Hi, when adding the salaries of the premiers can you also add a reference like I did with the NWT. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 22:28, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, Simplexity22. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Pending revisions

I noticed you accepted this revision on Non-Hispanic whites, which is a deliberate factual error. You must be more careful when accepting pending revisions. MB298 (talk) 21:32, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

I noticed you accepted this revision on January 20, which deleted factual information. As this is not the first time that you have accepted inappropriate edits, I am alerting you that this kind of irresponsible editing on your part must stop. Quis separabit? 21:35, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

...and this and this on Tommy Wiseau, which insert uncited content onto a WP:BLP article. DMacks (talk) 21:47, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

Sorry about all this, regarding Non-Hispanic whites, I didn't think I was required to check correctness based off WP:Reviewing pending changes#Overview (second paragraph), I will be more careful going forward. Simplexity22 (talk) 21:53, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
Thanks! DMacks (talk) 22:01, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi Simplexity22. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! MusikAnimal talk 03:36, 3 February 2017 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 5

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 26th Canadian Ministry, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Reynolds. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:28, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

Online casino

Hey, Simplexity22, in my opinion, you made mistake or I don't understand the whole idea of an encyclopedia. Linked site has 16 million of words about casinos online, what is relevant to the page of online casinos and offers. Can you add referring link back to the page?

Hi, @Andrzej Dominik Krajewski: The Online casino page is not a list of "online casinos and offers", and the fact that you added the link in a ref next to the word "offer" doesn't change that. References are meant to factually support the text that is written, not to link to an external site in a way that doesn't do this.
I'm not going to re-add the link, but there's nothing stopping you from re-adding it yourself to seek a second opinion. Simplexity22 (talk) 20:34, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

71.92.62.37

putting this msg here since I can't seem to talk to you normally like with the last guy. as I told him my IP is a dynamic, you have no cookies or data put on my computer, and even if you do block me it is meaningless and will only give you a few more seconds of time before another edit happens. I will also inform you it is best to leave it up for a day and then take it down. if you lock down the page I will simply find another page to put that into over and over again for the rest of the day. I love my off days, its quite fun ^~^ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.92.62.37 (talk) 23:54, 29 April 2017 (UTC)

Please stop removing good faith content prior to the addition of the citation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.54.0.181 (talk) 04:30, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

The burden is on you to provide a reference, not other users to wait. Quotes should be referenced at the same time they are added, and adding unreferenced quotes from living people is a violation of WP:BLP. Simplexity22 (talk) 04:35, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Bell1985

Hey man,

What's all this stuff you threw up on my page? Bell1985 (talk) 15:53, 15 May 2017 (UTC)

@Bell1985: Maybe nothing, just ruling out a connection between you and these accounts. Your first edit happened almost exactly the same time LineCoding was blocked, and was the same edit he/she was making. See this also. Simplexity22 (talk) 20:23, 15 May 2017 (UTC)

Your IP is probably shared, and someone else likely made the edit. The message was regarding this edit, which did come from your IP. Simplexity22 (talk) 02:10, 19 May 2017 (UTC)

Senate Conservative Caucus

I am not denying his right to delete the PROD based on the rules of Wikipedia, I'm objecting to it because there is an active discussion going on at Wikipedia_talk:Canadian_Wikipedians'_notice_board#Senate_Conservative_Caucus where one other prominent user has already agreed the PROD should be there. Charles lindberg (talk) 02:34, 19 May 2017 (UTC)

That's not how PRODs work. If any editor objects, then you have to proceed by an AFD. It doesn't matter if there is an "active discussion" or if one other editor ("prominent" or not) supports the PROD. The AFD is the place for an active discussion, not a PROD. PROD's only proceed when no discussion is needed becuase there are no objections. Hungarian Phrasebook (talk) 02:37, 19 May 2017 (UTC)
@Charles lindberg: Also, please read the policy I linked in my edit summary (WP:CONTESTED), PROD is a "one shot" process, if any editor removes the tag for any reason you cannot re-add it. Simplexity22 (talk) 02:40, 19 May 2017 (UTC)

Uncategorized tag

As an FYI, it is generally better to quickly look for a category with WP:HOTCAT rather than slap on the uncategorized tag. Its in my opinion one of the most jarring tags (especially for stubs) and can easily be avoided for most articles. TonyBallioni (talk) 00:59, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

I'll keep that in mind, thanks. Simplexity22 (talk) 01:26, 29 May 2017 (UTC)
...and I've added categories to the articles I've tagged so far. Simplexity22 (talk) 02:19, 29 May 2017 (UTC)
Oh, nevermind, I misread that response as you saying I didn't see something, so blanking the old response and putting this! Thank you for going back and categorizing! I was more letting you know for future reference, but it is certainly appreciated. Good work. TonyBallioni (talk) 02:53, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for working speedy deletions and new page patrol. I know it can be a thankless job.

