File copyright problem with File:Raffa1974.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Raffa1974.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Radiant chains (talk) 05:28, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I notice that this image is from the Italian Wikipedia, where it is tagged as being in the public domain in Italy. However, the tag on the image description page there indicates that this image should not be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons because it may not be in the public domain worldwide. I've removed the {{wikipedia-screenshot}} tag from the image here on the English Wikipedia, because it was clearly inappropriate (this is not a screenshot of a Wikipedia page, it's a frame from an Italian film), but I'm not sure what the correct tag is because I don't know the copyright situation for this film. If you have more information, please add it to the image description page. Otherwise Wikipedia:Media copyright questions might be able to answer questions. Let me know if I can be of help. —Bkell (talk) 13:54, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also File:Stradamasina.jpg. —Bkell (talk) 13:56, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Those were all pics of the Italian wikipedia, precisely not to break any rule, or anything. :) theweirdalien (talk) 02:06, 22 June 2009 (UTC)theweirdalien[reply]

They aren't pictures of the Italian Wikipedia (such as File:Italian-wikipedia-screenshot.png), they are pictures from the Italian Wikipedia. (This distinction is important; it's why the {{wikipedia-screenshot}} tag is inappropriate for these images.) But really they aren't originally from the Italian Wikipedia, they are from films. Unfortunately the Wikipedias in different languages have different rules about image licensing, so what may be OK on the Italian Wikipedia is not necessarily OK on the English Wikipedia (especially images such as these which are specifically tagged as not being suitable for the Wikimedia Commons). —Bkell (talk) 10:13, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free files in your user space[edit]

Hey there Theweirdalien, thank you for your contributions. I am a bot, alerting you that non-free files are not allowed in user or talk space. I removed some files I found on User:Theweirdalien. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use files to your user-space drafts or your talk page.

  • See a log of files removed today here.

Do you know how the "Show preview" button works? Your many edits to the same section suggest that you do not. Please use the "Show preview" button that is to the right of the "Save page" button. It shows you what the article will look like if you save it, but it prevents you from having to make multiple edits to the same article that could have been done in one edit if you had only previewed it before saving and seen the mistake you fix in your next edit.

Also, reverting that change was not appropriate. Fandraltastic started a new article to move that information over and shorten the main article. For articles that are very long, like the Rogue article, that is the appropriate thing to do. Spidey104 16:15, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Better source request for File:Raffa1974.jpg[edit]

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 21:03, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for October 5[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Rogue (comics), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Aka (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The file File:Raffa1974.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Orphaned image. Commons has a better (clearer, higher resolution) version with better source information at File:Raffaella Carrà 1974.png, although in a different (lossless) format.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.  ★  Bigr Tex 21:58, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The file File:Stardustflick.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Copyright concern, orphaned image. If this image was in use, I'd be more likely to try to untangle the copyright questions but it doesn't feel worth the effort for an image already hosted elsewhere within the wikimedia organization.

Orphaned non-free image File:Monicavitti reddesert.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Monicavitti reddesert.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:42, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
