've gone through the page to see if there was anything else that needed to be done. The "Producer of the Year" box had last years' winner and nominees so I updated it. The only other thing I thought I would mention is that the award for "Best Video" is listed on the ARIA Awards website as an Artisan Award. Should it be merged with the other Artisan prizes? Other than that everything else seems to be in great order! DonEd (talk) 04:19, 10 October 2014 (UTC)

Always glad to help. Thanks to you too! DonEd (talk) 04:52, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
I see the predicament here (in regards to the Sia Best Cover Art nomination)... According to the official ARIA Award rules (from 2011) the winner is the person who has "overall responsibility for the album covers' design concept." I would assume that whoever submitted 1000 forms of Fear for nomination would have put Zoë Zag's name forward in order to meet the aforementioned rule. So I would use Zag's name as the nominee and maybe have a little foot note to point out that some sources cite Sia as a cover designer. Is there a way to find the album footnotes (the ones that usually come with the booklet of the album) online? Maybe that can give an official ruling. I'll try to do a little digging to see if I can come up with something. Hope this helped! Let me know if you need anything else! DonEd (talk) 07:08, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
I found this website with the cd booklet images in the form of a YouTube clip (here's the link: http://www.2kmusic.com/en/webvideo/sia/0pjGWsngLLs/sia-1000-forms-of-fear-booklet-album-outlook-back-cover). You'll have to fast forward it to 52 seconds to see the cover art bit. It says that Zoe Zag only made the font (like you said). It also mentions a person called Anita Marisa Boriboon as one of the cover designers. This is all a bit confusing really. I think go with what the ARIA website says and put a footnote to mention Sia and Anita as the designers according to all these reliable sources. Again, hope that was helpful. DonEd (talk) 07:17, 11 October 2014 (UTC)

I've re-opened this discussion. I think that the creation of a dab page changes the discussion, so I am inviting the discussants to reconsider this move. Regards, Ground Zero | t 12:30, 17 September 2014 (UTC)

I LOVE what you're doing with the Geoff Bullock article. Just wanted to thank you personally for your research and edits there. If you want, I can help you with information for a discography section for that article. Just let me know. Jair Crawford (talk) 16:34, 23 October 2014 (UTC)

I'd love to but I've never edited an article that extensively before. I'm not familiar enough with the syntax to start a discography section. I can do some research on albums though. Jair Crawford (talk) 05:47, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

Citations at LRB

The Little River Band article appears to be a place that you never visit; and, boy, does it show. Unlike the articles that you have edited, you could fire a shotty at this article, and not hit a citation. Could be bad for your monitor! Maybe you really hate that band, or you are just too (edit) busy. Anyway, they really need you, even if you don't need them.

I intend to re-write the second half of the lead, and your input will be requested at a couple of points in the process. Feezo is on board, as you already know, so rest assured the resulting content will be impressive by the end of the process. My continued respect to you for your (many) good points. Happy (belated) New Year

I was hoping that I might get some of your expert assistance in a musical matter. Recently an editor has been placing notability tags on almost all the releases by Jebediah and End of Fashion (as well as some of The Vines), together with Soulparadox we have removed them, as they weren't really justified however having a look at the articles they are fairly brief and could do with some expanding/referencing. Farnham & Durbin "Softly Whispering I Love You"

Hello. I hope this makes sense:

I've just researched and written about this record here: http://www.poparchives.com.au/2665/johnny-farnham-allison-durbin/softly-whispering-i-love-you

(My website also hosts Barry Mackay's Go-set chart pages at http://www.poparchives.com.au/gosetcharts)

The first feedback I got about it was from an Allison Durbin fanatic and collector who couldn't recall or find the record.

Strange thing is that now I can't find any trace of this record either, apart from (1) the Go-set charts (2) the "Together" album page (also mentioned under the entry for the song). It doesn't appear on any other Australian charts or discographies that I have access to.

