Regarding your edits of Monkey Majik[edit]

I would like to remind you that there is a "Show preview" button next to the "Save page" button, it makes it easier to survey what sort of changes you have made to an article if you keep the number of edits down. I would also like to remind you that any major changes to an article should not be marked as a minor edit. Thank you - chsf, 16:07 CET, 2007-02-26

Ramzi Abid[edit]

You are saying that Abid is not a Middle Eastern descent but an African descent. So that means, he's black? When I googled Ramzi Abid, he doesn't look black and he doesn't look white.

No, I am not implying that Ramzi Abid is black. I also believe that one could be of African descent and not be black. It's important to differentiate between nationality and ethnicity. For a site that is to showcase players of Middle Eastern descent, I think it's important to find articles sourcing the person's ethnic background rather than their national background. In other words, if Ramzi Abid is of full Tsunisian background/descent (not nationality), then it implies that he is not of Middle Eastern descent. If he is of mixed ethnic background, the fact that he is of Tsunisian descent is irrelevant to whether he is of Middle Eastern decent or not. I was unsuccessful in finding an article that referred to his ethnic background. Maybe you will fare better. Also, please sign your comment with four tildes. The article List of ice hockey players of Asian descent has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article has no set parameters on what "Asian" means, excludes white people born in Asia, as well as those from the Middle East. Article is a list of the authors own grouping of Asian nationalities, and based on these loose and un-encyclopedic parameters, the page really shouldn't exist.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Львівське (talk) 05:37, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of black ice hockey players. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of black ice hockey players. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:03, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. New 10,000 Challenge for Canada[edit]

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/The 10,000 Challenge is up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge for the UK which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. If you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Canada like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1600 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for Canada but fuelled by a contest such as The North America Destubathon to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. I would like some support from Canadian wikipedians here to get the Challenge off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile! Cheers. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
