Your edits to Alexander Wang

In this edit, your edit summary noted that the New York Post is unreliable. Yet you removed the reference to nbcnewyork.com, and left the reference to the Post in the article. Did you intend to do that?

In the same edit, you also removed the text at the beginning of the section, which meant that the second paragraph in the section talked about a lawsuit that the article hadn't mentioned being filed. Please be more careful.

As an aside, I note that you've been blanking your talk page rather than archiving it. You may not know that older warnings and blocks remain in your talk page history, and anyone can see them; blanking the page doesn't delete them from the record. Removing a warning from your talk page is simply taken to mean that you've read it. For more information, see Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Happy editing, BlackcurrantTea (talk) 11:51, 5 February 2021 (UTC)

1. No, obviously I did not intend to do that. You could've simply reverted my edit and explained this in the edit summary. 2. I don't think you're assuming good faith. Why would I be deleting warnings maliciously from my talk page? My longest block is all of 14 minutes, so, if you're implying that I'm trying to hide something, feel free to look through the page history as you said. But you're the only one who cares. Most notices on my talk page are just afc responses anyway, so, there's nothing and there's no real reason for you to assume there isn't nothing. An editor (especially an older one such as you), should always assume good faith. @BlackcurrantTea: versacespace (talk) 13:14, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
I apologise for sounding a bit brusque. I should have said hello and introduced myself. The answer to 'Did you intend to do that' might also have been, for example, 'The nbcnewyork page only aggregates other sources, and although the Post is not reliable, it's useful for clearly stating a certain fact of the case (or specific wording related to it)'. Or perhaps you were in the middle of rewriting that bit, were interrupted, and left it there to remind yourself that it needed to be changed, rather than replacing it with a citation needed tag (which, by the way, is not a good idea, even for deprecated sources).

On the topic of talk pages, blank ones are unusual, and unfortunately, I've most often seen them with editors who would prefer that their history not be examined too closely. Most people, whilst they archive sections either manually or by bot, leave something on the page: one of the talk header templates, a quote or image they like, some bit of philosophy on editing or Wikipedia, the welcome message they received as a new editor. For other editors who want to communicate with you, seeing a blank talk page may be a bit disconcerting, and you might receive repeated notices because editors don't always check the page history to see if someone's already welcomed you, or mentioned a particular item of wiki-etiquette, policy, or guideline. However, it is your talk page, and your choice. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Cheers, BlackcurrantTea (talk) 18:08, 5 February 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for the advice, although you ought to understand why I reacted the way I did when you practically called me a bad person. And for the record, I already had plans to renovate this talk page. versacespace (talk) 05:27, 6 February 2021 (UTC)

Valentine Greets!!!

Hello VersaceSpace, love is the language of hearts and is the feeling that joins two souls and brings two hearts together in a bond. Taking love to the level of Wikipedia, spread the WikiLove by wishing each other Happy Valentine's Day, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past, a good friend, or just some random person.

WaussusBeaver, hey! I just checked out the page and made some edits to it.

I'll run down the list of what I fixed:

  • In the lead section, I removed the mention of a podcast that mentions the show. This may merit inclusion in the article but not the lead prtion.
  • "Home Media" section was removed. Generally in articles about TV programs there isn't a section for this kind of thing, and most articles do not tell you where to watch the show.
  • "Episode 10" subsection was removed. Generally a simple google search is never a reliable source. Ever. Google gets information on programming from other websites, some of which are very unreliable.

Also, I just don't see this article being passed. It needs some major fixes and it's already submitted. Cheers, versacespacetalk to me 19:59, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

Okay, Can you contact some of your Wikipedia friends? I want to see if I can successfully get this published, but I have no way of telling.20:02, 13 February 2021 (UTC)20:02, 13 February 2021 (UTC)20:02, 13 February 2021 (UTC)~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by WaussusBeaver (talkcontribs)

Not sure I follow on your request? I have no "Wikipedia friends". In the article's current state, it probably will not be accepted. There's no way for me to "get people" to accept your article. If the article fits the criteria for inclusion on WIkipedia, it'll get in. If not, it will not be getting in. Cheers, versacespacetalk to me 20:14, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

FYI - On 4 Feb, IP 174.3.212.76 (who may be WaussusBeaver not logged in) had deleted all the AfC Declines and a Rejected. I restored those. Same IP had deleted Declines twice before that. David notMD (talk) 20:27, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Hot Pink (album)

The article Hot Pink (album) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Hot Pink (album) for issues which need to be addressed. We did go over a potential date for the issues to be resolved, but there has since been no more edits on the article or relevant discussion; when do you think you will make further progress by? --K. Peake 21:24, 19 February 2021 (UTC)

