Problems this article will have[edit]

Fictional timelines are usually not considered encyclopedic. Among the problems:

  • They are in-universe attempts to create a consistent reality that was usually never intended by the creators of the work.
  • Timelines by themselves are rarely notable, and freestanding articles don't inherit notability from their parent articles.
  • That a timeline needs to be pieced together by some Wikipedian is prima facie evidence of lack of notability. And it is by definition original research.

I'm not here to argue against this article, but I need to warn you it's uphill make this sort of thing acceptable for Wikipedia. I recommend reading Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction) if you haven't already.

If you just want to write a Futurama timeline anyway, there are a few Futurama wikis, including Futurama Wiki and The Infosphere. / edg 22:33, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure it's possible to avoid WP:POV and WP:OR to put this timeline on par with articles such as Timelines in fiction and Doctor Who chronology. I understand your scepticism, but it would be good to see some other people interested in making this a quality article. Sixequalszero (talk) 04:54, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. I'll be watching with interest! / edg 14:19, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
