Have been working away at getting this one fixed but I'll have to say that my eyes are glazing over & the weekend is around the corner. Want to take over whilst I have a break? I see you've been busy fixing up a variety of articles - not bad, not bad at all. Dan arndt (talk) 05:36, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- reckon we should stick this up on wiki or do you think we need to insert more references continue to format/add? Dan arndt (talk) 04:54, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the to do list:
- Have tried creating an infobox but the list is long...
- Hoping you could help on beefing up the lead
- After having a look at the other 'lists of...' you are right they should probably focus on releases relevant to PK (but after all that research i can't bear to part with them. Will replace => with left to join.
- Hoping, once again you could put some words together apart the PK&M/PK&CG issue
- Not certain what to do with the gaps in chronology as some of that time PK was doing purely acoustic one man shows - what I do like is the timeline graph that some of the other 'lists of members...' article use - if I could only work out how to do one (and I thought wikitables were a handful)
- As for the title I think that I'd go with your suggestion - List of Paul Kelly's bands and members
- You are right in that there is no agreed format with these type of articles so I say we go with what we think is appropriate. Dan arndt (talk) 00:46, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the to do list:
I couldn't believe that anyone ever tried to AfD the article - do you think that we have sufficiently upgraded the article to at least a 'B' status. Was thinking about creating a separate discography article since McWomble has done such a good job at creating all those wikitables - though some of the albums, particularly A.O. Mod. T.V. Ver, Xenophobia (Why?) and Trash The Planet deserve separate items as well.Dan arndt (talk) 00:18, 12 November 2008 (UTC) Is this another joint effort from the old team?
- Go ahead and fix the songwriting credits - I'm going to call it a day - good work on tracking down the Vasicek link - sent email. Dan arndt (talk) 07:56, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
INXS article
Hi, thanks for the invitation to collaborate on improving the article. My available time for Wikiplay is spotty so I can't commit to anything organized, but I will keep an eye on it and help where I can. I will address your concerns on the edits to the article itself on that talk page. Jgm (talk) 18:34, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
It might be tough getting a consensus about the INXS lead since it appears you have an Australian perspective, while I have a Canada/US perspective. From a North American perspective, I wouldn't mention Simple Simon or Just Keep Walking in the lead. The first appearance on the charts over here was The One Thing, and even that didn't chart terribly high. I would focus on the late 80s/early 90s - from What You Need. But that's purely a North American perspective - I can understand in Australia they came into the public consciousness earlier. To keep it less wordy, I wouldn't bother mentioning the record labels they were on in the lead - leave that info for the body. Jav72 (talk) 21:20, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Talk about the old crew getting back together - have started working on the band's early history - when I get a hold of the other biographies it should not be so dependent upon my current source (hopefully) - certainly has the potential to make it to GA status - can't say much for the discography page (a lotta work needed there). I see that you blanked User:Shaidar cuebiyar/Sandbox, would you like it deleted?--Megaman en m (talk) 09:30, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Found this article as needing immediate attention by Wiki:Oz Music. I have reformatted the infobox, members list & discography but need to fill in more information on the band. I found a reference at poparchives which suggests that more info can be found on the band in Ian McFarlane's Encyclopedia of Australian Rock & Pop - as I am not certain how you work the wayback machine, thought you could help (unfortunately Nostaglia Central is down at the moment). You might even be able to find some chart references for their songs in the Kent Music Report. Didn't think that you had much going over Xmas. Dan arndt (talk) 05:18, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Am having a lot of trouble trying to track down whether MacFarlane did an article on Machinations - have tried and tried but just keep on getting sidetracked reading different articles. Could you also check to make sure I've got the chart references correct. Thanks. Dan arndt (talk) 07:12, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
Self-assessed EP as 'B' class following updates - see if you agree or not. Would appreciate it if you have the time to check all the chart postions (am fairly certain that I got them right but wouldn't mind a second opinion). May have a look at Lin Buckfield as she changed careers ( similar to Karen Ansel) and went on to become a Walkley Award winning journalist. Dan arndt (talk) 06:21, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
- Knew that you couldn't resist fixing it up a little.... Dan arndt (talk) 07:51, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Do you want to give this one another shot at becoming a FL? Dan arndt (talk) 07:28, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
Midnight Oil discog
Hey, thanks for the help on the article. I was just wondering if you happen to know where we can find Australian certifications from before 1997? They don't seem to published by ARIA on their website and i'm sure Midnight Oil would have a few. Cheers k-i-a-c (hitmeup - the past) 04:31, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the lengthy reply, you made some great points. I began doing it just because i kind of thought the band deserved its own discog page, look at all their releases! Then it's gone onto FLC potential yes, just because it was pretty easy to find the sources. Just the other day though i found another 15 singles that weren't listed in the band's article originally, and also all these music videos come with the singles, so its got a bit harder.
