Welcome![edit]

Hello, Tuj54739, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

References[edit]

Hi there, thanks for your contributions to Food chain! If you're going to keep editing in the future, wp:Citing sources is a good reference. In particular, it looks like you sort of "blindly" copied the literal HTML title from the webpage where you accessed the Rowland journal article ("Shibboleth Authentication Request") instead of using the actual title of the article ("Light and nutrients regulate energy transfer through benthic and pelagic food chains"). I did appreciate that you included the DOI—that allowed me to go back and re-create the entire citation. In general, it's more helpful to cite the actual source of the information instead of the particular location where you happened to find it; you'll notice I used ResearchGate to get a copy of the article but I didn't actually cite ResearchGate as the source, I just mentioned that the information could be found there.

Please let me know if you have any questions! If you respond on your talk page here, you can notify me by using the template {{ping|Ignatzmice}} in your response. Welcome! Ignatzmicetalk 14:14, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
