Chungha[edit]

I hope we could work together to improve on the page, as this would be more efficient and effective. Coolbruh123 (talk)

  • The page is really bad off and it's been like that since it was made. No one was going to fix it so I stepped forward and did it myself. The banner now allows editing as I'm not actively working on it at this time but the way you edit makes things worse and likely to get it nominated for deletion. You have to have a reliable cite to place something in there. You can't just put whatever without proof. The only reason you've been able to do that is no one has been monitoring the page. Once someone notices it will be deleted. People have already started going through kpop articles like Chungha's and deleting them because they have no sources/use unreliable sources.Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 00:50, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have a question to ask. Chungha was casted as a host in Ah! Sunday - A Running Miracle, and is it allowed to be listed? Im not sure and i do not want to ruin the article so I want to confirmed with you before doing so. Thank You. Coolbruh123 (talk)

  • Yes, but it needs a reliable source. Host positions are allowed and when people are cast members or contestants it's allowed. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 14:37, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I am the creator of various Wikipedia articles related to U-KISS. We can be partners. Is it okay with you? jmarkfrancia (talk) 02:55, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've been searching for wikipedia editors that can help me for UKISS-related articles for over a year now. Glad i came accross ur profile! I'll try to find other sources for Stop Girl to help. jmarkfrancia (talk) 13:32, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Ukiss2ne14lyfe,

Per WP:RS, forums are not reliable sources and should not be used on Wikipedia. In general, K-pop articles on Wikipedia need more reliable sources so that's what I'm working on right now. It looks like you and another editor disagree on which members are in the second/third/fourth generation. If no one provides a source for that in the near future, I'm going to remove the different colors/generations from the timeline. --Random86 (talk) 00:07, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Famousbirthdays.com as a source[edit]

Hi Ukiss2ne14lyfe. I'm in the process of removing famousbirthdays.com as a source from Wikipedia, because it's not reliable (See Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_153#Is_famousbirthdays.com_a_reliable_source_for_personal_information). I noticed that you've added it, and wanted to make sure you understood why it's being removed. If you disagree, let's discuss it. Thanks. --Ronz (talk) 17:08, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

DNA (BTS Single)[edit]

This is not the correct form of disambiguating song articles on Wikipedia. DNA (BTS song) is the correct place for this article to be. Singles are songs first and foremost, and we don't capitalise the s. Ss112 06:57, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can't really put it as DNA (song) when someone has connected it to the Love Yourself:Her so....
Are you meaning to say you don't know how to edit a redirect? Click on the blue link where it says "Redirected from DNA (BTS song)" at the top of the article. Then you get to here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=DNA_(BTS_song)&redirect=no Ss112 07:01, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I thought a mod or something could only do things like that or change titles.
It's your material, as you wrote it. You can move it by copying it wherever you like. Ss112 07:14, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You've moved the page, but again, the s in "song" is still capitalised. Hence why I linked you to the correct page above. Ss112 07:22, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Date formats[edit]

Hi. Please adapt the date format in references for the page you're editing. If the page uses mdy date format (December 11, 2017), use that. If the page uses dmy date format (date first, 11 December 2017), use that. The BTS pages you've been editing of late use mdy, so please format your dates with the month first. Thank you. J-Hope’s production credits[edit]

Hello, I noticed that you’ve added J-Hope’s production credits to his article, however you haven’t cited a reliable source for any of it. When you have a moment, could you please provide sources for these credits? Thanks, Alexanderlee (talk) 17:21, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

All of them are cited on Wikipedia already if you click the album and their links. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 17:53, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Ukiss2ne14lyfe: On the album articles they’re sourced, yes, however on J-Hope’s article they are unsourced. If someone was to look at the article all they would see is unsourced claims of credit, you can’t just expect people to go to another article for verification. Alexanderlee (talk) 18:16, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
A link to another article has always been accepted. Mods have told me it is acceptable before. They only said unreliable and unsourced does not work. There are many articles on Wikipedia that make pages that way. The only problems I can see is 1 Verse and Hope World. Both already have sources on this page but I can connect them there as well. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 18:35, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Ukiss2ne14lyfe: In that case I apologise. I'd never noticed or heard of that before, thank you for informing me of this. :) Alexanderlee (talk) 18:56, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I was told that a few years ago so maybe they started changing the policy? Not sure, this is the first time someone brought this up with me since then. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 19:23, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Billboard[edit]

Hi Ukiss2ne14lyfe!

