Welcome[edit]

There really is no strict policy about welcoming others. There are just users who make it a duty of theirs to welcome new-comers and help them out any way they can.

No, no one is welcomed after making a particular number of edits. Since I patrol the 'recent changes' page everyday, I am able to see all the most recent edits. I can also see when someone opens a new account, and I welcome them if they havent been welcomed yet.

Anyone can patrol the recent changes page if they are willing. If you are willing to do so, just go to Recent Changes. You will see all the most recent changes; and you can revert vandalsim and welcome others yourself. To welcome someone, all you have to do is place {{welcome}} on their talk page, followed by your signature ~~~ and the welcome note will come up alsong with your name when you save it. You might also want to become a member of the Welcoming Committee. If theres anything else you need help with, just let me know.

VWN en WCN[edit]

Beste Toon81,

Al enige tijd is er een Nederlandstalig chapter in oprichting, te vinden op http://nl.wikimedia.org . Dit wordt de Vereniging Wikimedia Nederland (VWN). Je kunt je interesse om lid te worden van deze vereniging hier aangeven.

Deze vereniging gaat eind augustus/begin september een Wikimedia Conferentie in Nederland (WCN) houden, volgend op Wikimania in Boston, gedeeltelijk erop inspelend middels een aantal discussiegroepen. Om iets dergelijks te organiseren is imput erg gewenst. Dus als je wilt meehelpen, of als je interesse hebt om bij een dergelijk evenement aanwezig te zijn, geef dat dan aan op nl.wikimedia.
