Are you really? It's rather strange for an organization to favor us with direct information ;D. However I should also caution you that, depending on how this account is used, it might be construed as a meta:Role account. Also, if this is a generally shared account, its users should be careful not to go adding unverifiable things, or writing about themselves. If you (all) already know all this: I don't intend to teach you to "suck eggs", but there have been some recent not-low-profile cases where people got caught up when trying to add info about themselves or their agencies. Sorry for the long delay in response, we are really the Public Affairs Office for USSTRATCOM. Currenlty we have only one person responsible for updating the Wiki page, and as far as verifiable statements, most anything we post to the site goes through a rigorous approval process and those are double checked by me to ensure only statements with neutral language are posted. The intention is to keep the site up to date, that is all, if our presence here is not appropriate, please let us know.

There's nothing "inappropriate" with your account as far as I know, and if you do check contributions ahead of time you'll probably not have too much trouble. If you have the exact sources for the info and can add them @ the same time then we'd all appreciate that (Unless you do already, then ignore that ;)). Finally, you might want to sign yourself when editing talk pages (4 tildes) so people can follow up personally if need be. Thanx again 68.39.174.238 05:31, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Offutt[edit]

Might be nice if you could upload an image of Offutt. Article is missing anything of the sort. aa v ^ 08:12, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We'll do.

Welcome[edit]

Hi, I just stumbled on this userpage. Nice of Strategic Command to make an account. I noticed that nobody has given you the official welcome, which perhaps explains why you didn't sign the above posts, so here you are:

Welcome!

Hello, USSTRATCOM PAO, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  - BT 15:24, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the official welcome! We read through the ROE for the site, but didn't get all the style notes. We will for the future though. USSTRATCOM PAO 20:03, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Very cool[edit]

I personally think its cool that the U.S. Strategic Command is taking an interest in Wikipedia :-) A belated welcome aboard! My only advise is to remember to follow WP:NPOV. - Ta bu shi da yu 14:08, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Role Account[edit]

Hello there.

I would like to request that you send an email to info-en@wikimedia.org so that your account can be verified by our verification process. Currently, there is only one Role account sanctioned on the English Wikipedia. This account must be verified to speak for the government, or it may wind up indefinately blocked in violation of the mentioned role account or as a violation of username policy.

Thanks, Teke (talk) 01:54, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's all standard procedure when someone has a username that is also the name of a well known person or established organization. We just don't want someone impersonating other people/agencies and ruining their reputation on-wiki by deliberately doing something malicious. 68.39.174.238 01:08, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

It has been two months, and from what I have been told you have not submited the requested verification that this account is sanctioned by the United States government. It is not up to us to contact you, you must contact us. The block is set for indefinite until the situation is resolved. Please do contact us. Teke 01:57, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- I'm trying to contact our PAO to let them know about this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.250.2.10 (talk) 19:58, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- I contacted the person who owns this account. They do work in the PA office. They are aware of this situation now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.250.2.10 (talk) 12:41, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the effort, please make sure that Neutral Point of View and Conflict of interest are read by all of you involved in editing, and only one individual should use this account. Anyone can register an account for free, so I suggest just getting your own. Keegantalk 04:24, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
