Richard Hoad

Hi Tunjiwunji, and weclome to Wikipedia. Sorry, but I've again removed Richard Hoad from the list of notable inhabitants because I don't think he was notable (i.e., famous/significant). I based this conclusion simply on Google searches I did which turned up next to nothing. If you have evidence that he was notable (such as a book about him, or reviews in major newspapers/magazines), then that would be different. Cheers, --A bit iffy (talk) 12:05, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Oops! Sincere apologies, I didn't notice you had messaged me. To be honest I didn't even know how/where I received messages with Wikipedia! By chance I logged back in to try and get my entry to "stick" and noticed I had a message. The reason I kept attempting to re-enter my entry was simply because I thought I wasn't entering it correctly! Once again, sorry for not noticing your message (and the Wikipedia messaging system!) earlier.

The person whom I wished to enter into the list was a dear and close friend who passed away back in October 2006 at the young age of 38. :( He was a notable character in Brighton and Hove, having lived there all his life. He schooled in Portslade, lived throughout Brighton and Hove and was well known by many local people, frequently found drinking in the Quadrant and Green Dragon pubs, to name a couple. He was an amazingly talented artist, producing magnificent mureals on the walls of various squats in and around Brighton and infamously produced the artwork for 80's local Brighton band, Future Stairway and their "Grapevine Session" release.

I just felt, that having been a life-long Brighton resident, he deserved to be remembered in some way, and felt that the list of notable people of Brighton & hove on Wikipedia was a good place to do that.

Hi, yes I wondered if that was the case (a departed friend). You know, it's quite possible I'd run into him myself as I've been going to the Quadrant since the early 80s and I often used to go to the Green Dragon, though the name doesn't ring a bell. Anyway, sorry, but I still think he can't be included. This may sound harsh, but Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia after all, and one of its policies is that Wikipedia is not a memorial. However, as he sounds an interesting person, I think the My Brighton and Hove site (specifically, the People section) might welcome an entry on Richard.
