Sockpuppet investigation[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Aurora Prince, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Help From Anyone Available!!![edit]

Hi to anyone reading this :-). This is User: Tampico1. I very recently made this account in order to enjoy all the fun and privileges of editing Wikipedia!!! However, I'm having some trouble making Talk pages, editing and replying to other users' comments at the moment. Whenever I make any kind of New Section, Edit, or Talk Page, it seems to get "reverted", effectively removing the change that I made. Next to each revert displays a message in Capital letters stating "Block Evasion". The revert seems to be done automatically by an account entitled "Keri". I have posted on the Talk Page for "Keri" to ask for help with this, but have not gotten a response yet. Is anyone else who knows Wikipedia well available to talk on here with me about this and explain how to correct the edits or improve them so that they don't get reverted? Requesting to please be unblocked, as the accusation that this account is a Sock Puppet is false and contains no evidence except suspicion. Attempts to communicate with the accusers and instigators of the Sock Puppet investigation were not met and the block was made very hastily and in spite of only circumstantial evidence. No vandalism or controversial edits were made by this account. This is the only account I have ever made and the users of the other accounts are not known to me. All requests to engage in civil conversation with the Administrators concerned were unduly ignored. Please give this request full attention and look over edits made by this account. Hi Huon and thanks for getting back to me. Can I politely ask what you mean by "behavioural evidence"? As far as I can tell, the term sockpuppetry means making accounts in order to vandalise pages - neither of which were actually done. Thanks, Tampico1 (talk) 04:13, 27 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please review the block. As far as I can see, no evidence exists for any vandalism from this account. In addition, no evidence exists for creation of multiple accounts. If there is anything anyone believes to be evidence for either of these things, please post them here so I can see for myself what you are referring to. Thanks for your co-operation.

Hi Yunshui - Just had another look at the Aurora Prince page and can see so far only one edit that user made that may be similar to mine - the edit concerning birthplace of Interpol Paul Banks, I think you mean. There was a reference on there at one point to a online birth record which had his birthplace listed as Colchester, rather than Clacton, and this point came up a few times in a fan forum I belong to and possibly other places. The citation for his birth record is no longer there, so presumably that is no longer an issue. If there are other edits you are referring to, I can't find them personally so if you point them out to me that would be helpful. And the reason my account hasn't done much is because all of my edits were undone and then I got blocked!!! I honestly think that if you are able to see the edits that I made before my account got blocked, you will be able to see that they are good-faith edits and not vandalism. Not suggesting I may not have made a few rookie mistakes, but every one of them was for the good of the page and in the interests of bringing them up to a good standard (ie. removing unsourced content, adding in new citations, starting Talk pages to discuss contentious points). Thank you for your input Keri, but once again, these fanciful ideas are 100% in your ow mind. Not only do you have absolutely nothing in the way of convincing evidence to back up these bizarre delusions, but your continued preoccupation with pressing this absurdist non-agenda that you have is bordering on the worrying. I sincerely hope you get some respite soon, Keri - it seems very much as though you need it (the behavioural evidence for this is overwhelming). In the meantime, can I very kindly suggest that you try and get yourself a life? For The Attention of User: NeilN[edit]

Hi there NeilN. I just received your notification about the Block placed on my account with the given reason as "Sock Puppet". I have read the page on what the term means and think a misunderstanding must have occurred. My account "Tampico1" is my only account, and not a Sock Puppet of "Aurora Prince" or any other user.

If you could please take the time to read through the Changes and Talk Pages that I created, I hope that will help. None of them were intentionally made to vandalise any page, and if that is how they were perceived, I would really appreciate an explanation as to how to improve them.

I attempted to contact User: "Keri" about this before, but did not get an explanation. As I stated before, this account (Tampico1) is most certainly not a Sock Puppet of User: "Aurora Prince". In fact, I do not even know the person that account belongs to. My account here is for editing pages in a helpful manner and I have made every effort to contact the Users who believed it to be a bad account.

Could you possibly contact the User "Aurora Prince" to ask them to confirm that "Tampico1" is not a Sock Puppet of their account(s)? I can't see any contact details for them and obviously can't make Talk Pages at the moment.

If not, could you please let me know where I need to go or who to contact in order to get this misunderstanding cleared up. I have not made the Block Appeal page yet, as the instructions advised me to contact you first. Please could you respond to this message as soon as possible! Comment You may wish to peruse the Standard Offer; I'm putting this on the page of this account, because I'm assuming this is the one you are most likely to be reading today. But you should address the problems that have brought us to this point using the Aurora Prince account and page. Just creating another account tomorrow, and repeating the behaviour that led to the indefinite block all over again, only increases the difficulty you face in regaining the trust of the community here.
