Hi Tim the Bald and, first of all, welcome to Wikipedia. The general welcome template has some tips for you to get started and become a great contributor.

About the military police - I'm sad that you think the way you do about the corps which I've served for almost two years now. Our corps is mostly made up of good people and our primary goal is certainly not to report (give dohot) for poor appearance to combat soldiers. In fact, the overwhelming majority of those who get dohot are jobniks, and combat soldiers mostly don't have a problem with appearance.

Besides, it's not very difficult to dress appropriately and I really don't see a reason not to punish a soldier who takes off his shirt when getting on a bus, or walks around with red crocs. On the other hand, there are some more understandable screw-ups, like if you forgot your beret at home, and military policemen usually do not report on these, especially in the case of combat soldiers. In any case, very few soldiers make it to prison because of appearance and out of the ~1500 guys whom I personally accepted into my prison, I think only two were in for appearance. Most of them get rituk, which is not usually such a big deal. You should also know that the corps have changed since you were in the army and works very differently now, both in how it views dohot, in how it views the prison system, etc.
