Critically Acclaimed movies of 2007[edit]

List the movies you think are more critically acclaimed than Johnny Gaddaar.

I agree about Gandhi My Father, however Life in a metro I am not so sure.

Some contenders in my view may be Laga Chunari main daag (although not seen yet), Manorama six feet under and vanaja. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.245.0.12 (talk) 04:13, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Zinta reviews[edit]

Hi! Unfortunately I am very busy in real life and unable to provide copyedit to the article or argumentative support/comments in any of the discussions. See what I had to tell in the WT:INB.

Personally I would very much like to see the article as FA. You may try your best. Or I will try later.--Dwaipayan (talk) 19:11, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I really think it is an understatement that the Zinta article is still only a B. It is clearly way further than a GA I'm sure John Carter agrees. Why is it suddenly people are using an FA criteria for this article when there are tons of other GA's which are much less developed? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:52, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes the obsession over reliability seems to be contiuing doesn't it. I think you've done more than enough to try to prevent it. Oh my, have you ever heard of The Great Khali?. That guy freaks me out. He has to be the scariest human being I've ever seen. He looks like a genetic freak from the Incredible Hulk or some Marvel comics cartoon doesn't he. 7 ft 3 and 420 pounds -twice the weight of me!!! He weighs 30 stone!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 22:15, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah thats the thing if you edit it too much to satisfy people you end up removing content which is not good. Never mind stick with it and hope that Dwaipanc can help you promote. 25 people compared to 6 are shocked that the article not only didn't become an FA but was demoted to a B when it only had minor issues. I must admit that although I am not 100% well at present my enthusiasm for wikipedia at present is dwindling. I regularly get periods when I just can't be bothered to edit and feel tired with it real editing at all, although the deforestation article only got me to do something for a reason! I think I'll give it a break now and go and watch The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 23:09, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey I've hit the 90,000 mark today thanks to Thunderball (film). Thats a frightening figure! Yours must be at least 30,000 now isn't it? Hey nice going on Salman Khan I really love in when I revist an article after a few weeks or months and find it much better and developed!! Great I also love it when you have time to expand and create new articles rather than reverting vandals and stupid IP edits and have to discuss RS sources all the time!! His filmo is quite big isn't it -give me a buzz tomorrow if you want any articles started. Regards ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 22:22, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah hahaha. Heres the funniest image tagging I've seen all year. Santa Claus' reindeer is apparantly replaceable by a free image of santa and his reindeer because yes of course santa is always about with his reindeer for wikipedians to use their Olympus D10 cameras to snap shot on every corner of every major city around the world!! Perhaps I'll have to wait until Christmas eve and catch the big fat bearded guy as he lands on my chimney top huh? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 12:41, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ha! That guy is on cloud 9 isn;t he!! Yes i am looking forward to Christmas although I can't believe how quickly this year has gone. The older you get the quicker time seems to pass! I've just been looking at some Italian designer clothes on ebay that my sister can buy me- I must admit I am obsessed with Italian clothing -you know all handsome looking 3/4 length black leather jackets, suit jackets and faded jeans and merino sweaters etc (Bollywood style) -they look so smart, and Italian culture and people in general -check out the body on Miss Buccella (and Italian woman riding a white horse! . The Italians always look really good and their food is pretty awesome isn't it!! Pizza, lasagna, lattes, and fifty different flavours of ice cream. I'd love to move to Italy some day. One of the happiest times of my life was walking through the cobblestone streets of Amalfi walking past all those beautiful!! (but fashion concious) Italian women with the long dark hair and them smiling back at you. It really was heaven. Their films are terrific too!. I'd love to marry an Italian woman -they are so sexy don't you think?. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:32, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