For the above article, I've userfied it based on the creator's username, as it appeared to be an article about that user. You can do this too if you come across similar articles in the future. Stifle (talk) 08:20, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

Antifa is a disambiguation page, which is meant to link to other existing articles with similar titles. Simplexity22 (talk) 02:02, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
Regardless, I'm not interested in getting into a debate with you, I don't care enough about the topic. Simplexity22 (talk) 02:07, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
that doesn't really answer my question. can i take it that you wouldn't object to,
Antifa Front group and heroin cartel[1][2] extension of the Obama administration backed Afghan pederast opium cartel who 'chemical addiction trap' and keep Bacha Bazis.[3][4][5] They're heroin abusers who were told they were supporting terrorists so they went and out-rightly joined them.[6] 107.77.209.142 (talk) 02:42, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
It doesn't answer your question because your question doesn't make sense, I don't have to accept an edit you make to Antifa, I was simply reverting your unsourced contrib. Please take these sources somewhere else, I don't care about the topic and I'm not going to get into a debate with you (and to be clear, I haven't looked at any of the sources you provided). Simplexity22 (talk) 02:50, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
And no, I won't revert again if you provide sources in your edit. Simplexity22 (talk) 02:56, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

Delhi Meerut RRTS - RevDel - redaction

Hi, I humbly appreciate your concern regarding copyright violations in some content on the page. U too undid the same and removed the challenged content. But putting the entire history of article under WP:Redaction is grossly inappropriate since those revisions contain a significant amount of original content too (far more than the one challenged for copyright violations). Even the guideline for Redaction prohibits it's use in such a situation. I have already done corrections in light of the violations. Undoing a revision seems like a more proper way of resolving such a thing than grossly redacting it. I request you to kindly remove the Redaction template thereof.

Survey Invite

I'm working on a study of political motivations and how they effect editing. I'd like to ask you to take a survey. The survey should take 5 minutes. Your survey responses will be kept private. Our project is documented at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Wikipedia_%2B_Politics.

Survey Link: http://uchicago.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_80J3UDCpLnKyWTH?Q_DL=6ybvGHdBVVUDi1D_80J3UDCpLnKyWTH_MLRP_czGbBRktWIEZfOB&Q_CHL=gl

I am asking you to participate in this study because you are a frequent editor of pages on Wikipedia that are of political interest. We would like to learn about your experiences in dealing with editors of different political orientations.

Sincere thanks for your help! Porteclefs (talk) 20:45, 5 July 2017 (UTC)

for my edit on minimum wage laws

I don't see any other entries on that page speculating minimum wages outside of the US. They just state what they are what they will be by laws passed. I really don't think that extra information should be on that page. I take it you disagree? I won't edit again until we reach agreement. Subzeroicedude (talk) 09:50, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

@Subzeroicedude: I don't agree or disagree, I only reverted your edit because you removed a portion of sourced text without giving reason. Simplexity22 (talk) 14:12, 12 July 2017 (UTC)
...and to be clear, I won't revert again if you give a reason in your edit summary (as you did with your second edit). Simplexity22 (talk) 14:27, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Simplexity22, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 18,511 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a a day.
  • Some editors are committing to work specifically on patrolling new pages on 15 July. If you have not reviewed new pages in a while, this might be a good time to be involved. Please remember that quality of patrolling is more important than quantity, that the speedy deletion criteria should be followed strictly, and that ovetagging for minor issues should be avoided.

Technology update:

  • Several requests have been put into Phabractor to increase usability of the New Pages Feed and the Page Curation toolbar. For more details or to suggest improvements go to Wikipedia:Page Curation/Suggested improvements
  • The tutorial has been updated to include links to the following useful userscripts. If you were not aware of them, they could be useful in your efforts reviewing new pages:

@Dr.khatmando: Not a problem, and thanks for all your hard work! Simplexity22 (talk) 08:05, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
Good oh! I had a look at their his talk page and he seemed to have been blocked in the past 48 hours but this was recently lifted. Can we put some more permanent shackles on his account? Thanks again.
@Dr.khatmando: It's an IP, which generally aren't blocked for too long. The block is still ongoing, see Special:Contributions/112.198.101.33 (the box at the top).
This particular user is a long term vandal who hops between several IPs and accounts, see Wikipedia:Long-term abuse/My Royal Young, so if you ever see a user replacing content with "Spearton" or "BLOBBLIBBBLOBBLIB" in the future, feel free to report to WP:ANV. Speedy deletion of Larissa Onyshkevych changed to draftification.