Issues with user Ascribe4's edits to Operation: Doomsday

@VersaceSpace: Hello. As you have seen, user Ascribe4 has been adding huge swaths of text to the article Operation: Doomsday that are full of spelling/grammatical errors, bad sources, confusing wording, run-on sentences, unsourced changes and more. I'm not that experienced with what to do when someone heavily messes with an article and refuses to stop/reverts any edits anyone makes, I usually just edit Wikipedia and then go about my business. I've tried to reach out to them on their talk page to no reply. They did make a short post on my talk page, to which I replied outlining all my issues with their edits, and I also posted a copy of my reply to the article's talk page, but again they have not responded and have continued to edit the article as they please. Is there anything that can be done to undo all the bad edits this person has made and prevent them from changing the article any further? I have no issues with people editing the article but the edits this person is making are not at all up to Wikipedia's content standards. --Hostagecat (talk) 06:34, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

@Hostagecat: There's no way to stop him from editing the page. You need to discuss on the talk page. May I know what the issues with his additions are specifically? versacespacetalk to me 12:45, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
@VersaceSpace: I've outlined them all in my post on Operation: Doomsday's talk page. --Hostagecat (talk) 13:31, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Okay, from what I'm seeing, continuing to revert his edits won't go anywhere, so perhaps try to fix any grammatical/spelling issues with his additions. As long as they're making useful contributions, they don't need to be reverted, Hostagecat. versacespacetalk to me 13:40, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

Some "Old Fogey" advice

Hi there, VersaceSpace. I've just removed an infobox from your userpage that reveals personal information we generally advise young editors to keep off the project. Please remember that every single user page is publicly visible, and not everyone who reads these pages does so with good intentions. As well, as an Oversighter, I've suppressed the versions of the userpage that included this personal information; however, in this case I have wound up suppressing every single edit to your userpage. I wanted to reach out to you to let you know why you can't look at prior versions of your userpage. You might find [page] provides some really useful principles and tips. As a project, we're interested in helping you to have a safe and enjoyable time as you develop your editing skills. I hope you'll understand what I've done, and why I've done it. If you have any questions, you can reach me at my talk page or use the "Email this User" feature. Risker (talk) 04:21, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

@Risker: Is this change rooted in policy or courtesy? If it's the latter, can you please remove your edit to my talk page? versacespacetalk to me 12:19, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
Answering here, to keep the conversation together. The userbox I removed contains material covered under the Oversight policy. I'll un-suppress the edits that don't contain the userbox if you really, really think it is important to you, but please don't re-insert that specific userbox. Please note that the suppression isn't a courtesy in any way; there have historically been cases where this kind of information was abused by bad actors to [attempt to] place one or more young editors in harm's way. This isn't just bad for the young user - it is bad for Wikipedia, too. Frankly, most of that guidance for young editors is applicable to *all* editors. Risker (talk) 19:19, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
@Risker: I just read the policy on oversight/supression and it says that information like credit card numbers, home addresses, phone numbers, and social security numbers are examples of content that should be supressed. Age is not on par with any of those. Even the title of the section is contradictory to the action: Removal of non-public personal information. I made this information public, and for a reason. If I didn't want the information to be there, I would not say it anywhere, let alone on in a large rectangle that can be seen by anyone who opens my userpage. Putting my age on my userpage will not put me in "harm's way", and if it did it would be none of your business - in fact, even if that statement I just made ages badly, it would still be none of your business. versacespacetalk to me 04:53, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
Hello again. I had a look 'round the age-related userboxes. How about {{User teen2}}? BlackcurrantTea (talk) 09:39, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
I just put that one in, thanks for looking. I had plans to just add that I'm a high schooler but this works too. versacespacetalk to me 12:12, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

Super Straight

Your page move just showed up on my watchlist. I would not recommend doing what it looks like you're about to do, which is to move a draft that has already been declined at AfC to the mainspace anyway. It is likely to be deleted. GorillaWarfare (talk) 01:47, 11 March 2021 (UTC)

I have not moved it to the mainspace and do not plan to do that until this article is reviewed and eventually passed. versacespacetalk to me 02:01, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
In the future, please wait until that point before moving mainspace pages around, then. We try to avoid having disambiguated titles (like "Super Straight (song)") when there is no entry at the un-disambiguated page ("Super Straight"). Thanks, GorillaWarfare (talk) 02:02, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
I moved the pages because the original draft was listed as a "sexual orientation" even though the content in the draft does not state that. That was the primary reason for the move. versacespacetalk to me 02:06, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
I see that you also moved the draft, which is perhaps all you were trying to do, but you also moved a mainspace page: [1]. It's fixed now, either way. GorillaWarfare (talk) 02:08, 11 March 2021 (UTC)