I just wanted to let you know that the name of the magazine is "Billboard", not "Billboards", and since it's the name of a magazine, you would italize it like Billboard. Thank you so much for making the LY era solo pages! DanielleTH (Say hi!) 00:34, 9 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Year of song.[edit]

Please note this refers to the first known year of song, not subsequent years, as per cat says, "Songs written, or first published, recorded, released or performed in XXXX." Thanks. --Richhoncho (talk) 08:37, 30 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Citation tags[edit]

Hello, I’ve noticed that you've recently been adding citation tags to many articles, and this is great. However, I’ve also noticed that many things you’re tagging for citation are already cited in the article; you can either use ref name to repeated the cite or just leave it, but it doesn’t need to be tagged when it’s already sourced. Alexanderlee (talk) 23:03, 14 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) Alexanderlee: I agree. The user also seems to be tag bombing the articles, which is actually a form of disruptive edit, rather than being a responsible editor by helping to find reliable sources for the article. The user also added the citation tags where it is unnecessary, for example the literal translation of foreign words. Heolkpop (talk) 06:08, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Heolkpop This seems to only be a problem in the kpop community. Readers shouldn't have to figure out if it's been tagged somewhere else, or know it's a translation error that's making the meaning change. There should be the reference backing the information at the end. Even if it's been sourced earlier in the article it should be tagged again so regardless it needs a cite. If you as an editor know it's sourced somewhere else you should be placing the cite where it's blank too. No one is going to study a Wikipedia page and try and figure out if it's been sourced elsewhere. The whole point of wiki is to be able to follow links to good articles and it seems the kpop articles in general are failing at this. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 13:24, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Also, there is no rule that states if someone tags a cite they must find one themselves for it too. Tagging a cite is merely communicating to the community that something is lacking here and it needs fixing. It's not disruptive if it's the truth and it needs a cite.Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 13:28, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Ukiss2ne14lyfe: First of all, see WP:TAGBOMB. If you are going to spam the citation tag {{cn}} millions of times, the refimprove template {{refimprove}} should be used instead. Thereafter, give a heads up on the reasons why you added the tag on the article's talk page by pointing out which section needs improvements. Secondly, take a look at Taylor Swift, which is a featured article. Not a single citation is in the lead paragraph as it is supposed to be a summary of the whole article. Even so, citations are only added where necessary and not onto every sentence in the lead. Thirdly, based on what you are saying, so you knew that some citations have already been given somewhere in the article, yet you did not search for it and use refname to repeat the citation, as per Alexanderlee's comment. That shows lazy and irresponsible editing. Lastly, you do not have to give citations for every single sentence in the article. See WP:BLUESKY. I will not be commenting here if you at least take the initiative to do what Alexanderlee stated but all you did is to add the {{cn}} tags, not on one but on many articles. Heolkpop (talk) 15:17, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Heolkpop No quotes are in the Taylor Swift front paragraph because the beginning paragraph is known to be a summarizing piece. The rest of the article is meant to expand and show sources, which is clearly not happening with the articles I tagged. If you have a problem with tagging things that need to be tagged then you have a bias. Leaving all those known unreliable sources is irresponsible too. It's better to make it clear to everyone where the problems are instead of having people guess. Readers will not know what is properly backed up with facts. Some editors still do not know what are good sources, let alone readers. Those pages don't matter to me anyways. I was just trying to improve kpop articles in general so I have zero bias towards them, which is what those pages needed. You can do what you want with the pages. I'm just going to stick to the articles I normally edit and eventually an admim out of the kpop community will notice and start deleting articles. The only reason a lot of them haven't been deleted already is because a lack of page views and edits. If half of those problems going on in those articles were in a popular visited page they would have already been deleted.Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 15:59, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Ukiss2ne14lyfe: In what way am I biased? I am commenting about this issue in general. Some of your sources in the articles you frequently edit in are unreliable yet you still added them anyway. There are also unreliable sources in those articles, such as the use of Youtube as source. Furthermore, you have already been advised on Jeon So-mi page, in which your edits have been reverted due to WP:OVERTAG and other reasons like reliable sources have been added but you still added the {{cn}} tag. How about taking an effort to check through? And what makes you think that only admins can delete the Wiki pages? Experienced editors can delete them too, and there are many of them patrolling around K-pop related pages, especially those with low page views. Well, you said you want to improve those pages so why don't you help by adding reliable sources for all those tags that you have added? You should practise what you preach unless you are not a person of your word. Heolkpop (talk) 16:43, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Heolkpop They were unreliable until recently when someone showed me the page of reliable and unreliable sources, which I also noted above stating many editors aren't aware of what's reliable. Youtube is able to be used on official accounts, as I noted in my own edit to you, as long as it is uploaded on an official account which was the case. Other people can delete articles but unless you're an admin it can start an editing war, so most regular wiki editors don't do that. Not much of a point when stans just go back and reinstate it.Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 16:57, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Once it's published you can't really lock the page. The only thing that can happen is non-registered users can be blocked from writing on it, but that can only happen if there's a history of vandalism which it doesn't have right now. A lot of people are editing it and adding things that aren't necessarily true/without sources or just fancruft, but those edits are done in good faith unless they keep doing it over and over. No one is doing that so the page doesn't needs to be protected as of yet.
As for adding to the page, if you're unsure how to edit or want second opinions on what should be added there's the talk page. Click the talk page on his wiki article and you can discuss things pertaining to his article there and usually someone will answer. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 14:41, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Jungkook[edit]

