However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Wikipedia:Teahouse, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. This was your own material, but since it had already been replied to it should have been collapsed (as I have done) rather than deleted. Do not delete or change talkpage threads that have already been replied to. Possibly the above user was confused about who left the comment because you did no indent properly , or sign.