Max Muscato Page

Hi VersaceSpace. I read you response. Thank you for offer to help, I would like that. I'm new to wikipedia and this is the first page I've created so what would be the next step for us to collaborate? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maxmuscato (talkcontribs) 05:50, 19 February 2021 (UTC)

Hey Maxmuscato, so first off, you're not using external links correctly. Instead of linking to your album via external link, you should just cite that. Also, everything that's unreferenced needs to be either referenced or removed. I also shortened the lead, the only things adequate for the lead are prominent details about you, not your parents, or anybody else. Your brother is an exception since he appears to have greatly influenced your work. versacespacetalk to me 16:39, 19 February 2021 (UTC)
Hi VersaceSpace. I removed the links to my album as you instructed. Could you give me an example from my template of when you mentioned "everything thats unreferenced needs to be referenced or removed." I'm a little confused on that. Thank you for shortening the lead and removing certain information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maxmuscato (talkcontribs) 04:33, 23 February 2021 (UTC)
Hi Maxmuscato! Whenever you want to add content to Wikipedia, the content you add needs to be sourced, generally to a reliable news article. Everything that is not currently sourced needs to be either removed or sourced. For example, the majority of the early life section is not sourced. Most artists have a generally small early life section. View: Doja Cat, Cardi B, Bebe Rexha, Pete Wentz, Rihanna. These articles have small early life sections because there's not a lot of articles about their early lives! Other articles such as Lorde, Taylor Swift, and Diplo, don't even have their own sections for their early life, and instead those elements of their life are incorporated into other sections. It's your choice but I would either shorten or remove that section. Also remember to sign your comment using four tildes (~). versacespacetalk to me 15:55, 23 February 2021 (UTC)

@Maxmuscato: hey. I'm writing here because if this thread is not edited a least once per month it will be archived and I won't be able to edit it. If you still need help with your article, I'm here. versacespacetalk to me 12:11, 25 March 2021 (UTC)

Doja Cat

 Courtesy link: Doja Cat

So, from what I've read MOS:IRELEV talks about it. One picture per section should be enough for reader to understand the topic, there is no need for two pictures to be featured in a section about one era, since they portray the same promotion curse with similar visuals. For my deletion of multiple image template from 2021 section, I didn't see anything like that in any other article, I don't think it's needed for collaborators pictures to be featured in Cat's article, until they would be seen on a stage together or something like that. Plus, Minaj picture is a little too big, that's why I added upright parameter. infsai (dyskusja) 22:45, 17 March 2021 (UTC)

@Infsai: my question is, what constitutes "too many images"? There's really only two for the Hot Pink era, and the multiple image template showcases her collaborations well. You can change the parameters of the Nicki Minaj photo. versacespacetalk to me 23:01, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
Like I said above, in my opinion there is no need for two pictures to be featured in Hot Pink section, one would be enough to ilustrate this era. And about that multiple image template, in my opinion it's unnecessary. Both of those factors made me call it "too many pictures." infsai (dyskusja) 23:19, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
@Infsai: I think it's worth noting that the era in question was stretched out for a very long time, seven singles and over a year and a half (so far) is very long and therefore I think the inclusion of these photos are appropriate. versacespacetalk to me 00:05, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
Long time ago in Lady Gaga article in section about The Fame and The Fame Monster there were also two photos, however only one remained. Taylor Swift's 1989 era also was very long and had 7 singles, but on her article there is only one photo for that era. My point is that even though era might be long, but only one picture would be enough to ilustrate it, since it's only one era. infsai (dyskusja) 08:06, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
Infsai hey! I don't think it's something to fret about, honestly. Also note that perhaps there was only one image in those articles because there was only one appropriate photo. The photos in Doja Cat's article properly demonstrate that part of her career. versacespacetalk to me 12:18, 25 March 2021 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi VersaceSpace. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! ~Swarm~ {sting} 00:18, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

Could you please improve my article for Jack Roth (actor) as the sources that I have cited keep being rejected and I am new to Wikipedia and creating articles, so I am not familiar with what is accepted and reliable.