Hi, I think these incidents are generally worth including. They may not be permanent injuries but they are still noted in performer bios such as Pink's, (where it was noted the she was not seriously injured)and help build the narrative about a performer's career. Battleofalma (talk) 12:03, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Battleofalma I still don't think it should be added. JK didn't help build a narrative when he got injured, and it didn't really affect the show since the other six are still able to dance. If you feel different you can bring this to his talk page so others can put their input and it can be decided if that should be included. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 13:29, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Jimin- most tweeted about lists rankings[edit]

I was wondering if you could add Jimin ranking on the U.S. lists for most tweeted about celebrities and musicians (#9 for celebrities and #8 for musicians) to his page. I feel like it could be pretty significant, especially because he doesn't have his own twitter account, and it could possibly fit under the Impact and Influence section on his page.

It was confirmed by the Twitter communications team here: https://twitter.com/TwitterComms/status/1070415315593506827

Close paraphrasing in Singularity (song)[edit]

Hi. I'm afraid the Singularity (song) article you contributed to has parts which are very closely paraphrased from [1]. This can be a problem under both our copyright policy and our guideline on plagiarism.

While facts are not copyrightable, creative elements of presentation – including both structure and language – are. For an example of close paraphrasing, consider the following: The source says:

In a dark room full of pastel-colored flowers, he is being shed only by a little bit of sunlight, looking mysterious and dreamy. The restrained choreography acted out with white masks in a dark background, expresses his self who acted fake to possess love. The cracked ice that appears numerous times in the clip seems to represent the moment that he realizes his falsely acting ego.

The article says:

In another scene he is in a dark room full of pastel-colored flowers, appearing mysterious and dreamy. The restrained choreography acted out with white masks in a dark background, expresses his self who acted fake to possess love. Cracked ice appears numerous times in the clip, which seems to represent the moment that he realizes his falsely acting ego.

This is an example; there are other passages that similarly follow quite closely.

As a website that is widely read and reused, Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously to protect the interests of the holders of copyright as well as those of the Wikimedia Foundation and our reusers. Wikipedia's copyright policies require that the content we take from non-free sources, aside from brief and clearly marked quotations, be rewritten from scratch. So that we can be sure it does not constitute a derivative work, this article should be revised to separate it further from its source. The essay Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing contains some suggestions for rewriting that may help avoid these issues. The article Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2009-04-13/Dispatches also contains some suggestions for reusing material from sources that may be helpful, beginning under "Avoiding plagiarism". Please let me know if you have questions about this. —gnu57 03:14, 26 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

BTS V[edit]

Sorry but I disagree about it being a fancruft. Can you emphasize what's particularly wrong with what I added? The title of the section is "Impact and Influence" so I believe I needed to add that. Being in a textbook that's formerly Psy's spot is a big deal after all. And also being an "idol textbook", I only emphasized the part when various idols cited him as a role model and trainees watching his stage gestures. Isn't that also an influence? It's what's also written on the news article.Shanella12345 (talk) 16:02, 14 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please check out Wikipedia:Fancruft because I think it would be clear then. The only people that would care about that sort of thing is fans and Wikipedia is not a fanboard. Even adding courses uni's study on BTS is considered inconsequential and/or fancruft so that stuff definitely wouldn't make it. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 19:31, 14 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I purple you is also acknowledged by non fans and other fandoms. It was used by unicef, agt, gma and many popular artists worldwide. It has global impact and used by fans and bts. Its also officially registered in naver dictionary.koreans mostly use naver dictionary. Bts themselves have accepted that purple represents them and army. Used by the whole fandom and also by non fans and all over the world. I don't think it can be considered as fancruft Samekizofu (talk) 05:56, 25 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • If you read my comment on why I deleted it you would know why. "I purple you" is not a cultural phenomenon and places only use it pertaining to BTS. They do not use in for any other reason. People in the streets aren't going "I purple you" and interviewers do not mentioning unless, once again, they are talking about BTS. "I purple you" is a fandom thing. It is only used for BTS.Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 13:43, 28 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A minor mistake in page Suga (Rapper)[edit]