UK is indeed a great place to live especially where I live -the British do seem to have a reputation of being cool and laid back don't they - even to the Americans, but the weather is often pretty bad - not warm enough for my liking. You can get some really beautiful days of sunshine here even in late autumn and then the next day will be 144% cloud cover and raining olympic swimming pools on you!!! The last few days here have been terrible!! extremely windy and it has been raining so hard that it has started off house and car alarms! in the street. I've always loved the Mediterranean! Sophia Loren was a brilliant actress I have loved every film of hers I've seen. I also of course have a thing for Claudia Cardinale. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:48, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good going. Just remember to add the film to Bollywood films of 1992 etc gracias ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 22:02, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've added one of them for you already. I don't know if you have noticed but I have revamped the Bollywood template so we now link to each year in Bollywood history. I'll let you use my Template:Blofeld. if you need a DVD rationale copy and paste Yaadein e.g here -I always use that for dvds . For an image of a dead person where fair use can be claimed click here. Just click on edit on the rationale pages and copy and paste the whole thing as you upload and just add the relevant source and title in the three places. Everything you need is here at your fingertips -I devised a way to shut up the bot and nake image taggers impressed! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 22:11, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeo I created all four of them and I also created ones for logos of companies, tv screenshots, promo photos etc. For screenshots of films click on Baldy's screenshot rationale here. I'd love to start seeing more screenshots in the film articles that don't have them -they make such a difference and bring the film to life. I'm hoping eventually we can have the film video trailer for each article. It is no different to the 30 second clips of music we are gradually having installed. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 22:19, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh yeah just copy the existing rationale and upload the better one and speedy delete the other ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 22:22, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well its the same argument as Sarvagnya and co were bringing up before. Technically no, but I certainly don't see a problem if a rationale is given to explain why it helps the article. its time wikipedia officially recognized how film and actors are interlinked and how beneficial screenshots are of key points in the actors career to their biographies. The only thing is it leaves it a target for that group to start fussing again ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 22:56, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If India was like Argentina then you could freely upload it. In Argentina copywright expires after 20 years -something I found out today after all my grief at adding fair use rationales to out do the bot!! Well try uploading the film poster image under the same name -overwriting the existing one ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 23:02, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey poor quality photo but check out my guitars in Image:Blofeldsguitars.jpg. They are both real Fender's! I often turn the stereo up and play along to entire cds and dvds and fit in lead guitar parts on classic rock tracks! Yesterday I played along with a whole The Who cd. I've even played along with Hendrix on the live at Woodstock dvd. I wish you could hear me play. I'm really pleased with my progess even though I've been playing acoustic since 7. I recently learned how to do two handed tapping which is one of the most difficult techniques. Check out this. It is a Steve Vai track and I've played my own version like this and I've almost got it nailed!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:18, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I love the spanish guitar also. I frequently steal my dads Baby Taylor guitar and play. I also love country music. That 100W amplifier is incrediblY loud though i'm not kidding. In the house I have it just below 0.1 volume any louder and the house shakes -it sounds awesome on heavy distortion!!. It would absolutely blast the roofs of the houses in the street if it was on 10. It is an amp that profesional bands would use in big indoor gigs. Often when bands play a gig like Wembley they would use 200W amps. It has a really good 60s setting on it as well -you know the kind of sound of the Beatles Day Tripper -hah yes! see it here. I love the 60s baby ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:44, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I have all of Gary Moore's tabs and Clapton. I love music with emotion and soul. Great stuff. Hey keep up the good work with Kajol then -I won't put you off! Hey do you like my user talk page? -we'll have to see about creating an article on Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain later ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:56, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Este es excellente. Ahora, necesito vender unos productos de ebay y volveré en veinte minutos continuar con mi trabajo de wikipedia. Quisiera, tambien, anadir unos articulos de los peliculas de Kajol y Bollywood este tarde. Me entiendo? Adios amigo ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 11:07, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm about to create the sixth Kajol film I've added!! What I'd like to see is if you could go through each of the filmographies and create a list of the missing films and to just go through them military style and get them onto wikipedia. Once the articles art started and the lists are filled the next step should be to develop each one. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 13:13, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll leave it up to you then to add the plots and the music details. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 13:21, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry if I haven't done things properly - anyway I'm done - Shouldn't it be Bombai Ka Baboo rather than Bambai Ka Babu? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 13:24, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think it would be a great idea to compile a list of missing films from all of the Bollywood star filmographies. This way we can clear all the red links? - articles like Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge are quite worrying!! - "the movie has very good songs" !! Now what on earth are Saravgnya and co fussing for when articles like this exist? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 13:29, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Only one more film to go now! I've continued with the Deforestation in Brazil article this afternnon its developing well seems as I have only worked on it two days- i managed to gain access to some NASA satellite images. Check Image:Deforestationriobranco.jpg -isn't it dreadful to think this is how the forest looks from space -it really is dreadful to see and I hope this article makes people more aware ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:12, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah yes enjoy your film!! All the best! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:26, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm scared! