names of aircraft[edit]

Su-33 isn't an name for Su-27K, it's a synonim

Maybe I'm not great in english, but i see no diff between "another name" and "synonym", hence Su-33 is Su-27K (and vice versa).

The Su-27IB isn't a predecessor of the Su-34 Fullback, it's absolutely the same plane

nope. The aircraft known as Su-27IB have nose just like of Su-27 and tandem cockpit. At least it was such when I've seen it at MACS in mid 90s.

never even heared of. maybe you mean Su-32FN (1997, 1999, 2001)?

Considering the differences between the Mi-17 and its base model, the Mi-8, I still believe that they are large enough to warrant two articles.

The problem is that such a decision will actually mean to move to Mi-17 page all the Mi-8MT and later developments of basic Mi-8. Even those that pertain the Mi-8 name.

The "naming problem" arised mostly after the crash of the USSR. Along with the old soviet way of ordering, development, entering service, etc of new aircraft. The results one may see in, say, "Su-47". This aircraft didn't enter the service and, hence, cannot have such a name (under the old rules). But "marketing issues" multiplied by journalizm have lead to such confusions. --jno 10:28, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