Lyn50 (talk) 00:51, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

Solved: it's an error by the compiler of the online Go-set charts. He's fixing it. There never was a version by Durbin & Farnham.
Lyn50 (talk) 04:33, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
Yes, poparchives is my site. I wrote the page. I have emailed the compiler (whom I know well) and he realised his error and is fixing it soon (some log-in difficulties for him which my developer is trying to fix today). It was indeed a transcription error. If you look at my (poparchives) page now, I've updated with the heading "THE RECORD THAT NEVER WAS!". http://poparchives.com.au/2665/johnny-farnham-allison-durbin/softly-whispering-i-love-you
I'll probably transfer the history of the other versions over to my blog when I get a chance.
And yes, it should've shown "The Congregation". The Farnham-Durbin Softly Whispering's supposed 3-month run on Go-set coincided with Congregation's run on other Aussie charts. Note also that Congregation's versiont does not appear at all on the online Go-set chart now, when it did quite well on the capital cities chart. You'd expect it to have made an impression on the Go-set chart, as it did, as it appeared in the original magazine.
Apart from this, there is absolutely no evidence anywhere else of this single existing. It seems to go back to the Go-set chart error. It's not on any other chart, or discography, or label discography. or book, or website. If you search artists + song title you'll find mainly sites that have cut & pasted from the "Together" Wikipedia page and the song's Wikipedia page. And those Wp pages are sourced from the Go-set chart.
It is unfortunate, as you say, that this will be online... forever.
Lyn50 (talk) 00:25, 25 January 2015 (UTC)
Sorry I should've said that the Go-set charts are hosted at my site (I am Lyn Nuttall) but compiled and maintained by Barry McKay. It used to be a separate site and I just gave him space. You'll notice the Go-set URL starts with www.poparchives......
I spent many hours researching the song before one of my readers alerted me to the error (he is credited at the page).
Thank you. I appreciate your work and your comments. Glad to have this cleared up. You may have noticed that the online Go-set charts have now been amended as well (link). I have moved my data to my blog poparchivesblog.blogspot.com.au/ but left the page at my site (with a link to my blog) in case anyone still searches for the record. Fortunately, my page is already appearing near the top of Google results so that might be help set the record straight. All the best.

Paul Kelly

There's a claim on PK's talk page that the lead has been plagiarised from another website. My thoughts are that it is the otherwise around but thought you might want to check, otherwise it could affect the article's GA status.... Dan arndt (talk) 12:21, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

The Odd Wrinkle

Ok, In answer to your questions (to the best of my ability):

  1. "Jerks of Attention" was released as a single in late 1996 (check [1], (band's management agency) and [2] but the real kicker is Discogs (check the CD cover - which gives the copyright as being 1996)). However given it was recorded in August 1996 in Melbourne it is highly unlikely that it was released 12 August 1996, I'm thinking that a December release date fits better with the facts.
  2. Album "was recorded between March and May 1997". This sort of fits in with the fact that "Teflon" was released in March 97 but its still a fairly tight timeframe.
  3. "Double-platinum" - I agree that Take40 is not reliable source for certifications. There are a number of other sources [3], [4], [5] and [6] that support the the claim.

Dan arndt (talk) 12:21, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

That's an interesting question. As far as I can see there doesn't seem to be any apparent connection between Reg Presley and Jebediah. The Troggs or Presley don't appear to have been in Australia in early 1997 (when "Invader" was likely to have been written). He would have been around 56 and the band members would have been only around 20. My only other thoughts are that maybe they used some of Presley's lyrics in the song and that it was away of acknowledging his input (unfortunately I can't find any songs by Presley called "Invader") or that there is simply no connection whatsoever.Dan arndt (talk) 03:27, 29 January 2015 (UTC)

Harpooned

Made the executive decision - this was released as an EP not a single. Must have missed the move in May 2009. Just checked and the disambiguation page for Harpoon didn't even make mention of it ('shame'), so we'll just need to fix all the links everywhere to the new title.Dan arndt (talk) 05:10, 30 January 2015 (UTC)

Shambles

  • There was a special limited edition release issued by Murmur, at the time of the original release. Hey Bob!