- The "-" should be a "—", that's a mistake on my part. I'll also remove the line out of tables where it doesn't apply, makes sense. I'll add the "—" into the certs if it comes close to nominating it for FLC - hopefully by then i'll have all/most of the relevant certifications filled.
- I generally work with seperate Notes sections until they're complete. Chances are the certification will end up in the table and so on, then i'll move it to the bottom if necessary.
- Music Video directors are going to be quite problematic. Though i do remember reading something on discogs that said one of the DVDs listed all of the directors, so if i can find a copy of the liner notes or someone who has it, then that could hopefully help. I actually got The Living End discography to FLC and i just didn't recieve any support, no real reasons, apart from not having the directors. Felt a bit bitter about it because every second featured discog is referenced VERY badly in this area, or they aren't listed at all.
- You don't happen to (or know where to i find someone who does) have a copy of the Kent Music Report Australian Chart Book 1970–1992 do you? I used the reference from the original table on the Midnight Oil page, and am not sure if the book features the certifications? It may help.
Further reply
- I have researched The Dead Heart a bit as well, it looks to be referred to as an EP enough times to warrant it's mention. I'll add it to the table.
- Other appearance is kind of a grey area. The Discography style page clearly says discogs should not include "Non-original or previously-released material used on soundtracks, trailers, commercials, or any other compilation releases." So basically "Beds Are Burning" and "Warakurna" should not be listed anywhere because they were on Diesel and Dust, only songs that have not seen a previous release. The BAB one you have listed would however be notable, because it is a remix.
- I think Cemetary was only ever a single, not exactly an EP. Discogs only lists a single version. However, AllMusic and Discogs both confirm that the play time is around 20 minutes, and if you go to Extended play they mention, "an EP has around 10–28 minutes of music, a single has up to 10 minutes, and an album generally has 30–80 minutes." Though i'd say we just leave it as a single because this may be delving into original research by using the times as a guide and making our own consensus.
- I might give the library a try later in the week, i never thought of that, might help. Thanks. k-i-a-c (hitmeup - the past) 03:28, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Oils Videos
Was still searching for details on video directors and came up with what appears to be a definitive list of all the Oils' videos made. You might want to update the discography page to reflect this list - will continue searching for directors details (for this and others <sigh>). Dan arndt (talk) 00:15, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
Hey, just letting you know that WP:SLASH requires us to seperate words from the slash with a space on either side. eg. "Andrew de Groot/Paul Elliot" → "Andrew de Groot / Paul Elliot". Nice work with the directors. k-i-a-c (hitmeup - the past) 01:55, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
- Saw you made the change from 'Ray Argyle' to 'Ray Argall' - the DVD for 20,000 Watt RSL has it correctly spelt but for some reason (mainly that KIA already had it as Argyle) I ddn't change it. Anyway was googling Argall and found that he also directed some HG videos (no details as to which ones) if you find out I have a list in my sandbox that you can add them to (so many blanks). End of Year Charts
Did you see the plea for help by Gibbsy who wanted to place a template on all the relevant songs - though as we don't have anything in particular to do (lol) that we might lend a hand - what do you think. Dan arndt (talk) 01:06, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- Always nice to know someone is looking over my shoulder (BTW all the chart positions aren't accurate - haven't gone through and checked/validated the info - only the lists). Dan arndt (talk) 01:52, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Cathy Wayne gets 20,700 views
Congratulations on your Cathy Wayne hook. As shown on the DYK Stats page, the hook drew 20,700 views to the article while it was on DYK. That's the 4th best ever for a non-lead hook. Top 4 of all-time listed below. Keep up the good work! Cbl62 (talk) 02:49, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Models - Buster who?
Just a quick reply - Mark Hough is listed in the Credits for Cut Lunch as Buster Stiggs - he was also the drummer for The Swingers. Have found a good source for these at Band 2 Band. Dan arndt (talk) 00:27, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Bantam Had
Have run into a similar dead end with this one - am trying to locate a scan of the back cover of the album - hopefully that might have some songwriting credits. Dan arndt (talk) 23:59, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
Evolution
Have just created an article for Models' Media (as a stub at this stage) and the only song I have yet to find the songwriting credits for is "Evolution" - so if in your travels you manage to dind some info - feel free to add it. Dan arndt (talk) 01:47, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Found
Have found the songwriting credits for both songs - so no need to worry. Haven't started looking yet for certifications but given the difficulty we have had in the past with finding any credits from 80s bands I am not holding out much hope. Dan arndt (talk) 02:43, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