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 22:01, 3 December 2007 (UTC) Read the messages at the bottom ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 22:03, 3 December 2007 (UTC) Try seeing Nishkids message at User talk:Rianon Burnet. Oh never mind ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 22:09, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wow today has been a really scrappy day of editing. Last night I was concerned about Riannon - when I said I was scared what I meant is that somebody who I don't know suddenly starts leaving their photos on my talk page and leaving many messages and saying they think i'm extremely handsome! Imagine somebody did that to you would you think it was completely usual? When I have time I think I'll begin cleaning up amitabh's films. I added some templates yesterday but I want to make sure they all have posters, an infobox a cast section and templates. Which actor are you going to work on? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:21, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I also noted that many of the Ajay Devgan films needed a lot of work also. I don't know if you noticed but it seems many of the films are missing from the early 1990s perhaps before the actors became really famous ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:46, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeo that is pretty amazing isn't it. Respek. I didn't remove your message I moved it to the top in case she sees it tomorrow and chases up your talk page. Riana has decided not to do anything about the Bollywood blog images. I don't know if this is a good or a bad thing. Sarvagnya for somebody who kicks up a great fuss over everything doesn't seem to be much of an editor does he -he's only been here once or twice in two weeks and even then it is asking if they can be deleted. Adios amigo ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 22:26, 4 December 2007 (UTC) Thats a great start!! Great work amigo. I added a category and a few things. Does it have a logo or something? i have just changed my user setting again to chick this time - now the articles cover the enitre page it looks much different again. I've also had the coolest new carpet fitted in the room it is a royal red carpet -it looks like the posh carpet you get at film premieres. It looks great ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:51, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lovely. Preity has some committments doesn't she - with the Go Air thing as well etc. Any of the Sarvagnya group who tried to make out as if she was some clumsy stupid girl should be shot. Hey I hope you like my hyperactive eggs . LOL ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:03, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes expand it a lttle bit and then propose it. Best of luck! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:03, 5 December 2007 (UTC) Something like: Did you know The Godfrey Phillips National Bravery Awards given in India were formerly known as the Red and White Bravery Awards and its name was changed in response to protests about it being related to cigarettes? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:15, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bipasha Basu is so hot! The cast of Dhoom 2 look ridiculously good don't they. Did you know about her and Cristiano Ronaldo ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:26, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you check the trivia section of Rakesh Roshan -theres something about polishing his head with cocunut oil -is this vandalism? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:33, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wow - she looks like a goddess doesn't she. Her body reminds me of Beyonce. Just gorgeous ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:36, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Shahid can you check Hathyar. Some it says about Shilpa Shetty starring just doesn't add up. I thought she started her career around 1992 or 1993 but this is 1989. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:54, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I'be seen many cilps of it. Thats where it looks lke they are on the hills in Wales. Could you see what the problem is with the film above ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:59, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like two films exist 1989 and 2002 in which SHilpa starred but this article has the wrong info. please could you fix it? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:07, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I just had to work it out. Some fool copy and pasted info from the 2002 film into the 1989 page duh!!! There are so many film articles which are bad!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:16, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The overal quality of this encyclopedia is still very poor isn't it. I've lost count of how many articles I've come across which to be frankly honest are absolute rubbish or diappointing stubs. If you way up the amount of good articles you find in browsing compared to poor most are not anywhere near up to the standard they should be. Even articles on major American presidents etc lack enough sources and are poorly written. Some of the popular culture articles are dreadful and are nothing like what an encyclopedia should be. This site has endless potential and I know it will become greater and more prominent acorss the world in the future but it really does give me a headache to think how much needs doing!!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:55, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes of course many articles on here are excellent and there are many thousand which are indeed very good-offhand it seems like the whole encyclopedia is like this -in terms of size it makes Britanica look miniscule. However I have done a great amount of browsing over many subjects and over many parts of the world and often when you click links on good or great articles you often end of with a stub or an unreferenced article often which is rubbish! The overall percentage of stubs or badly referenced/written articles is much worse than I had previously ever thought. My ultimate aim is to have every one of these links into an equally good article. For me this is when this project will begin to show maturity when you can click a random link and have a well referenced and written work on Indian cinema and everywhere else on the site -I hate clicking links and seeing tons of tags and unencyclopedia words which make us look foolish. The biggest problem for me on here is uneveness and edits by unprofessional individuals who make it worse rather than better. I have no idea how long its going to take before this will happen and it will begin to reach a universal standard but I am certain it will be a least five -ten years before quality across the site reaches a satisfactory level. If we could attain this standard on virtually every page and with the sheer content of it growing by the day then this is site would gain a greater acknowledgement from the media and professionals I think. We'll get there eventually I'm sure - I see so much potential this is why I am glad to work on here. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:50, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey check out this. I've gone crazy with films setting up pages like British films of 1969!! Somehow I managed to make over 500 edits in only a few hours!!! And I've still got france and spain to order by year yet!!! its because I realised its almost a year since I created the first film list and i haven't bene editing them much of late ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 12:30, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Busy!!! Later I have to add a bit more to the Deforestation article too! -the competition runs out today at 23.59. Yes it is about time the content developed - the major film producers USA, UK, India, France, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Argentine, Brazil, Hong Kong and Japan should all have detailed and developed film lists and articles now which at present is not the case in terms of content. Eventually wikipedia will have articles on all of them and hopefully good ones too!! France is the huge one I'll be looking to develop in the coming weeks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 12:55, 9 December 2007 (UTC) .[reply]