Just a quick comment - a rhythm guitar actually refers to a guitar playing technique as opposed to it being an actual instrument (i.e. an electric guitar can and often is played rhythmically). Dan arndt (talk) 07:12, 12 February 2015 (UTC)

Still looking for more family info - sty tuned. Dan arndt (talk) 01:40, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Have started the motion to rename the article back to Kevin... BTW I think that Familar Stranger should be titled Familar Stranger (Bob Evans album), which I know is confusing but it does relate to the name of the artist on the album title. Dan arndt (talk) 05:39, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

COI

I'm guessing that you feel that editor should have provided their sources for all that personal information. My guess is that the editor found all that information on the internet but was just too slack to cite their sources...but that's just a guess. Dan arndt (talk) 08:53, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

Such a suspicious mind - thought I'd earned the benefit of doubt (just kidding - trust no one). Dan arndt (talk) 22:48, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
Could well be a relation (on her maternal side) however looking at the original version it didn't contain any potential bias. I think that as per Chuq's comments that the whole AfD process was poorly handled by the nominator - slapping an AfD notice 1/2hr after the article was created (particularly when it was a novice editor), then again AKS.9955 has 'form' for this type of behaviour (if you check his talk page). Anyway the upside is that the article has been knocked into pretty good shape, if I do say so myself. Dan arndt (talk) 02:13, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Gyroscope

I agree it is most likely that "Doctor Doctor" came from the EP Driving for the Storm / Doctor Doctor rather than Sound Shattering Sound. The indication is that the song didn't chart but did poll on the Hottest 100. I'm satisfied if you want to change the discography to reflect that. Looking at the article on Sound Shattering Sound its not indicated as being a single from that album. BTW I'm feeling conflicted as to whether to concentrate working on Gyroscope or Grinspoon (which do you want to collaborate on?). Dan arndt (talk) 05:47, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

  • Sorry been a bit preoccupied in r/l - moving house. Will update when I get some free time. Essentially in 2012 the band's guitarist Zoran was in a major motorcycle accident - shattered both his legs, as a result the band went into hiatus whilst he recovered. In 2014 they announced they would be undertaking a major tour - the anniversary of their 2004 album, Sound Shattering Sound. Not certain whether they are looking at recording any more songs or touring. Will see what I can find out.Dan arndt (talk) 00:27, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
delayed response - the Best of technically was an official release (i.e. It was released by a major label - who had the rights to the songs, under the band's contract) it was just done without advising the band and therefore didn't have their agreement (not that it apparently was required). I'm not certain that after it's initial run whether Warners stopped printing any more copies but it is hard to find anywhere now. It is piece of the band's history and worth noting.Dan arndt (talk) 22:52, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

Since Doyle had liver cancer in his final months, many have assumed that he died of liver cancer. He didn't. He suffered a haemorrhage in his esophagus, and was flown by air ambulance to hospital, but died four days later. I know this is completely OR, however I was hoping we could find a slightly different wording. At Jimmy Doyle article, I chose to avoid stating a cause of death deliberately to avoid this issue. We could change it back as one solution. Another is to state that Doyle "died of complications from liver cancer" which would be more accurate. Your discretion and cooperation in this matter would be appreciated. CaesarsPalaceDude (talk) 18:30, 1 May 2015 (UTC)

Mary Cecil Allen

thanks, yes it seems like the photo is from Ivy's personal collection. I think someone blogged about it and used the pic, which was then used on her WP page. another editor added it (I noticed she adds pics to other articles too). I wasn't sure about the copyright permissions for the copy held by the NLA (Ivy's), so hadn't used it. I ordered her books but haven't read them yet (was offline for a while after having my appendix out unexpectedly). I saw that Anne Rees (who wrote one paper about MCA in the refs) is now studying her PhD on Australian artists in America at this period so I think she may write about MCA at some point in future. https://anu-au.academia.edu/AnneRees also, I'd be interested to see if TarraWarra have any info/works as they collected modern art at that time, I tried a quick search but couldn't find anything. I was thinking of contacting them to see if they can send me any links/info they might have. I've been adding some MCA info to my evernote, not sure if you can see this: https://www.evernote.com/pub/aliak77/marycecilallen Kathodonnell (talk) 07:07, 19 May 2015 (UTC)

thanks, feeling much better now. I think the May 1936 one is the better photo of her - it's a shame about the picture quality though! Kathodonnell (talk) 12:32, 19 May 2015 (UTC)