I removed your speedy deletion tag from Larissa Onyshkevych, and moved it to the draft space instead. There seems to be lots of reliable sources about this person, and while the current article is undersourced, it is best served by being kept as a draft that the user can expand, rather than deleted prematurely. Before nominating articles for deletion, have a quick search for sources on the subject, and if some exist, but the article is very undersourced, consider using draftification instead of nominating articles for deletion. Thanks. — InsertCleverPhraseHere 03:14, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

Noted, will keep that in mind. Thanks. Simplexity22 (talk) 03:16, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

And they abused you, I hope you are fine and didn't got affected by that trolls abuses. I reported that incident at Admin incident noticeboard and fortunately an admin noticed it and blocked that abusers. Please don't remain silent and tolerate abuses or think about quitting Wikipedia because of this trolls. You should immediately report at Admin noticeboards. Diary Product Edit

Hey, man. You left a message in User talk:24.50.205.133 and it seems to me that, although the person who made the non-constructive edits to the Diary Product page was using the IP address 24.50.205.133 at that time. Since the service I'm provided is one with dynamic IP, I'm certain that person's too, because I now have that IP address and it was not me. Mitologus (talk) 18:10, 6 August 2017 (UTC)

I am curious how I violated anything, I simply shared information on a page that is supposedly dedicated to alternate 9/11 theories. If you do not care to share information then you are part of the coverup — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jsrod83 (talkcontribs) 21:27, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

@Jsrod83: Please read WP:EL and WP:LINKSPAM, you're free to use external links in the body of an article as a reference to factual content, not to draw an audience to a website. Simplexity22 (talk) 21:33, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

So I am clear, I can mention my finding just not provide a link to the website? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jsrod83 (talkcontribs) 21:47, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

@Jsrod83: In general, yes. If you'd like to add content to the article using a website as a reference, you can. That's not to say other editors won't oppose your addition, however, and you should make sure it complies with WP:NPOV. You also shouldn't add content for the sole purpose of promoting an individual. Simplexity22 (talk) 21:54, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
I've removed it twice. An unsourced comment that "Dr. Judy Wood has been influential in providing alternate theories such as the use of direct energy weapons." isn't any better. Without reliable sources showing that direct energy weapons are seriously being considered and that Judy Wood is influential in this this is not going in the article. Meters (talk) 22:07, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
Never mind. Blocked while I was writing the above. Meters (talk) 22:08, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi Simplexity22, just so you know, I looked into sourcing for this article and found that the spelling "Madhan" was much more common, so I reverted your move. There seems to be some kind of promotional effort going on for another person by this name, and sadly, such things sometimes include attempts to remove articles about other uses of a name - it looks like that was what happened here. In any case, I just wanted to let you know, and hope you won't mind. --bonadea contributions talk 16:07, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Simplexity22, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 16,991 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a a day.

Technology update:

  • Rentier has created a NPP browser in WMF Labs that allows you to search new unreviewed pages using keywords and categories.

General project update:

  • The Wikimedia Foundation Community Tech team is working with the community to implement the autoconfirmed article creation trial. The trial is currently set to start on 7 September 2017, pending final approval of the technical features.
  • Please remember to focus on the quality of review: correct tagging of articles and not tagbombing are important. Searching for potential copyright violations is also important, and it can be aided by Earwig's Copyvio Detector, which can be added to your toolbar for ease of use with this user script.
  • To keep up with the latest conversation on New Pages Patrol or to ask questions, you can go to Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers and add it to your watchlist.

Page mover granted

Hello, Simplexity22. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, and move subpages when moving the parent page(s).

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

Useful links:

If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! Alex ShihTalk 07:53, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

Hello Simplexity22, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 14304 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a day.
  • Currently there are 532 pages in the backlog that were created by non-autoconfirmed users before WP:ACTRIAL. The NPP project is undertaking a drive to clear these pages from the backlog before they hit the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing a few today!

Technology update:

  • The Wikimedia Foundation is currently working on creating a new filter for page curation that will allow new page patrollers to filter by extended confirmed status. For more information see: T175225

General project update:

  • On 14 September 2017 the English Wikipedia began the autoconfirmed article creation trial. For a six month period, creation of articles in the mainspace of the English Wikipedia will be restricted to users with autoconfirmed status. New users who attempt article creation will now be redirected to a newly designed landing page.
  • Before clicking on a reference or external link while reviewing a page, please be careful that the site looks trustworthy. If you have a question about the safety of clicking on a link, it is better not to click on it.