Ah I don't know there are some other good improvements also. See Wikipedia:The Core Contest/Entries. 16:42, 9 December 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blofeld of SPECTRE (talkcontribs)

Thanks amigo -credit also goes to NASA !! I managed to find some superb images to illustrate it!. Yes its not a bad start -I should have perhaps devoted more time to it -I only worked on it for about three days in the two weeks but the most important parts of it are there now I think. Writing a high class article compiled from hundreds of sources which should be used on this will inevitably take longer than three days!!! Potentially this could be a great article in the future if enough time and effort is spent researching and writing it. Hey why didn't you nominate your Godrey article? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? —Preceding comment was added at 17:33, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh perhaps it will be on the main page tomorrow then. I like that Godfrey article -would be good if we could use that image of Preity being made ambassador. I just given Deforestation in Brazil a bit of a shine -it looks quite good now I hope. I may see about adding some more on NGO/ environmental efforts to protect the forests. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:03, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats on the DYK -i saw it last night. You'll have to see if you can get one on a new actor page or something. It is amazing how much is missing. Have a look at Italian films of 1950. Not only are there hhundreds of articles missing (and I need to complete filling it in but this is for only one year. 1910-present needs completing 100 years of film and there will be several thousand and that is just for Italy. France has triple the amount and then there is Hong Kong etc which only covers less than 1% of films and actors at present. If this website is to become more complete these will all need to have articles. Drwaing up the lists is the best way to set out the foundation I think to build the articles on but it would take years to make real progess by myself. I wish there were more editors like myself and Lugnuts who are interested in expanding the coverage of films -in a project with a stated 400 members there are only a handful who seem to create new articles. Eventually world film will be covered evenly and with better written articles -it is a mammoth task though - and this is just films! ♦ His Baldness ♦ Volcano? 18:41, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I guess I shouldn't worry about the red links -they'll get started eventually. But you see part of the idea of starting articles on films I haven't seen is to learn about them and the actors who starred in them. For me wikipedia is the best tool possible for broadening my knowledge of films and expanding the coverage. Perhaps some day we will be permitted to use the movie trailer on each film page in the way audio clips now appear in music articles. I'm certain this could be done ♦ His Baldness ♦ Volcano? 19:46, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted fowler's edit to the indian navigation box. Even if the "National" bravery awards aren't "national" it is still useful to link an award of national significance in the template.Perhaps you could move it to the civilian section of the template ♦ His Baldness ♦ Volcano? 10:23, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The fact that the awards are judged by people in the Indian administrative services, police and retired judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts shows it is significant don't ya think? ♦ His Baldness ♦ Volcano? 10:26, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well theres no mention in the navigation template that they are "Official" awards is there. It says national awards ♦ Count de Blofeld ♦ Talk? 11:44, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well I've reverted it for now I don't want Fowler kicking up a fuss- i personally think it would be useful to link it with the others and you should find a way of including national award of significance. Yes I contacted the box office india site but no reply - it looks like they havent' been active since April -this is when they answered the last question. Box office mojo looks a very good site for figures and is cited in many articles from films around the world. Saludos! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 12:04, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

? No I self reverted it ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 12:07, 12 December 2007 (UTC) See here. I think he just removed the template before I had a chance to. I;ve told him he needs to make it clear the navigation template is for "government awards" if he is going to fuss about "official" criteria ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 12:11, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I know the info on the site is still active -they it every day nearly, but BOI hasn't answered questions since April. I would like to know why wouldn't you? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 12:12, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

See here at BOI ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 12:14, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I totally agree with you that the info appears to be completely reliable, what I'm wondering is how they can answers tens of questions in a few days and then suddenly stop and not answer a single question in six months. i asked them a question formally and stated it is urgent but nobody responded. There doesn't appear to be anybody to get hold of on that site. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 12:19, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

