Was putting together an article on Maurice Frawley but when I was going through the credits on the Paul Kelly and the Dots' albums I noticed that he wasn't included in the credits despite being a member of that band and the Paul Kelly Band (between 1980-1984), and co-writing "Look So Fine, Feel So Low". 2010 ARIA Hall of Fame inductees

I see the latest HoF inductees have been announced. The Church are a long time favourite of mine, and it would appear the main problem with their article is just referencing. The Models is a good example of well prepared article (kudos to the editors who worked on that one). The Loved Ones is probably the one most in need of work - expansion, referencing etc. I suppose that we could also work on Johnny Young. Your thoughts? The Loved Ones

In the article it states that their debut single was "Everlovin' Man", released on Astor Records. All the references I can find indicate the band's first single was "The Loved One". A good reference is Rob Lovett's interview. When I've checked the details of the Astor single (such as Milesago and a 45 Discography for Astor Records) they all come up with it being released in 1975. Your thoughts? Have just been checking an interview with Rob Lovett which appears to indicate that Kevin Murphy was the drummer with the Wild Cherries at that time not Anderson. Another interview this time with Kim Lynch also indicates that Ian Clyne found Anderson (who was studying at Monash University at the time) and that only Lovett was a member of The Wild Cherries. Doing more research it would appear that the first drummer was Terry Knott who was replaced by Anderson before the band did any recordings. Which fits in with the Lynch interview, where he states "It was really hard to get a drummer - we tried another guy earlier...an Architecture student...that didn't work." Interesting enough I checked the Milesago entry for The Wild Cherries and can not find any reference to Anderson as being a member of the band, which seems to confirm that Lovett was the only member of that band. Dan arndt (talk) 05:18, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

Trawling through various sites it would appear that Blueberry Hill and Loved Ones are essentially one and the same. The confusion probably arises from the fact that the cover just states 'The Loved Ones' with no more information apart from "Recorded, Processed, Pressed and Issued Through The Australia Wide Facilities of W&G Records". The track listing for the EP was "Ever Lovin' Man"; "Blueberry Hill"; "The Loved One"; "This Is Love". My best guess is because the only new track was "Blueberry Hill" that it was colloquially referred to as Blueberry Hill. Offically it should be a self-titled EP, The Loved Ones. Interesting enough, In my research I found two different listings for the The Loved Ones EP - check out Discogs which has the track listing as "The Loved One"; "This Is Love"; "Ever Lovin' Man"; "Blueberry Hill" (Catalogue WG-E.2712). All I can surmise is that, like you, there was another EP issued in 1967 after De Lacey joined the group (Catalogue WG-E-2744) which has the following tracks: "Sad Dark Eyes"; "A Love Like Ours"; "The Loverly Car"; "Love Song". As they have two different catalogue numbers I have included it within the discography. My guess is that WG Records were trying to make the most $$ out of the band's releases. Unfortunately I don't have access to Spencer's book, so apart from the sources such as Pop Archives I can't find any other evidence of the EP. Dan arndt (talk) 04:03, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

I'm fairly sure that you'll find that the D.O.B came from the back cover of one of their releases, which also incorrectly states Humphrys name as Humphries. Whilst indvidually they can be found at Jolley's website, I'm sure I saw the actually back cover somewhere else, will do a bit more looking around and see whether I can't find it. Ok now I can see why Humphrys birth date is confusing. I managed to track down a website, Gerry's Last Gig, which includes a copy of the cover of Humphrys' funeral booklet/program - which indicates he was born in 1941. This would make Humphrys 64 years old when he died. Whilst you have one Age article states he was 62 and born in 1943, whilst another states he was 63, which means he would have to have been born in 1942. I'm going to go with the funeral information and stick my head out and say D.O.B was 1941. I'm guessing that Humphrys in 1966 wanted to people to think he was younger than he actually was... 100 Best Australian Albums

I noticed that Creswell, Mathieson & O'Donnell have released a new book 100 Best Australian Albums, haven't been able to pin down the actual list but was wondering whether it was deserved of a separate article. Alternatively we should check to see that the top 100 albums all have their own articles and possibly ensure that a comment is included in those album articles for at least the top 10. Your thoughts? Art vs Science Reflist