SamH1991 (talk) 12:41, 30 March 2021 (UTC)

@SamH1991: you're going to need at least 3 news articles or other reliable sources that are independent of the subject. This means nothing written by Roth, his team, and, most importantly, no interviews. Mentioning this because as it stands most of the references are interviews. versacespacetalk to me 16:41, 30 March 2021 (UTC)

@Olakunle Rufai: For starters, the career section is not meant to be a compilation of the subject's most notable events. It's supposed to go in chronological order of how the subject's career has gone. Also, not all the incorrect external links have been removed. The segments of statements which show news articles that cite him should not be there, let alone should the external links. versacespacetalk to me 01:32, 30 March 2021 (UTC)

@VersaceSpace Thank you for the heads up. I'll work on your recommendations immediately and hit you back. Cheers Olakunle Rufai (talk) 15:50, 30 March 2021 (UTC)

@VersaceSpace: Hey! So I removed the external link you mentioned in the career section. Also, I restructured the career section, to show his trajectory in his career. I played it safe so as not to sound like the subject is being promoted. Please, kindly help review again if you can. Thanks a lot for the help so far Olakunle Rufai (talk) 20:47, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

Hi versacespace, I am new to creating wiki pages and really appreciate your help. Hopefully I'm contacting you in the correct way! I was wondering if you changed the title of the page to "Crying Inside EP" because it's supposed to be "Tokyo Bay/Crying Inside EP". If you didn't no problem, but if you did I would appreciate you letting me know how to change it back! thanks again

This is to let you know that removing warnings from your talk page, means you have acknowledged, and read the message. and i know you can see this message because you're obviously watching my page. xo versacespacetalk to me 15:13, 4 April 2021 (UTC)

not quite, you attempted to be sarcastic by beginning with “Be gone”. You haven’t been making the most brilliant moves you know, If you are going to edit here you have to “mature up” and behave yourself. At this rate you’re a tad bit reckless. However, i’m not watching your page because your presence here as of now remains inconsequential to me. In your spare time read MOS:INDENTGAP. Cheers. Celestina007 (talk) 15:26, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
@Celestina007: my existence here is "inconsequential" (according to you) because there's not much I've done wrong. Lugnuts clearly does not care at all, you've been doing the most to try to prove that I'm in the wrong (trust me i've gotten the memo) and the things you've been adding here indicate that my existence here is important to you, because the things you've been saying here show that you think i'm going to do this exact thing again (which i won't, and that's what you want to hear), and I've tried to be civil with you, I even ceased to message you after you removed my comments from your page a second time, because I knew you didn't want to speak to me, and yet you're back for the second time. Stop treating me like an idiot. I don't care if you think I have no experience, I don't care if you think I need referral to the teahouse, and nothing i've done indicates that we're gonna have a problem unless you keep messaging me the way you are right now. Don't scold me for saying "be gone" when you did the exact same thing. And don't come on my talk page multiple times if you're gonna deem my existence inconsequential. Good bye. versacespacetalk to me 16:40, 4 April 2021 (UTC)

Hi there, not too sure if i am doing this right. Just trying to figure out how to talk to people who have messaged me. How can i improve on my article being accepted? It's for a legitimate film. Colinrosssmith (talk) 18:04, 6 April 2021 (UTC)

@Colinrosssmith: hi! assuming you're using the default skin of Wikipedia, in the top right hand corner there should be a variety of buttons which include your user page, your talk page, your sandbox, your settings (preferences), among other things. You can click on the icon that says "talk" to speak to people who have messaged you there. As for your article, you're just gonna need better references. Refs 2 and 3 are unreliable. Ref 4 is paywalled. Ref 7 is a primary source and a bare mention of the topic in general. versacespacetalk to me 18:42, 6 April 2021 (UTC)

Help with Draft:BoomCase

Hi VersaceSpace,

Thanks for looking over my article about the BoomCase. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:BoomCase) I am a bit confused as to why the articles I am citing are not considered published, reliable, secondary sources showing "significant coverage". The sources I have used are Wired magazine, California Home and Design Magazine, Maxim Magazine, Urban Outfitters Blog, San Francisco Chronicle, Huff Post, CNET, Chip Chick, Rolling Stone Magazine, The New York Times, Gizmodo, GQ, Clublife Magazine, DIY Network, Fools Golds Record Blog and some smaller sources. Almost all the sources are well known and reliable, most have done more than "passing mentions" articles about the subject, including interviews and features, and a good amount have been published both online and physically. There are more sources I would like to use such as the books the company is published or certain magazines that are not online but I am not sure how to get access to them or use them as a source. You can see more here that I cant properly source yet- http://theboomcase.com/press.

I based this wiki format based off a similar, now defunct, company BoomBotix (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boombotix) which has significantly less sources and the sources used are less notable than the ones used for BoomCase.

Do let me know what I need to add to get it past a draft.

Thank you.