Hello, got your message. I'll have a look for the links to the interview. I did a small edit on the Om Shanti Om page, the synopsis was annoying me, it was so long and tedious! I'll put the links aside and get back to you. Hope your well, kind regards. -- Pa7 17:45, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey friend. It's been so long since I last talked to you. How're you these days? Did you see Aaja Nachle? I want to see it so badly but I am so busy these days with my exams. Most of the critics have been panning the film while the audiences feedback have been mixed. OMG you have been pretty busy these days as well. You've been editing/improving so many pages and creating many new articles. Keep up the good work! LOL. BTW did you see the trailers for Tashan, Roadside Romeo & The Last Lear? All of them look really good esp. Tashan. It looks like another Dhoom kind of movie. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 18:17, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have been doing pretty well. Just a bit stressed out. LOL. I saw The Last Lear trailer on youtube as well. I don't know why they removed it. I plan to watch Aaja Nachle after my exams are over. I have missed Madhuri on screen. I have watched all her films and I am a big fan of hers. Hope she does more films. I totally agree with you. Sometimes critics don't know how to rate films. Ultimately, it is the audiences' verdicts which overpower the critics one. What? How come you already own the JWM DVD?? It's probably the pirated ones.. LOL.. Did you see the trailer for Roadside Romeo? A big accomplishment for India cinema to tie up with Walt Disney. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 18:36, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Shahid, I wanted to ask you something. If I decide to add an image of Kapoor from Jab We Met, do you think it would be better to add an image of her while she's the talkative one or the quiet one. The reason I am asking you this because in Kapoor's page, it says, "Kapoor played the female protagonist Geet Dhillon, an annoying talkative Sikhni girl from Bhatinda who lives life to the fullest." If I add an image of her when she's quiet will it contradict this part :an annoying talkative girl? Or should I just add an image of her when she's talkative. Please let me know what you think! Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 08:07, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Shahid isn't avergae considered moderately successful since it has the word "average" in it? LOL. Another thing is that since it is "above average" doesn't that mean that it's more of like a semi-hit. This is confusing..... --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 13:35, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the concerns. I knew this was going to happen! LOL! Are you suggesting that we rm the Don sentence? I just don't understand that part. I think you're indicating me to find other review of her item number in Don right? So it looks like a majority opinion. I noticed that the awards box in Preity Zinta's see also section is removed. Why is it removed? In the commitments section, she just helped out with some humanitarian causes but I don't think she supported any. Now that I am done with university for this semester, I think I can work on it slowly slowly. I'll see what I can do. I would greatly appreciate it if you would help me with it. Thanks. P.S. I am going to watch Aaja Nachle today.. Can't wait.. Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 20:45, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I saw Aaja Nachle yesterday. Although it was good (6-7/10), it was way below expectations. Did you see it yet? Shahid, do you mean something like this. Talk: Kareena Kapoor. If you have the time, please look at it and offer your suggestions. I plan to do the same thing with some other films. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 20:16, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, your way sounds so much better. LOL. I seriously feel you can write really well. LOL. Anyways, I plan to do the same for Omkara, Dev & Jab We Met. Do you think any other films need require this? I think that Fida (her first negative role) might need it as well. The breakthrough section already has criticisms so I don't feel that I need to do that section. Blofeld and you both suggested to pay close attention to the turning point section and that's what I plan to do. Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 20:41, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
LMAO, you never know which person will come and question these things. Just to be on the safe side. LOL. There are some people who question everything you do. If you've time, try to catch Aaja Nachle- a bit disappointing but nonetheless went to see it for Madhuri. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 20:57, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yash Raj Films are making very bad movies these days with the exception of Chak De India. All their films this here have sucked like SHIT!! LOL. I was really really disappointed. I also agree with you. YRF are very bias. They only sign top actors after they've given good performances or are currently at the top due to their commercial successes. And Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan can be used as an example of this. Just when they deliver commerical successes, they sign them. Ever since, I've seen Rani and Preity, the latter has shown more potential in her acting. Rani has been having a very bad year after 2005. Wonder what else is in store for her. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 21:10, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Those are all the reviews I can find for Don. Can't we just write what you wrote, "Kapoor was generally well received, but comparisons with the original version tended to criticise/to claim that the original version was better/that she did not do as well as did Helen" - This is very efficient. And the reviews clearly indicate it as well. You can see the negative ones are the ones when they compare it to Helen's one. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 21:13, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Is this okay for the info on Don. In the same year, she appeared in an item number in Farhan Akhtar's Don - The Chase Begins Again, a remake of the 1978 film Don. Kapoor's performance was generally well received, but comparisons with the original version tended critics to claim that the original version was better. I didn't add it yet. If you could make it sound better, let me know. Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 21:27, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The way you wrote it is fine. I just did a minor rephrase. Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 01:36, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am doing so much better now that the first semester of university is done. Nonetheless, I am using this time basically to relax. LOL. I lived in Mumbai for 8 yrs too before I moved here to Canada. I've heard that you live in Melbourne, Australia? LOL. Sure no problem, I see what you're getting at. What about the Pepsi spokespersons; that was never there. LOL. Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 17:22, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Films[edit]