Disruptive Behaviour at Ayers Rock (band)

Sir, I have posted a complaint about your disruptive editing at Feezo's talk page, and I have requested his or another admin's attendance at that article. CaesarsPalaceDude 06:41, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

According to Richard Wilkins autobiography, Black Ties, Red Carpets, Green Rooms, he was responsible for signing the group to Sony Music. Dan arndt (talk) 05:29, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

  • Started playing around with the article on Naomi Wenitong as it was a little sparse in comparison with Stacey's article. Feel free to show me your magic. Dan arndt (talk) 07:07, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
  • I can help for both of these too, will do some searches tonight (might just be night edits/lunchtime due to work). I've asked if people from the women in art/music want to help too, so there may be some edits from others. they may have questions, so I've asked them to post on the talk pages if so Kathodonnell (talk) 07:51, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

You could use this [7] or [8] or [9]. None of which are particular great but you might be able to use something out of them.Dan arndt (talk) 03:54, 3 June 2015 (UTC)

  • Is it Jex or Mart Saarelahat - according to APRA the songwriting credits are for M. Saarelahat. Dan arndt (talk) 04:47, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
  • I think that there probably needs to be more about Randy Jacobs influence on the album. Dan arndt (talk) 12:22, 3 June 2015 (UTC)

I just noticed that the OHB have released a new album, their first in over 14 years. The article however is fairly poor and unreferenced. Dan arndt (talk) 07:16, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

Heathcote

His birth name is Stephen not Steven, according to school records (ORS) and any of the numerous dance programs, as well as book and magazine references. Dan arndt (talk) 01:57, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

Trust me on this one, the sources I have are fairly close to the subject and his birth name is Stephen.Dan arndt (talk) 06:57, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

Large-scale plagiarism at Spectrum article

Are you aware that the Spectrum article is essentially an edited version of the Milesago entry. Even if we assume that Kimball, himself, is responsible for both versions, that still would be self-plagiarism and still a problem. Should I raise it at WikiProject: Australian music? I think it is about time someone tackled this, but I'm involved with other projects at the moment. CaesarsPalaceDude (talk) 02:57, 21 June 2015 (UTC)

Crowded House

Did you note that Crowded House's List of Awards is being delisted, thought you & I might see what we can do to rectify this matter. Dan arndt (talk) 09:50, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

I note that there is no mention of their Juno Award nominations (1989, 1990), Q Award (1990), NZ Music Awards, VMAs, as well as their 12th ARIA in 2010. Dan arndt (talk) 12:12, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
I'm not certain whether the list should include that two CH albums were included in the Hottest 100 albums of all time. What are your thoughts?
they also won several of The Age EG Music Awards, notably in 2006. [10]. Still struggling to find what the exact award was - it was for Woodface see [11]. Dan arndt (talk) 06:54, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
still searching, did find that they won a Helpmann Award in 2008.Dan arndt (talk) 06:47, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

Is having the appearance of CH's songs in the respective Hottest 100s really necessary or appropriate in this list? I think that there is already an overwhelming number of awards and award nominations without their inclusion. Your thoughts? Dan arndt (talk) 07:07, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

What are your thoughts about putting all the awards into a single sortable table, as suggested? Dan arndt (talk) 05:27, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
Was just looking at similar FL and one of the most recent List of awards and nominations received by Lana Del Rey promoted April 2015, has each of the different awards separated into separate tables, even where there is only a single nomination - none of which are sortable. In fact none of the featured list of awards and nominations for musicians appears in the form as outlined in the comments. Is this just one reviewers personal preference or is there a common standard? Dan arndt (talk) 06:16, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