@MistaKoko: hey. you shouldn't be sourcing your content to your own website, or youtube. versacespacetalk to me 11:09, 6 April 2021 (UTC)

Hi,

The website is not mine. So if I remove all sources from theboomcase.com and youtube it would be ok? How do I show something that is published on youtube? Such as the BoomCase was used in a music video if I can't use a youtube source? Should I just not include that in the article? Or like this one "In 2012 BoomCase was featured in an ad campaign for Bosch Power Tools across Europe" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4pzb_yVixc and http://theboomcase.com/bosch-prime-suspect-x-boomcase/ ) Just remove everything since I can find another source?

Thanks!

A request

Dear VersaceSpace,

Although I made an edit asking for a close, please do not comment on my case. I believe you would be biased and unable to come to an impartial judgement. Additionally, when your case closes (and I strongly believe it will), remember what happened to you and ponder it. Because there will come a time when you will want to press the publish button on ANI against someone you believed did you wrong. Reflect upon what happened over the past few days and hopefully you will decide to bring your concerns to a place where it is not a prosecution.

Blessings,

Yaakov W. Yaakov Wa. (talk) 03:07, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

@Yaakov Wa.: looking at your ANI (which I won't reply to per your wishes, although I'm certainly allowed to), there are currently six votes to topic ban you and only one vote which opposed such a move. Your attempts to grab the wheel of the ship in every discussion you come across is part of what caused this, so I seriously would suggest not doing this. Please worry about yourself. versacespaceleave a message! 03:28, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1

Hi VersaceSpace, I hope you're doing well. Regarding, Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1, which, after three days, I have just redirected back to Saweetie's discography as it doesn't warrant enough to be an article on its own; yes, the EP is notable as coverage by reliable sources exists, but an article with little less than an intro, one sentence in a section and a tracklist is not enough to warrant an article. This is the same as was the case at Visionland (album). Please kindly see WP:NALBUM, which says "Notability aside, a standalone article is only appropriate when there is enough material to warrant a reasonably detailed article; articles unlikely ever to grow beyond stubs should be merged into the artist's article or discograph". Creating stub articles that serves readers with little to nothing to read is not particularly helpful, try to expand them, put in more effort and add more sources/prose. Please take this into consideration when creating album articles in future. If you haven't yet, please also read WP:ALBUMSTYLE to get an understanding of what album/EP/mixtape articles require in article form. Thank you. AshMusique (talk) 09:26, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

@AshMusique: by labeling an article as having "less than an intro, one sentence in a section and a tracklist" you are essentially calling it a stub, which is allowed. Besides, Saweetie is a popular artist and I had the intention to expand the article soon, so please allow wiggle room here versacespaceleave a message! 16:15, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. D🐰ggy54321 (the Easter bunny has been summoned...) 02:43, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

Doggy54321 you should consider that the reversions were barely within the same 24 hour period and that I did the most recent edits after I woke up (I do believe we live in the same time zone?). Was a level 3 warning necessary. A general note would have sufficed. versacespacetalk to me 02:53, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
Well, if your timezone is UTC-04:00 (it's currently just after 11pm), then yes, we're in the same timezone. I don't choose the level of warning, as {{uw-3rr}} is a single-level warning template. I used it because I was looking through the Ariana Grande page history, and I realized you and Mirrored7 were reverting a lot. Long story short: Mirrored has had a long history of edit warring. I hate reporting at AN3, as I prefer a warning and a discussion after (hence this very thread), but I saw no other option for them as this behaviour has been demonstrated for six months straight, even after an ANI case where they were told by an admin to pretend the undo button doesn't exist. If you look at their edit history, you can see that that comment was pretty much disregarded. But, I thought it was a bit much to report you as well, as you aren't a regular edit warrior. Now, was that irresponsible? Don't know. Am I playing favourites? No. I haven't seen this behaviour from you before, and I thought a warning would suffice. After all, the final decision will be made by whoever decides to review my AN3 report, so we'll find out what happens to the both of you there (as I'm pretty sure someone is gonna catch onto your reverts as well). Thanks! D🐰ggy54321 (the Easter bunny has been summoned...) 03:04, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

@Tbhotch: I did three reversions? No more and no less. No policy was violated. versacespaceleave a message! 01:58, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
You clearly are gaming the system with that comment. From the template above, that you just received twice this month alone: "Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule". You were asked to stop enough times and look for consensus on the talk page on negative allegation about a legally active living person, yet, you continued again. If you are not going to follow WP:Consensus, you are not Wikipedia:Here to build an encyclopedia. (CC) Tbhotch 02:01, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
@Tbhotch: not a violation of wp:gaming at all, that's a very serious accusation for you to impose. I was never told to stop doing anything. In fact, I was drafting up a discussion on the talk page of the article in question (which I assume is what you want). Anyway, I didn't violate any policy and gave (in my opinion) valid reasons for every revert I did. Not edit warring. versacespaceleave a message! 02:10, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

