Javier Lopez retirement

He retired from MLB in 2017, not Giants in 2016. You want it under his Giants career section for 2016. That's in the wrong place and not where a person would look. It's odd that you'd mention chronology in the lead section, because jamming it in immediately after the teams summary isn't chronological. The retirement news appears at the end of the lead section, and now in a separate "retirement" subsection with source. Please try to remember that this is a collaborative effort. Image sizes

I often see you change from 270px to 250px. What is the significance of this, and should all always be consistent at 250? Muggsys (talk) 22:23, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

In the vast majority of cases images larger than 250px stretch the infobox, and are unnecessarily large in my opinion. I have always thought that the image should take up the full 250px of white space and no more. Exceptions to this would be in cases of images that are much larger vertically than they are horizontally, and vice-versa. When in doubt, use your best judgment. And as a minor side-note, the "px" at the end of the number adds nothing for the infobox. It doesn't take anything away, but it isn't needed to size the image. Currently editing sections—conflicts

You saw that I was currently editing the page. No need to do edits at the same time and cause conflicts and losing the edits. Best to wait until one person is done. And since when is MLBTradeRumors a credible source? I remember you saying it can't be used, especially by the site's writers. I used a Rays source. Thanks. I'll let you at it now. First off, no. You can't see if someone else is editing a page at the same time as you. When transactions happen, it's best if an experienced editor gets in and adjusts the page with reliable sourcing to prevent anonymous/new editors jumping in (with good intentions, but poor execution usually). When a transaction happens, I usually make my edits to a page, then copy-paste the version that I have edited over a new, "fresh" version, which means I don't get the edit conflict warning. I had no idea that you had edited the page. As for sourcing, WP:TWITTER puts us in a slightly awkward situation, as the team source is preferable to a third party for confirming transactions, however the policy states that twitter isn't an appropriate source if it makes a claim about a third party. I would see both the twitter source you used and the MLBTradeRumors source I provided as suitable temporary sources, awaiting a team-issued press release or news article from MLB. To close, please try to not take things so personally. It should be obvious that we're both acting in good faith. "Thanks. I meant you'd know because you'd see edits being made a minute earlier. Unless it's someone I know is making bad edits or vandalizing, I try to wait for no more edits being made. Also when I edit and then try to save, it tells me there is a conflict with a page being currently being edited (or something along that line.) If you don't notice, sorry to think you "knew." But then when you post your edit, or I "resolve conflict" one of us will lose the current editing. It's not an issue with you, it's what happens to me when someone is editing at the same time as me.

I found the Rays twitter to be the most credible source, until we replace it with the team release. Rays twitter isn't any more a 3rd party than any other until their press release. Their twitter is considered an official announcement. Not Steve Adams. Better to cite Marc Topkin's twitter where that info came from, right? I've never made a MLBTR source, because you told me not to. Knowing it's an acceptable temp source is different then. I originally became more strict about what is a good enough source because of you. So don't take my citation suggestion as an attack. Saying "I'll let you at it" means, concerning the subject of concurrent edits, "I'm done right now." Not giving you or I ownership. Okay, I'm gonna back-track a bit. The long and short of it is, I think I've led you astray here. The official team source is always preferable (your Rays twitter source over the MLBTR source), and as I did say to you earlier, only a team source can confirm a transaction (as third-party sources would only be reporting on rumors or speculation). My edit was incorrect, in that your source was the reliable confirmation of the trade, and for removing your edit (though unintentional, due to my avoiding the edit conflict notification) I can only say that I'm sorry. Your twitter source is the preferable source, and I was incorrect to add an MLBTR source for the trade. And yes, the twitter source can and should be improved by the sourcing of a team's press release or official article confirming the transaction (when one becomes available). As for WP:OWN, I can say that, from my personal experience, WP admins take the policy very seriously, and that if you want to stick around here (which I encourage you to do) it would be best to avoid using any language that could lead another editor to believe that you are taking ownership of a page or pages. I have been accused in the past of "owning" pages related to the Toronto Blue Jays, and since then have tried to go the extra-step in ensuring that other editors do not think that. There is a fine line between taking an interest and taking ownership. With regards to "taking things personally", this is again something that I'm drawing from my own personal experience here. Some folks get very territorial and/or angry when someone edits their work. As I've said many times in the past, WP is a collaborative effort, and we're all working together. It appeared to me that you may have been taking my edits personally, though looking back on it now it is clear to me that you were in the right, and that I was incorrect. There was nothing personal about it. Hopefully I've managed to clear the air here, but if you have further concerns please leave another message. Team Canada Template

Justin Shafer, Brad Allen, Chris Rowley, and John Stilson are not on team Canada. When WBC teams play MLB teams, they are allowed to use the MLB teams minor league depth in order to finish games, so they don't use all their pitchers. For example, a minor league lefty named Jose Fernandez also pitched for Team Canada and he is not Canadian. Thundersticks

In my opinion, no. Thundersticks aren't like the rally monkey, in that they aren't "exclusive" to the franchise. I've got a number of uninflated thundersticks kicking around my house, mostly from Leafs games. I can't say for sure that the inclusion isn't in a policy somewhere, but I wouldn't think so. I second the removal. The Angels don't have a monopoly on thundersticks; all of the other 29 MLB teams have them as well and many other professional sports leagues have them as well. The Sleeved blanket article also doesn't have the Angels template there, despite Angels fans were recorded by Guinness World Records for having the largest gathering of people wearing sleeved blankets.