Ukiss2ne14lyfe you updated the wikipage Suga (Rapper) 10 hours ago , as today is his birthday you forgot to change his age as it's still 25 years old in page Manjari1901 (talk) 00:41, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It's not incorrect. An algorithm is in it so that it will change automatically when it hits his birthday on wiki's time. It is still the 8th in certain parts of the world. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 03:12, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, i think some of the info you've input is incorrect.

The thing i'm talking about is:
The song was first teased by Suga on twitter, showing an image of a track and tagging Ed Sheeran with "“This is for you.”

But in the cited article is written:
In December, BTS’ Suga tweeted a teaser image of a song he was working on, addressing Sheeran and saying, “This is for you.”

The article does not say that it is the same song. It says "a song". For all we know, it could be some other song.
It only implies prior ties/communication between Suga and Sheeran.
This misinforming sentence should be removed Kleool (talk) 20:10, 19 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Right now those are being deleted off official award pages, but are still allowed on individual one's. So right now we are just adding them to each song page. For ex) BwL has won 15x I believe so it would be record on the BwL single page. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 13:46, 28 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Update of Jimin's Wikipedia Page[edit]

Hello. We are Jimin Global, a union of fanbases and fan accounts of BTS' Park Jimin. We hope to update the account. However, we saw that it is semi-protected. May we ask that the protection be unlocked this weekend so we can properly edit please? Thank you. JiminGlobal (talk) 14:30, 31 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Map of the Soul Persona[edit]

Hi. I pinged you because you have a lot of article creations on BTS. With the current status of the album page, can suitable changes to the page help it to be promoted to a GA? Do you know editors who are willing to work on that page? Thanks --Ashleyyoursmile (talk) 11:33, 14 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Check Spring Day talk page please[edit]

Pinged you re: some questions I have about the UK weekly charts links. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 23:43, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jungkook's Awards Table[edit]

Hi! Is it possible to add up JK's Guinness World Record for Most Retweeted Tweet in 2019? I just can't find another source aside from allkpop. Thank you! Sevenbluelions (talk) 01:37, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think it would be better to just add it to the main body instead of a graph. A better article besides allkpop would be needed though. If you find an article in a different language that is more reputable it can be used. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 19:36, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

My universe and regarding sales(BTS PAGE)[edit]

In the para where it's written about 5 billboard hot 100 number 1 and compared to Michael Jackson era, can you also add my universe topping the billboard hot 100 there and compare it with The Beatles era.? Beatles got 6 in 1year and 2 weeks, BTS got in 1 year and 1 month. But it's fastest since beatles. You can get sources on Google easily.

In the line where it's written more than 20 M album sale on gaon. Can you change it to "more than 20M physical album sales" as many people tend to get confuse and think it as records(digital + physical). Data For Life (talk) 19:37, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Data For Life it would be easier to ask on the talk page. Half the time adding stuff to that page is a debate on there, and I'm not sure how other editors would feel about adding it and it's significance. They might say adding it to the My Universe song page is enough. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 19:55, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for October 13[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Sarah J. Maas, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Deadline. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Revert on Apex Legend[edit]

In this revert, you restored a poorer version of the text and a WP:PRIMARY video source. Based on your summary, I gather you might have been a bit confused about the nature of my edit or its content. Please take more care to examine what content you are reverting and what you are restoring. Hemantha (talk) 03:55, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

7Fates reviews are coming out[edit]

Should 7Fates be considered to be moved to the BTS filmography page, and taken from the main page. Have you read any of the new online reviews? ErnestKrause (talk) 23:57, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ErnestKrause I haven't looked into it much since adding it tbh. I think the video was just an advertisement for the webtoon though. I don't think it's an actual show. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 06:11, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