Moving pages out of the way to accommodate a page you created

In future, please just ask for your draft to be moved at WP:RM/TR, or ask an admin directly. Don't move around redirects. If certain admins see you doing this, they won't take kindly to it. Some feel very strongly about convoluting page histories by moving redirects around the place. Moving Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine to Roadrunner:New Light, New Machine then that to Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine (album), then moving the redirects you made to other places was entirely unnecessary and messy. Just ask an admin to move your draft in future. Thanks. Ss112 00:41, 9 April 2021 (UTC)

Hi VerssaceSpace! I'm new to wikipedia and do not know how to properly use it. I have trouble looking for things to edit and other tools. Unlike Wikihow, there is no "Tools Page" with all the tools. Thank you! TheReptileCatcher (talk) 15:10, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

@TheReptileCatcher: i'd absolutely love to! judging by your message, you need help with certain templates. Is that correct? versacespaceleave a message! 15:18, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
What do you mean by templetes? TheReptileCatcher (talk) 15:57, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
@TheReptileCatcher: to perform the large majority of actions on Wikipedia you need to use templates. For example, {\big|chosen text\} (replacing the slashes with brackets) creates (chosen text). There are many others and you see them everywhere on Wikipedia, even on this talk page! versacespaceleave a message! 16:05, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
@TheReptileCatcher: looking at your edits, I see you've created a draft called "the world of caterpillars". There are multiple issues with this draft.
1. We already have an article on caterpillars, so another shouldn't be made.
2. You shouldn't attempt to make a title for your article that feels "extravagant". If you were to make an article about caterpillars (which you shouldn't, since we have one), you should name it "caterpillars" and not "the world of caterpillars".
3. Your entire draft is in bold font. Only the name of the subject should be in bold, with some very rare exceptions.
versacespaceleave a message! 16:22, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
Ok. That's good to know.
Can i add some of the information to the article that already exists? TheReptileCatcher (talk) 16:52, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

Questions from Adoptee

@VersaceSpace: So I just realized that the person who gave me a barnstar is blocked indefinitly, should I remove that barnstar from my user and talk pages? Also, do you think I qualify for cvua yet? Btw, just let me know if I'm asking too much questions or being annoying. Thanks, AnApple47 (talk) 16:34, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

@AnApple47: you don't have to, but it probably wouldn't be a very good look on you to keep it, so I would remove it. I assume by "CVUA" you mean the counter vandalism unit academy? It seems you are not ready as you need 200 mainspace (article) edits to join. versacespaceleave a message! 17:34, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

Early AfD closures

Why did you close Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chah-e Soltan, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Elisabeth Schjenken, and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Hive (server) before the normal seven day period? – Lord Bolingbroke (talk) 16:36, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

Your closure of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Super Simple Songs is completely out of line. Please revert and refrain from closing any more AfDs, as many of your recent closures have been inappropriate. – Lord Bolingbroke (talk) 16:54, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
@Lord Bolingbroke: hi. Thanks for the message. I'm going to revert three of the closes you mentioned, but I'd like to keep the Chah-e Soltan close the way it is since it's a disambiguation page and the basis of the nomination is no longer valid. What I won't do is "stop closing any more AfDs", instead I'll simply close them after the seven-day period, barring speedy closes. versacespaceleave a message! 17:38, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
What about Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Julia Jamieson, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Drew Binsky, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Paranoia (Pop Smoke song), Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Maharaja's College Stadium, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mohammed El-Kurd (where you essentially did a supervote), Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Amadou Gallo Fall (really?), and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The House (Porches album) (which you closed as "keep" despite the nominator having withdrawn the nom)? They should all be reverted. I strongly echo Lord Bolingbroke's request that you stop closing AfDs. --bonadea contributions talk 17:59, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
How about per your own accord, just cease and desist from NAC's? that is, unless you want the community to force you to. Have you even bothered to go through BADNAC? Celestina007 (talk) 19:03, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
  • Bonadea, Celestina007, Lord Bolingbroke, I've changed WP:Articles for deletion/The House (Porches album) to speedy keep since the nominator withdrew, reopened WP:Articles for deletion/Paranoia (Pop Smoke song) and changed back to the article from the redirect, and reopened all the other nominations. My apologies, it was an honest mistake. My firm stance on my involvement in NACs is that it's unnecessary to stop doing them completely, if you think otherwise you can go to ANI and discuss t-banning me from NAC-closes, but it's really unnecessary in my opinion, I've read the essay linked and I've looked at the criteria for closing discussions again, and mistakes like these won't happen again. I was toying around with XFDCloser since I wanted to learn how to use it and how to close discussions, so in a normal day I would never close that many discussions. versacespaceleave a message! 20:42, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

