Notability of Template:Deathriders[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Template:Deathriders, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Template:Deathriders seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Template:Deathriders, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. A tag has been placed on Neil Turbin, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 19:50, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please read the talk page before reverting to your statement he's the original vocalist. This needs verification, especially since it can be shown he was not. Thank you. Cheers, Lindsay 07:40, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please get a handle on this and get your facts straight Lindsay. Where did you learn about metal? Neil Turbin is/was the original singer of Anthrax. Jason Rosenfeld, Scott Ian Rosenfeld's adolescent kid brother was a temporary singer for a few months, because they couldn't find a suitable singer. He was a 14 year old kid that Scott made sing for his band while they tried to get a real frontman/singer who actually had been in a band before and could actually sing and perform in front of an audience. John Connelly was a roadie for Anthrax who tried out for the band a few times, which does not now or ever make him a member of Anthrax. Neither Jason or John did anything notable regarding Anthrax other than being related to the band or being a friend of the band and helping to move equipment. To prove that Neil Turbin was the original singer of Anthrax, shows whats wrong with Wikipedia in the first place. Here's the facts/proof positive that you seem to be unaware of which is likely due in part to revisionist history perpetrated over years by the band itself and publicist. Thank you, Thrashiq, now we're getting somehwere. Please be polite, and assume good faith; my goal is, i assume, the same as yours ~ to make this as good and accurate as possible. The link you have given, however, does not seem to mention Turbin at all, so i'm having trouble understanding how it is a valid reference. If you are actually quoting the book, i suggest yo take a look at this page which will help you do so in a manner that is replicatable for others. If you already know this, i apologise. The same page will also show you how to format the link/reference so that it show properly in the page.
I would also point out that links to YouTube are often frowned upon and may be removed; they certainly need reformatting to show properly.
Let me reiterate, my goal is to make this as good as can be; i have no axe to grind, and am happy to help if need be. Cheers, Lindsay 12:29, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Incidentally, this conversation really belongs on the talk page of the article; i'm copying it there, and suggest that you answer and we continue it there, that way other interested editors can see it & participate. Cheers, Lindsay 14:17, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of "Template:DEATHRIDERS is currently recording its debut album, "Back with a Vengeance", for a 2009 release."[edit]

A page you created, Template:DEATHRIDERS is currently recording its debut album, "Back with a Vengeance", for a 2009 release., has been tagged for deletion in accordance with our deletion policy. In particular, it meets one or more criteria for speedy deletion; the relevant criterion is:

Test pages.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

If you have any questions, please contact an administrator for assistance. Thank you Tuvok[T@lk/Improve] 14:49, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The criteria for why the subject is notable is the band Deathriders is a band that has famous ex-members of other notable bands like Anthrax and Hirax that are all currently active today, but Deathriders is on tour in the US and Japan in 2008. Deathriders formed in 2003 and it's about time there was an encyclopedic entry on Wikipedia. There is an encyclopedic entry on Rockdetector which also published a book that has Deathriders in it's pages: http://www.rockdetector.com/artist,65391.sm
Why is it that editors on Wikipedia want to remove encyclopedic information of value? This removal of content translated into a modification of the truth. Please reconsider, reinstate and do not delete Deathriders Wikipedia page.

ThrashIQ

Slight reformat of previous post to make indentation clearer.
I think that you are mistaken, ThrashIQ. Not about Deathriders's importance, i have no opinion about that. But what you had created, what Tuvok was talking about was not an article, but a template. If you look here you'll probably see what i mean. You probably intended to create Deathriders, instead.
May i suggest you take a good look at WP:Help and WP:HEP for a general guide on structure and the markup language (you seem to have had some difficulty formatting several of your edits correctly). Also, you can experiment on the Sandbox page, or even make one of your own right here.
If i can be of any help, please ask at my talk page. Cheers, Lindsay 19:10, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Justice Howard, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.fotographicmagazine.com/issue1/7deadlies/justice/justice1.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Deathriders[edit]

No, I'm not a thrash metal expert by any means, but I can see copyright violations; I don't have to be an expert for that. I've re-checked the contents of that article, and the main content is lifted directly from this site. If you wish to write articles without copying them from other sources, please use the article wizard. If it's encyclopaedic, notable and verifiable, of course it can be included, but it needs to be your own work. If you wish to rewrite it, please do so, but write it in your own words. That was the only problem. Hope this helps. Best, PeterSymonds (talk) 08:53, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Justice Howard[edit]

A tag has been placed on Justice Howard requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. October 2008[edit]

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Neil Turbin. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Peter Fleet (talk) 16:17, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 17:58, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Please avoid using words like "powerhouse" in articles to describe musicians. The term is not encyclopedic, nor does it maintain a neutral point of view. Please see the guideline on using terms like that, and why they're not really advisable to use in articles. Thanks! ArakunemTalk 18:10, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Template:DEATHRIDERS[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:DEATHRIDERS, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

it looks as though this was created as a Template instead of an article, which would probably be Speedyable anyway, under A7 category.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on [[Talk:Template:DEATHRIDERS|the article's talk page]] explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Cheers, LindsayHi 13:32, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

August 2009[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Neil Turbin. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. The Real Libs-speak politely 17:52, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