The infobox is missing both the Helpmann and EG Awards both of which were included in the overall total. Dan arndt (talk) 22:57, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

I can't see what else to pick up in a copy-edit, can you? Dan arndt (talk) 08:06, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

I'm struggling to see what else we can do.... Dan arndt (talk) 13:12, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

MotherWolf

All this research got me thinking - there was one other Aussie band that had a FL delisted and given the passage of time was it worth resurrecting the list back to its former status - what are your thoughts? Dan arndt (talk) 02:21, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

Sorry managed to get myself sidetracked on other issues. I've searched high & low for any reference to RS Awards - as far as I can find the formal RS Awards (Aus) didn't start until 2010, which means most WM releases missed out. Unless they were more informal, will have to go through back copies in the library. If the were US then I got no hope. I was thinking of moving it to a separate page so we can work on lead etc. Dan arndt (talk) 11:09, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Was also looking at Wolfmother discography, which was nominated as a FLC but the nominator failed to make the last changes requested. Might be a better start than doing their awards.... Dan arndt (talk) 08:05, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
Have you got a quick way of identifying all the dead links in the article? Also need to weed out all the blog references etc.Dan arndt (talk) 04:37, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
Have gone through all the references and fixed them, however I have left the ARIA reports for you (as I didn't want to have all the fun). What other tasks need to be done. Dan arndt (talk) 09:40, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
Been checking and it appears that Wolfmother have charted on numerous charts [12], which just reflects how many US charts there are. Do we list all the appearances or just the Top 200? Dan arndt (talk) 10:56, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
My personal preference would be to leave all the charts in (I know that its more than 10) and then see if as part of the FLC review it is required to be reduced in size. However going through all the existing FL discographies it is pretty well plain to see that everyone of them is restricted to ten charts or less. I would probably include Austria ahead of Denmark - as they charted higher in Austria. Dan arndt (talk) 06:00, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

I definitely would include Canada, particularly given the 'Gold' record status As far as I can determine he prepared artwork for "Heavy Weight" but wasn't the video director. As New Crown was released digitally on Wolfmother's Bandcamp site, it is unlikely that it was ever released separately as a single. The only conclusive fact I can find is that they released a 'lo-fi' video for the song. Dan arndt (talk) 07:10, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

I added to your sandbox the original album table, which had 21 chart positions (just for comparison)... Maybe we include a footnote which comments on the charting of the albums on the US Rock Album charts and the UK Rock charts - what do you think. Dan arndt (talk) 07:58, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
Changed my mind - exclude Canada and use the chart in your sandbox. Struggle to see how Wolfmother didn't chart in Canada but still recieved 'gold' record status. Might think about including a footnote. Dan arndt (talk) 08:02, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
"Heavy Weight", as the track was released as part of New Crown on the band's bandcamp website on 23 March 2014 (it could be purchased separately or as part of the album) and only the album was every released on vinyl and CD. It is highly unlikely that it was officially 'released' as a single. The only confusion may have arisen when the band released a video for the song and the preception was that it was released as a single. I can't find anything on the various band websites that indicate that it was a separate release. Dan arndt (talk) 02:04, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
  • So what do you think - have we satisfied the FL criteria? Are we ready to lodge and see how it fares? Dan arndt (talk) 01:57, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
OK will defer to your wisdom on that aspect. (BTW what's a webcite). Dan arndt (talk) 02:06, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
I've lodged a request with the Guild of Copy Editors to undertake a review of both this article and CH awards, as there is currently a backlog of articles there and it may take some time before an editor undertakes a review. Dan arndt (talk) 02:32, 1 July 2015 (UTC)

Is there any other work that needs addressing? If not then I guess we wait for the GoCE to review and undertake any c/e before we lodge...? Dan arndt (talk) 02:51, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

GAN time

I have nominated Ayers Rock (band) for GA review, and entered a note re your co-nomination. Thanks for expressing our gratitude to Minneapolis. CaesarsPalaceDude (talk) 23:34, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
