Aggie Bonfire

Hi Viking97. I've requested input from the Texas A&M Wikiproject as to whether we should include the list of names of those who died in the 1999 Bonfire collapse or not. There is a request for comment at the Aggie Bonfire talk page. Like all Aggies, I mourn those who died in the collapse, but I believe we should follow the example of wikipedia articles on similar tragedies and not include the names of the dead. Please feel free to leave your counterargument on the talk page, and we'll see if we gain a consensus one way or the other from the members of the project. Karanacs 17:26, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

There are rules on Wikipedia of which I don't agree with. One of them is WP:NOT#MEMORIAL, which forbids mentioning the fallen unless they meet the notability criteria. Karanacs bought up that the survivors of the WTC bombing were not listed, which is an example of how rules should apply. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
