Dog Intelligence[edit]

Thanks for your edit on the Border Collie page regarding dog intelligence. Without turning this into a 3RR event, you need to read Coren's book in order to better understand his ranking.

He does indeed rank intelligence based on his three factors of dog "IQ", one of which is breed specific related to working and obedience. You may discount his work as based on a dog's understanding of simple commands, but the referenced quote does indeed rank dogs based on Adaptive, Instinctive, and Working/Obedience. Again, I'm not disputing Coren's research or publication, that's not the point of editing a Wikipedia article. The subject of intelligence in the Border Collie article is supported by a referenced material that promotes the claim and backs it with research. Your, my, or anyone else's feeling, disagreement, or whatever isn't relevent. If you'd like to contest the claim, do so with reference to published material in the article. If you want to contest Coren's work or publication do so in his article.
I'm not trying to be hard-nosed, but you must refute a referenced point with another valid published opinion. I can help if you have the info to refute the claim. CMacMillan 03:20, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