In addition to the disruption it caused, your early closures and then undos of those closures have had the effect of removing many of these AfDs from the deletion sorting pages where likely participants might find them. I've fixed that for Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Julia Jamieson, restoring it to the four deletion sorting pages where it had already been listed and then archived, but you might want to take the effort to do the same thing for all the other AfDs affected by this. —David Eppstein (talk) 20:48, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

@David Eppstein: thank you. I've never been in this situation before so I don't really know how to do this. Would I just add the contents of the discussions back to those pages? versacespaceleave a message! 20:51, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
No. Deletion sorting pages are listed by transclusion, not by copying contents. The removals of the AfDs from the deletion sorting pages were made by AnomieBOT after the bot discovered that the AfDs had been closed. It is these removals that need to be undone. —David Eppstein (talk) 21:41, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
@David Eppstein: ok. I think I understand now. Adding these two brackets {{ to both sides of the page title will add the entire contents of the page, just like a template, and this is a transclusion? I know what they are but I've never done one myself since usually it is a bot that will do this. versacespaceleave a message! 22:28, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
No, they are usually added to deletion sorting pages by human edits, not bots. The bots remove them again when the discussions are closed. —David Eppstein (talk) 23:15, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
I wasn't talking about the deletion sorting, I meant transcluding in general. versacespaceleave a message! 01:01, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

Establishing academic institution notoriety

Hi John. Thank you again for checking my AfC so fast. I have made ammendments to the article, and before re-submitting it for review I'm wondering if the challenges to the subject's notoriety aren't better clarified by mentioning that it's an academic institution, with hundreds of articles about its work published in leading, high impact-factor, peer-reviewed scientific journals (which I argument serves to establish its academic notoriety). My issue is: I don't want to make the argument in the article body via citation overkill. What do you recommend I do about this? Cheers ! Ferkijel (talk) 14:53, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Ashwarya, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". "Baddest"

Hi - I see you've redirected this song. I've thought for a while that this song is completely not notable and said so to the article creator, who I'm sure will revert this back. My problem with a redirect is that WP:XY comes into play here... Imanbek also has an article, and has had a no. 1 song more recently than Cher Lloyd, so arguably this would be a more relevant redirect. Anyway, I think if your redirect gets reverted, it's going to have to go to AfD. Richard3120 (talk) 22:50, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi there Richard3120! I have no issue with you changing the target of the redirect. I've watchlisted the page so if I get reverted AfD is the next step. Happy editing! versacespaceleave a message! 23:03, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
I'm not going to change it, but if it does go to AfD, I'll vote for delete for the reasons I give above. The creator seems keen on having articles for everything to do with Cher Lloyd, and has admitted that they have contact with her management team. But I'll wait and see how this plays out. Just wanted to warn you that I fully expect this to be reverted. Richard3120 (talk) 23:06, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
Richard3120, yes. I fully agree. And it isn't just Cher, there seems to be some others too. versacespaceleave a message! 23:09, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

Edit request: Distractify

Hi,

Thanks for creating an article about Distractify. I'm one of the founders, and just want to request that my name be spelled "Yakun", as in "Yakun" is my legal first name.

If you want, you can write Yakun (Quinn) Hu. Quinn was a colloquial name. Reach out to me at yakunhu@buffalo.edu if you have any follow-up questions. I'm new to Wikipedia so I might not check the notifications.

@Yakunhu: hi! Wikipedia echoes what reliable sources say about the subject. The sources I picked refer to you as "Quinn Hu". Of course, if you can provide a reliable source which refers to you as "Yakun" (preferably a link to a website), I'd be happy to change your name in the article. Omnicell draft review

I declined a speedy deletion as I think its assets of over a billion dollars are a credible enough claim to significance, yet I'm still surprised that you approved the draft of Omnicell. Step 2 in Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Reviewing instructions requires a check of notability, based on independent reliable sources and in this case WP:NCORP, and I don't see that kind of sourcing - it relies on press releases. Ah ok. First of all, thank you for adopting me and taking the time! I appreciate that. Secondly though, I wanted to keep some of that stuff in there -- mostly her acting debut and info on the "Next Level" film. I think that's very relevant to her popularity.

