Put the source in the article, not your edit summary! See WP:CITE. Toddst1 (talk) 16:42, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

IMDB is not to be used as a source. See WP:IMDBREF. We need reliable sources. Toddst1 (talk) 17:05, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

July 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Betty Logan. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, List of natural horror films, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Betty Logan (talk) 15:47, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for July 1[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Diablo Cody, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Deadline. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:15, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Colspan[edit]

A few things. A credited role is not defined by how it is displayed on the screen, with the exception of the use of "and" versus "&" (as one determines writing team and the other means a second person took a crack at the script). Writers and directors and distinct credits, regardless of how they are displayed. The same goes for producing. That's why we have separate writers guilds, directors guilds, and producer guilds as unions for those distinct credits. The fact that someone might appear in the screen as "written, produced, and directed by X" doesn't make that 1 single role/credit. Second, Wikipedia articles have to be written and coded for the most accessibility across various platforms. Not everyone uses the same type of computer, browser, or even phone. HTML code doesn't translate the same across browsers, let alone between a PC or a mobile device. When you have something like a large table, they can be difficult to display already on mobile devices and some browsers. When you start adding column spans (they are more egregious than row spans for coding purposes) it can throw off how it is displayed. This can also interfere with sortable tables. Yes, you made the table sortable, but it can have a hard time differentiating how to sort when you have cells that span multiple columns. These are some of the reasons why we generally avoid column spanning. Not to mention the aesthetic of it.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 16:51, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:40, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted your addition of content to Lin Shaye along with the accompanying citation to IMDb. That source is not reliable for use in Wikipedia articles. Please see WP:IMDB. You might also want to look at WP:USERGENERATED, where IMDb and several other sources are named as being unreliable. Eddie Blick (talk) 01:40, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