17:14, 9 October 2017 (UTC)~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Frenchtraveler (talkcontribs)

@Frenchtraveler: Please read Wikipedia:External links and Wikipedia:Your first article. With all due respect, creating a page with a list of keywords, followed by a link doesn't look like you're trying to create an article, but rather are trying to promote a website. If you really do want to create an article, you shouldn't override an existing redirect, maybe create Experimental Group (company), or if you're unable to do so, submit an article for review via WP:AFC. Simplexity22 (talk) 17:19, 9 October 2017 (UTC)

Ok, great, will do. I'm trying to put down the skeleton of the article and then fill it up as I write it but using sandbox will allow me to push online a full story. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Frenchtraveler (talkcontribs) 17:58, 9 October 2017 (UTC)

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Simplexity22. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Simplexity22, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 12713 pages. Please consider reviewing even just a few pages each day! If everyone helps out, it will really put a dent in the backlog.
  • Currently the backlog stretches back to March and some pages in the backlog have passed the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing some of them!

Outreach and Invitations:

  • If you know other editors with a good understanding of Wikipedia policy, invite them to join NPP by dropping the invitation template on their talk page with: {{subst:NPR invite}}. Adding more qualified reviewers will help with keeping the backlog manageable.

New Year New Page Review Drive

  • A backlog drive is planned for the start of the year, beginning on January 1st and running until the end of the month. Unique prizes will be given in tiers for both the total number of reviews made, as well as the longest 'streak' maintained.
  • Note: quality reviewing is extremely important, please do not sacrifice quality for quantity.

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL has resulted in a significant increase in the quality of new submissions, with noticeably fewer CSD, PROD, and BLPPROD candidates in the new page feed. However, the majority of the backlog still dates back to before ACTRIAL started, so consider reviewing articles from the middle or back of the backlog.
  • The NPP Browser can help you quickly find articles with topics that you prefer to review from within the backlog.
  • To keep up with the latest conversation on New Pages Patrol or to ask questions, you can go to Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers and add it to your watchlist.

New Years new page backlog drive

Hello Simplexity22, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Announcing the NPP New Year Backlog Drive!

We have done amazing work so far in December to reduce the New Pages Feed backlog by over 3000 articles! Now is the time to capitalise on our momentum and help eliminate the backlog!

The backlog drive will begin on January 1st and run until January 29th. Prize tiers and other info can be found HERE.

Awards will be given in tiers in two categories:

  • The total number of reviews completed for the month.
  • The minimum weekly total maintained for all four weeks of the backlog drive.

NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.

The NPP backlog at the end of the drive with the number of unreviewed articles by creation date. Red is older than 90 days, orange is between 90 and 30 days old, and green is younger than 30 days.

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 3819 unreviewed articles, with a further 6660 unreviewed redirects.
  • We are very close to eliminating the backlog completely; please help by reviewing a few extra articles each day!

New Year Backlog Drive results:

  • We made massive progress during the recent four weeks of the NPP Backlog Drive, during which the backlog reduced by nearly six thousand articles and the length of the backlog by almost 3 months!

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL will end it's initial phase on the 14th of March. Our goal is to reduce the backlog significantly below the 90 day index point by the 14th of March. Please consider helping with this goal by reviewing a few additional pages a day.
  • Reviewing redirects is an important and necessary part of New Page Patrol. Please read the guideline on appropriate redirects for advice on reviewing redirects. Inappropriate redirects can be re-targeted or nominated for deletion at RfD.

New Page Review Newsletter No.10

Hello Simplexity22, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

ACTRIAL:

  • ACTRIAL's six month experiment restricting new page creation to (auto)confirmed users ended on 14 March. As expected, a greatly increased number of unsuitable articles and candidates for deletion are showing up in the feed again, and the backlog has since increased already by ~30%. Please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day.

Paid editing

  • Now that ACTRIAL is inoperative pending discussion, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary.

Subject-specific notability guidelines

Nominate competent users for Autopatrolled

  • While patrolling articles, if you find an editor that is particularly competent at creating quality new articles, and that user has created more than 25 articles (rather than stubs), consider nominating them for the 'Autopatrolled' user right HERE.

News

  • The next issue Wikipedia's newspaper The Signpost has now been published after a long delay. There are some articles in it, including ACTRIAL wrap-up that will be of special interest to New Page Reviewers. Don't hesitate to contribute to the comments sections. The Signpost is one of the best ways to stay up date with news and new developments - please consider subscribing to it. All editors of Wikipedia and associated projects are welcome to submit articles on any topic for consideration by the The Signpost's editorial team for the next issue.