Also, how do I add a photo of her? I made an attempt but it was taken down due to copyright. Thanks.

73.75.228.17 (talk) 14:20, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

@73.75.228.17: @Dannjay69: hello. first of all, it look like you forgot to log-in, as your IP is showing and not your username. I suggest logging in. I'm also unsure what you meant when you thanked me for "adopting" you. Editors help other editors all the time, that doesn't, on its own, constitute adoption. Of course, if you want me to adopt you as a user, I can, but that would be a full runthrough of how Wikipedia works, and I doubt you want that, I think you just want this article published, which is understandable. The way the article was written, it was sourced to unreliable websites like Nicki Swift, therefore I removed all of that. There are virtually no reliable, independent sources talking about Orlando. For biographies of living persons there almost always has to be a source talking about the subject at hand. However, to satisfy the notability guideline for actors, you need to have multiple roles in important shows/films. Orlando is lucky, because she has three of these roles. Technically, for what you want an article of hers' to be written about, she should not even have an article, but since she's had some roles, she barely, and I mean barely qualifies for an article. I left the fact that her sibling is Johnny Orlando because that's important. Now, images. Wikipedia cannot use just any image, you need to use one that satisfies the criteria for fair use images. The easiest example is that you have taken the picture. If you have other questions feel free to ask me! versacespaceleave a message! 14:49, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

Apologies and Noted. I may continue to write more articles but I guess there's no need for an "adoption" at this point. My goal was to create one for Lauren. I feel like there's a LOT of people/things that barely qualify for an article but are on here! As for the picture, I definitely don't have one of her I personally took so I'd have to borrow from Google, which isn't allowed. Maybe she doesn't need one then. Thank you.

Dannjay69 (talk) 15:01, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

@Dannjay69: okay, no image then. would you like me to move the article to the mainspace for you? that's how articles are published here. if you plan to add anything else, it needs to be adequately sourced. versacespaceleave a message! 15:05, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

WP:Adoption

Hi, I would like to become a adopter, I've noticed your name on the adopter list and wanted to ask a few questions.

  • In the Criteria section under the adopter's area, there is "Adopters should have sufficient experience before they start adopting.", how much experience is enough experience?
  • What are some tips you can give to a new adopter?
  • Do you mainly talk to your adoptees on talk pages or on other texting/messaging platforms?
Justiyaya (talk) 14:38, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
Justiyaya, Hi there. "Sufficient experience" means you should have an understanding of Wikipedia's core rules and policies, as well as practically full knowledge on the manual of style, templates, and tables. Tips you'll want to provide to adoptees vary from person-to-person, although it should always be made clear that they understand the most basic things about Wikipedia before they learn any complexities. You can talk to adoptees on any platform, but Wikipedia should be your primary method. versacespaceleave a message! 14:46, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
Thanks, I think I have sufficient experience... If I have any more questions about being an adopter I'll come to you, thanks. Justiyaya (talk) 15:21, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Hey! I saw that you reverted my redirection of You Right, and, per WP:BRD, now we discuss. While your point about the fact that the song will be released in seven days is true, we still do not have a definite date on when it will be independently released. That is why, in my edit summary redirecting the page, I said We should wait until a date is announced before making a page, referring to the independent release date, or the date the song becomes a single. Thanks! D🐶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 11:35, 19 June 2021 (UTC) (please ping on reply)

Hi Doggy54321, thank you for the message. My interpretation of your reasoning for redirection was probably different than yours, so I'll explain myself. I think that as it stands the song is already independently notable (per WP:NMUSIC), and in my view it's quite clear that this song is the next single. Obviously Wikipedia isn't a crystal ball but we're talking a few days, not weeks or months or years. versacespaceleave a message! 18:33, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
You're welcome! I now understand your viewpoint as well, thank you for that explanation. The song will be released in five days (although not as a single, so the "released" parameter will stay empty), so the page will be able to have reception and composition sections, which is usually what AFC reviewers look for before passing an article. Since there is significant coverage otherwise, I'm happy to leave it for now. Lastly, we technically are talking weeks and months. The latest date Doja Cat could release this song as a single is December 31, which is six and a half months away. It's ultimately up to how she wants the album rollout to go, but I do think that it will come in the next month. Thanks! D🐶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 22:55, 19 June 2021 (UTC)

When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met.

If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article nominations, a featured process, or anything else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. DYK for Need to Know (Doja Cat song)

On 8 July 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Need to Know (Doja Cat song), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Doja Cat and her directors used Blade Runner and The Fifth Element as reference points while making the music video for "Need to Know"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Need to Know (Doja Cat song). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Need to Know (Doja Cat song)), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