Hi mate, thanks for all the explanation about the reflist in respect of the Art vs Science page. Your explanation helped a lot. However, (and I only discovered this by accident yesterday) the {{Reflist|2}} has the same effect as you described - that is, it will automatically adjust the reflist to 3 columns if the viewer's browser is optimised for this. I learnt this because my browser (Firefox on a widescreen monitor) automatically changed it to 3 columns... So we're both heading in the same direction and have the same result! Jenny Morris OAM is a New Zealand-born Australian pop, rock singer-songwriter. Her first success came with New Zealand band The Crocodiles, who had a top 20 hit single with “Tears”. Re-locating to Sydney, Australia in February 1981, she was a backing vocalist for various groups and formed a trio, QED, in 1983.

Morris provided backing vocals for INXS on their 1983 album, The Swing, she then recorded a duet with lead singer, Michael Hutchence, on a cover of Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood’s hit “Jackson”, it was included as a bonus track on the April 1984 (cassette only) INXS EP, Dekadance, which reached number two on the Australian Kent Music Report Albums Chart. Morris worked on their 1985–1986 Listen Like Thieves World Tour.

Her solo career includes top five Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Albums with Shiver in 1989 and Honeychild in 1991, and her top five ARIA Singles are “She Has to Be Loved” and “Break in the Weather”. These albums and singles also peaked in the top ten on the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ) charts.

Morris has won two ARIA Music Awards for ‘Best Female Artist’ in 1987 and 1988 and was nominated for the same award in 1992. Shaidar, what can of worms have you opened here? It would appear that a significant amount of her bio information, whilst found at the preceding editors website, can also be found at a number of other sources. I don't think that the editor has any proprietary rights to that information if it can be found & verified at other sources. Essentially if the facts are correct they can ussually be verified from other sources. As long as the wording is not a direct copy then there shouldn't be any copyright infringement issue (but I'm not a lawyer). It should be worth noting that I did get in contact with Jenny Morris' management when I was seeking the use of an image of Morris. At that time I did enquire and asked them to check the article to see if there were any inaccurate statements or facts and that they confirmed that it was all good. Just for clarification: close paraphrasing can also constitute copyright infringement (beyond direct copying), but that doesn't seem at all to have been the situation here. Under the US copyright law that governs us, facts are not copyrightable. Even if they are the only source for those facts, they aren't copyrightable. Even if it turns out later that those facts are wrong, they aren't copyrightable, so long as they are presented as facts and you have good reason to believe they are. The only time facts become a concern (other than copying or closely following language) is when the facts represent creativity in selection and arrangement, and even then the facts are still free for use so long as you bring your own creative selection and arrangement to bear. I've closed the listing at CP, left a note for the IP and at the article's talk and neutralized the personal attack in the header while I was at it. Unfortunately there is no way he was born in 1964. He was only 15 (and still at high school) when he started playing with The Extremists and was 17 when he joined the Boys. He was only in his mid twenties when he died not 33. My guess is that reference you have used is incorrect. Will keep searching to see if I can find a more accurate reference. I think you're right, it's "The Authentic LP" on the cover art. I've updated the article with this. on unkut bio page it says Lyrical Commission was formed in 1999. I think I see the sentence where this should be clarified - and perhaps the culture of kings album needs a date too. I updated it - feel free to re-word it if it doesn't sound ok. Trem One, is another member of LC and a well respected hip hop artist. initially I was going to make an LC page with sections for members, but then there seemed to be enough for a separate Strut article too. Paul Kelly PR

I meant the bands are called "The Dots" and "The Coloured Girls" and "The Messengers" in the second sentence of the lead (and elsewhere in the article), so I searched for each of those names and found two red links and a dab that did not list the band in question. I would be fine with redirests to his article for the first two and listing him (linked) and the band in the dab.

I did not check for "Paul Kelly and the Dots" or "Paul Kelly and the Coloured Girls" or "Paul Kelly and the Messengers" so of course these redirects all exist. I think a redirect to his article is OK (does not need to be to a section).

As for the captions and fair use, sorry to be unclear. I really meant that the more the article discusses the fair use media, the better. This does not have to be in the captions, though if there can be some sort of tie in there, that is better (but WP:CAPTION also calls for concise captions).

I'm welcome to suggestions. Just hope it's not that much work - after all, I'm aiming at this, not this (and am, or should be, busy IRL as well).