Hey, I needed to ask you something. I see that you're a big fan of Rekha. LOL, I was never into seeing oldern movies. However, I remember seeing a movie which Rekha was in and I liked it a lot. It was something about that she is not that pretty and she dies one day because someone pushes her. Then she turns beautiful and comes back to take revenge on the guy. Do you know what the title of that movie is. I haven't seen it since I was about 9 or 10. It was playing on TV and then I saw it. Do you know what the film is called? Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 17:26, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for telling me the title of the movie. I need to rent it. Now that I have so much time, I will be passing my time by watching many Bollywood movies. LOL. Yeah my surname is Zinta. My grandfather is a Rajput; he was born in the same place as Preity (Shimla, Himachal Pradesh) & used to serve in the army. However, after he retired, he moved with his family to Mumbai, Maharashtra, which was where I was born. I am also half Punjabi.. lol.. While my dad comes from the Rajput side my mom is Punjabi. So you see, I am a mix of both. Ha Ha.
Do you know anyone who is not an Indian but watches Indian movies? I have friends that are chinese & white who watch Bollywood movies. This shows how Bollywood is becoming so popular these days. LOL. Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 20:02, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I just noticed a similarity between Zinta and Kapoor. Their career is sort of the same in terms of their films. For example both started their career by doing something different. Dil Se for the former and Refugee for the latter. Then both were later noted for their performancs in Kya Kehna and Asoka. (Both recieved nominations for filmfare best actress). Both shot to super-stardom with Karan Johar's films (Kal Ho Naa Ho & K3G). Zinta then went on deliver many commercial success and now she is showing her versatility by acting w/ independent directors. (I think this decision will help her a lot) Kapoor on the other hand worked with independend directors and will hopefully continue success with her other films after JWM. LOL. Don't you think so? --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 20:25, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I heard that she was cast in Deepa Mehta's film Heaven On Earth. Mehta's films are very very good indeed. Let's wait and watch!! --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 20:49, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
WOW, Shahid. I am very impressed! Not only the fact that you can write so well but your ability to analyze something so well is worth of praises. LOL. I totally agree with you. Commercial success is indeed a very important thing in an actor's career that's why I really hope that Kareena goes on to deliver commercial success with her forthcoming films (Tashan, Roadside Romeo, Golmaal Returns & Kambakth Ishq - They all are commercial films so let's hope they do well; LOL). Whatever you indicated was absolutely true. I seriously feel that Shilpa's performance in Phir Milenge and Urmila Matondkar's performance in Bhoot should've won them the Best Actress award at the Filmfare. Although Preity was good in KHNH, one of her best so far, her performance wasn't as good as Urmila's, in terms of the acting and that's why the latter should've deserved it. Urmila is a very good actress; she can act really well but as you said her, along with Tabu have always been underrated. As for Rani in Hum Tum, I don't think she deserved it; they should've given it to Shetty for Phir Milenge. Actresses who deliver commercial success first have a greater chance of winning a Best Actress award for their work in non-commercial films and that is completely agreeable. That's why Kajol won for Fanaa over Kareena for Omkara. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 16:57, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Shahid, do you believe in numerology (the number game that some of these Bollywood personalities use to achieve success in their career). Check out what Niraj Mancchanda said about Shahrukh Khan on IndiaFM "After July he will face lot of criticism about his work in movies therefore he will avoid meeting people and emotionally remain depressed. His movies may not fare extremely well too." - So untrue; Khan delivered two back-to-back blockbusters (OSO & Chak De India). Check out the one on Rediff by the same guy. In that one everything is true except the one on Chak De India. Do you believe in this? --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 17:08, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's what I was wondering. Aishwarya for her role in Dhoom 2 (where she had nothing to do except exposing her toned physique) was nominated at every award ceremony. I didn't get to see Corporate yet. I definitely plan to check it out. Shahid, the Preity-Akshay movie, Sangharsh - is that good? I haven't seen it yet, but judging by what it is written in Zinta's page, the film looks interesting. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 17:56, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, you gave me the ending. Just kidding, I'll definitely catch it. I miss seeing Preity on the big screen. Apart from Sangharsh, I haven't seen Dil Se, Soldier, Farz, Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy & Khullam Khulla Pyaar Karen. Those are the only ones. I have seen all her other films. Yeah, I did see Kajol in Dushman. There are no words that can describe her performance in the film; it is simply oustanding. Mahesh Bhatt's films are good too but I didn't like Murder. Apart from the skin show, LOL, there was nothing else in the film that appealed to me. I thought Woh Lamhe was really good. Kangana Ranaut is a star to watch out for. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 18:15, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think Kareena doesn't like John because he is dating Bipasha and you know that during Ajnabee, she and Biapsha had a catfight because she called her a kaali bili. LOL. BTW have you seen all of Kareena's films? One more thing I wanted to ask you was if you had seen any Bollywood celebrity in real life? --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 18:29, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
LOL, yeah I've.. When the actors of The Last Lear came to the Toronto International Film Festival, I saw them. Preity Zinta is absolutely gorgeous. She looks prettier in person. She looked mindblowing. I also saw her and Saif Ali Khan when they were shooting for Kal Ho Naa Ho. Other than that, I don't remember seeing any other celebrity. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 18:41, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I miss India too!! Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani.. LOL..... Sare Jahan Se Achcha, Hindustan Hamara Hamara. LOL --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 18:57, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey sorry for the late response. I was on IMDb; I was checking the user comments for certain films. Okay, here goes the list of Kareena's films that I love and hate. LOL.

  • Love: Refugee, K3G, Chameli, Dev, Omkara, Jab We Met (Her performances in these are truly memorable and I love these films)
  • Hate: Yaadein, Jeena Sirf Merre Liye, Talaash: The Hunt Begins..., Khushi, LOC Kargil, Kyon Ki..., Dosti: Friends Forever, Don - The Chase Begins Again
  • The other films she did were good to okay.

What about you? --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 19:22, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Preity Zinta has had many memorable films. I really liked Kya Kehna, Mission Kashmir, CCCC, DCH, DHT, Armaan, KHNH, KMG, Lakshya, VZ, SN & Jaan-E-Mann. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 19:41, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:[edit]

This is a really good research by you and would answer anyone like me (in future) who could ask questions on similar lines. People might still question about Taran Adarsh, so you might want to improve his article to address them. Two things that can be added to the article are, Zinta's rumoured marriage with Aamir Khan and her rumoured relationship with Sanjay Dutt which caused controversies and these were published by reliable sources. Thanks for your support on Mysore. I am done with PZ. -- ¿Amar៛Talk to me/My edits 06:12, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do so. I seem to have covered AutoPR comments on Mysore. But it would be good to show that these have been taken care of. Thanks -- ¿Amar៛Talk to me/My edits 10:25, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews[edit]

