Hello Supermod. The article on LTTE already has a link (appearing as number 17) in the very same section to http://www.spur.asn.au/attro/Ch1/01Massac.htm, which is the page on the Spur website from which the individual photos of massacres appear. Could you please explain on Talk:Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam why you think this link is insufficient and why direct links to every individual page are also necessary? Thanks. -- Arvind 11:26, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you remove the Sinhala scripts from the Infobox of the article? And the reason you had given was abuse? Could you kindly tell me whats the abuse here? I think you need to install the Sinhala font for you to get it working...  «Mÿšíc»  (T) 14:17, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Having an image was a better option. You can have the script as well, but please do not delete the image. Supermod

The intro to the article about LTTE[edit]

There is a consensus about the intro, and that the specific list of countries banning LTTE should be listed further down. An intro is an intro and should not be too long. Either argue for a change or respect that consensus on the intro. Ulflarsen 05:35, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I might just add: A seesaw editing war between those who want to lengthen this sentence with details of what countries have imposed the ban, and those who want to remove the sentence about "terrorism" altogether, is in no way helpful. Better for both sides to leave the introduction as it is. Credmond 10:17, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Or, if you strongly feel that the intro should be rewritten, please argue for that on the page's discussion page, we need to get consensus on this. Ulflarsen 10:35, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

user Elalan[edit]

Elalan tries to promote his/her pwn agenda using the article LTTE. Most of the edits he has been doing represent the one-sided opinion of the LTTE (banned as a terrorist organization and more recetly http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/08/21/srilanka.terror/index.html?section=cnn_latest). Please see the edit history. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Supermod (talkcontribs) 21:56, 22 August 2006 (UTC).[reply]

I am at a loss as to what you want me to do about this. If you feel someone is vandalizing an article, please post it on WP:AIV. If it is a general issue regarding a problem with a user, please use WP:AN. While I am an admin, I do not generally take requests to deal with a certain problem personally, but instead read the noticeboards and pick issues to deal with specifically. Words to avoid - "terrorist"[edit]

Have a look at WP:WTA - terrorist, we shouldn't describe an organization as terrorist, but instead report which countries have designated them as such. Addhoc 12:57, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I did not use the word terrorist as it is and without giving any citation. I did not add the word "terrorist" that you removed in LTTE article. Supermod 17:42, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:LTTE ACTIVE AREAS 31AUG2007 MAP.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:LTTE ACTIVE AREAS 31AUG2007 MAP.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:10, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi there; just a friendly reminder that we really need your input on the proposal being discussed here. Without it, we can't craft a solution which is acceptable to everyone, and without indicating your willingness to go along with a solution, the whole process could fail. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 03:04, 21 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia Community User Group Sri Lanka[edit]

Dear Supermod,

Thank you for your contributions to the Wikimedia Projects. As an editor from Sri Lanka, you are warmly invited to join the official Wikimedia Community User Group Sri Lanka and to subscribe to its mailing list, Wikimedia-LK.

The user group currently includes volunteers from Wikipedia and other projects, from the English, Sinhala, and Tamil speaking communities. It is the Wikimedia-approved platform for editors from Sri Lanka to enable wider collaboration, for both online and offline projects.

With your support, we hope to organize cross-project content improvement drives as part of online projects, as well as organize in-person edit-a-thons, training sessions, photowalks, and other such activities, in the near future. The ultimate goal(s) of these initiatives is to improve the overall coverage and quality of topics relating to Sri Lanka, as well as encourage new editors to join the Wikimedia community, while simultaneously empowering and retaining our existing team of editors.

There are no mandatory obligations for members who choose join the community, other than the usual editing rules for online projects, and the friendly space policy for in-person projects. You may also (or instead) subscribe to the mailing list, where any member could initiate discussions with volunteers across projects, notify members of events and meetings, stay up to date with competitions, organize your own events, and so on.

See you on board, and Happy Editing!
