Removing or editing talk page comments.[edit]

Hi Uncannydazzler. Please be careful in making edits like this. If you want to change or remove something you posted, please follow WP:REDACT; it should be OK to do such things as long as nobody has replied or not too much time has passed. On the other hand, if someone has replied or there has been other editing made to the page since you added the post; it’s generally better to strike through the post instead. Just make sure you leave an edit summary explaining why.

Regardless, you should really never be removing posts made by others, even your students, absent a serious policy/guideline violation or a formatting/syntax error that impairs understanding as explained in WP:TPO. It might be good to make sure your students are aware of this as well since re-factoring talk page discussions are one area that newer editors often find themselves quickly having issues with others even when mistakes are unintentionally made. — Marchjuly (talk) 23:02, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