Hey Shahid, how can you find reviews for films so easily? It is so hard to find reviews from RS-sources. It took me forever to find the reviews fo Don - The Chase Begins Again. Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 02:26, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Shahid, are we allowed to use film reviews from "Bollyvista"? According to Talk:Preity Zinta we are allowed to use film reviews from that site. I just wanted to ask you to confirm it. Could you please let me know? Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 21:00, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay thanks for letting me know. BTW, could you help me keep an eye on User:60.243.98.209 as this person keeps vandalising Amrita Rao's page. I also see that you've been reverting the vandalism done by him as well. User:Rahul starryeyes is definitely a sockpuppet. The user created an account with my first name and even vandalised my user page. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 21:14, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Thanks for the help on the award pages. I'll try replacing the refs you mentioned. BTW I see that the user is still continuing to vandalise Amrita Rao's page and is not even listening to us. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 17:54, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Shahid, I was thinking for the awards article we can do something like this.[4] Take a look, I just did it for the Filmfare Awards section of Kareena Kapoor's awards. What do you think? It looks like a lot of work but we can work on them slowly. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 18:25, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay thanks for the suggestions. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 18:50, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that was what I was thinking about. LOL. After I finish with this, I will work on Preity's and other Bollywood actors. If you don't like the format of the table then you could change it. Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 18:54, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It looks good!! So you're saying put all the win together and all the nominations together right? Either way (yours or mine) is fine. I'll leave Kareena's one the way it is right now. If I decide to do it your way, I might change it later. Either way both of our ways look good. Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 19:46, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am fully confident that she will play the role to perfection. She is a very talented actress. People say her role is similar to Aishwarya's role in Provoked. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 20:00, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Is it a Bollywood movie or a Hollywood movie? --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 20:10, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Shahid, I am not doing bad. I used Dec 15 as my movie night. LOL. I basically used that day to watch old and new movies. I finally saw Khoon Bhari Maang; it was so good! It brought back memories of my childhood. I also watched films that I had grown up watching such as Raja Hindustani, DDLJ and many more. I also saw Guru. Bachchan's performance was fantastic. WOW, I was wondering if he was still the same Abhishek. LOL. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 16:48, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The movie was so good that it is hard to pick out my favorite scene. I liked the part where she throws her ex-husband into the water with all the crocodiles. LOL. He deserved it! I also loved Rekha's acting and it inspired me to watch more of her movies. Do you have any recommendations? Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 21:09, 17 December 2007

Nope I haven't seen it. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 21:20, 17 December 2007

Shahid, you can be my movie/film consultant. LOL! whatever films you recommend have been fabulous. I will definitely catch Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi. Whenever, I have any questions about a movie, you will be the first person I ask. Ha Ha. Anyways, I did see Khamoshi the Musical and that's when I fell in love with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movies. LOL. I also loved his HDDCS, Devdas & to some extent, Saawariya. LOL. Manisha Koirala, and especially Nana Patekar & Seema Biswas were fantastic. As for Yeh Dillagi, I've seen it but I forgot what it was about. I saw many movies while I was still in India. However, I have forgotten most of them. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 02:12, 18 December 2007
Shahid, some users had changed Rani Mukerji's last name on her page. However, I put it back as "Mukerji" and indicated other names she is known by in the infobox, such as Rani Mukherji/Mukerjee/Mukherjee. Is that okay? Also another thing is that I indicated that her birth name was Rani Mukherjee because that is how her parents' last names are spelled and according to ref. 41, Mukerji changed the English transliteration of her surname from Mukherjee to Mukerji several years ago. At the time, it was reported that she did this for numerological reasons. In 2006, Mukerji stated that numerology was not a concern; her name had been put down as Mukerji on her passport, and she wanted to be consistent. What do you suggest? Should we include Mukherjee as her birth name? P.S. Did you see the Rediff Rankings; you won't believe who they put as number 1!! Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 16:59, 18 December 2007
Rediff and Filmfare rankings are only based on commercial success and popularity (in terms of how often they were in the media), which is why the list looks the way it is. I was shocked when I didn't see Preity and Madhuri on the list. Althought JBJ and Aaja Nachle failed to do well, I thought that they would at least be included in the Top 10 Actresses of 2007. Even Tabu, she delivered such a good performance in The Namesake but she is placed under people like Aishwarya, Deepika & Katrina Kaif. Shilpa is only ranked first because of Big Brother hype, which also caused her films to do well. Oh well, just like last year, I think that there will be a reader's ranking. They also have a link there for readers to write/mail them their list of Top 10 Actresses of 2007. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 00:49, 19 December 2007
Just curious to know that if it were up to you and without any bias. Which actresses would you include in the Top 10 Actresses of 2007 list and what would you rank them?" --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 01:02, 19 December 2007
My list would somewhat be similar to yours but I wouldn't include Sareeka in it because I haven't seen her films so I am unable to comment. However, I would definitely add my personal favourite: Dhak-dhak girl, Madhuri Dixit into Top 10. LOL. She is just not in the list because her film failed to do well. I would take out Sareeka and add Madhuri after Vidya Balan. Everything else would basically stay around the same. I am excited to see the list for the actors. It will be a close call between Akshay Kumar and Shahrukh Khan. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 15:22, 19 December 2007
What is wrong with User:Gunwanti? He is vandalising the page as he is adding so much fangush to the article. I don't care what he says. Let him say what he has to. I really doubt that it is the actress' official website. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 20:10, 19 December 2007
LOL, same with me. I am sure as well. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 20:15, 19 December 2007

Gandhi[edit]

Gandhi? Why yes of course I knew - it won tens of other awards too. That film is one of the great epic films of all time. A masterpiece. Ben Kingsley was terrific in it . Interestingly I started the Dolly Thakore article not too long ago - she did the casting for the film. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 14:57, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rohini Hattangadi's performance was brilliant. I'm not too aware of her other work but if Gandhi is anything to go by then absolutely. Its also a coincidence you mentioned Gandhi as I am thinking about drawing up a list of the most successful or greatest films of all time and aiming at developing them all to at least a GA. This list of course includes films like Lawrence of Arabia, The Good the Bad and the Ugly and Citizen Kane etc etc. Shockingly the Gandhi article is only a start class -films like this and Sholay should be at least a GA. Contrary to what happened with Zinta, GA's are usually quite straightforward to obtain - we now have 22 GA'S for James Bond alone!! (and two FA'S!!) I think I'll draw up a list of films which I consider core articles and try to aim at producing some GA'S for films like this in the coming year. As usual though so much needs doing in setting out the scope of the project that I don't usuaully have much time to begin writing full articles!! As for my "braglist" I would soon lose track of upkeeping it but yes you;d find quite a diversity of articles in there!! Anyway my editing history shows this!! Felicidad Navidad amigo!!!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 15:46, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tabu certainly also appears to be a highly gifted actress - as for winning an Oscar I'm not sure as competition is always just the hardest isn't it!! I can imagine how winning a National Film award would be complicated as there are so many film industries in India and they have so many films and performances to review!!! I feel certain American Gangster -this is an instant timeless classic almost like The Godfather etc will pick up some Oscars at the 80th Acad. for sure. Denzil Washington is a great actor (so is Russell Crowe although i can't stand the arrogance of the guy). I seem to recall Denzil appeared in a US-Indian related film back in 1991 Mississippi Masala! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 16:10, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wow!!. Amazing the connection though isn't it - I wonder what got me to mention American Gangster and Denzil and then Masala?? . My mind works in powerful ways -the evil genius that I am!!! - clearly all linked to film greatness though. How scary a link is that? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 16:24, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've only seen the trailer but it looks a smashing film. Racial interrelations is always a difficult topic isn't it. I do find it a little strange that kissing and holdings hands is frowned upon yet there are even sex scenes in some of the films!! I don't see what the problem is with diferent race relationships -I guess it is a clash of cultures. Its funny but my sister who looks a little like Sarah Michelle Gellar who is currently living in California near Silicon Valley, is currently dating a Jamaican guy with dreadlocks like Bob Marley!! I think its really cool ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 17:01, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OMG. The coincidences today are just eerie. I;ve just been doing a lot of work on some of the middle eastern cinema templates and articles and without realising I gradually drifted into Palestinian related topics and clicked without even thinking Yasser Arafat. I then look at the front page and see what is there as todays feature!!! I'm telling you it was as if some magnet attracted me without even realising!!! Not only this but I created a Palestinian cinema template and as I was going to add it to the foot of the articles I saw that User:Huldra had tried to add the existing film list template to the articles just hours! earlier and the articles had previously remained untouched for months!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 21:11, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That looks really great!! I much prefer awards in a table format in articles anyway as they are easier to read. I began doing one for El Faro and aimed to try to make it a guideline to have it but oobviously I have a lot going on. I would like to see the example copied in the El Faro article and used in the award sections of film articles by everynone on wikipedia. If people could copy the first table system on zinta's things would pick up. It would look great if all the award pages where like that. Keep it up! I'm having PC trouble today it is as slow as a snail -its usually very quick. It takes a minute to load even a small page. I had connection problems this morning also ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 21:43, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I remember I recently split the awards from The Aviator article as it was too huge but the list of awards looks really messy!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 21:47, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The information on latin cinema articles is so lacking. Ingrid Rubio is one of the biggest actresses in Latin cinema and has featured in many acclaimed spanish, mexican and argentine films yet the article is extremely lacking. I'll have to get around to translating some time but it will take forever and a day!! I'm certain you would enjoy some spanish films like Hermanas ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 21:53, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is surprising but there is actually only myself User:LuigiBob and User:Rohmerin and one of two others from time to time who actively work on spanish language films on english wikipedia. Most of the fan base of course use spanish wikipedia. Of course actresses who also work in the english speaking world have full articles such as Antonio Banderas and Penelope Cruz (even these are short) but some of the big stars in the latin world are still stubs ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 22:00, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I preferred the table originally -it looked clearer with the winner and then nomination horizontal I think. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 22:16, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I'm nearly finished for today too. Hasta luego amigo ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 22:25, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hiya![edit]

Hello, how are you? I had some time free, so thought I'd catch up with everything. You've been busy I see. Hope the Zinta article plus everything else is going OK. I found the links for the Peschardt's People interview. I was hoping there would be something from bbcworld.com but there isn't much. I guess that would've been RS approved. I've found another one which you might wanna have a read of [5]. There were a few more links but I feel this one goes into depth of what she (Zinta) was saying. Have a look. Hope your doing well :-) -- Pa7 16:48, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, that's the one. I love the fact that she was talking about HIV in India, plus everything else. Do you think it will be good in the article? -- Pa7 13:19, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
