Speedy deletion of Finney ross[edit]

A tag has been placed on Finney ross requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Excirial (Talk,Contribs) 18:41, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of FINNEY ROSS[edit]

A tag has been placed on FINNEY ROSS, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

Finney Ross[edit]

Hello and thank you for participating in Wikipedia. It looks like you got a pretty rough welcome! The standard mantra is Don't bite the newbies but that's theory and not always practice. But it looks like you've survived the onslaught and so has your article on Finney Ross. As an administrator, I am able to delete articles (and undelete them, even deleted articles are available to administrator accounts and deletion can be overturned) and in my evaluation, the article did not deserve deletion. But as I noted, it needed cleanup the the tone was inappropriately glorifying. User Dominik92 (talk · contribs) has already done an extensive cleanup: he has removed much of the material but this does not mean that you can't re-add it if you do so carefully and if you make sure that the article remains neutral in tone. Also, it's always good to make sure that most (if not all) of the material included is properly sourced so that it can be verified by other readers. I've also added categories to the article, which means there's a greater chance that others will access it and possibly help in its development. Cheers, Pascal.Tesson (talk) 19:39, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rheumatoid arthritis[edit]

I have temporarily removed your addition to rheumatoid arthritis. There are good grounds for mentioning Lyme disease, but you made the mistake of mentioning it in the wrong section and in a format that is not quite ideal.

If you want to discuss Lyme, we need a short section on the differential diagnosis of symmetrical polyarthritis, which is much longer than just RA and Lyme. I would not discuss the history of Lyme on the RA page at all - this belongs on the Lyme page. Finally, I would be careful not to overemphasise Lyme in this context. I can assure you that in non-endemic areas it is not common practice to test for Lyme disease in people with an erosive polyarthritis; exceptions would be rheumatoid factor negativity, lack of response to therapy and unambiguous history of a tick bite or erythema migrans.

Let me know if you want to discuss this further. JFW | T@lk 21:38, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article Finney Ross has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

The {{holdon}} template is meant for pages that are nominated per WP:CSD, which this is not. I moved your post in the AFD due to technical reasons, so please feel free to change the comment if necessary. MrKIA11 (talk) 04:51, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Finney Ross, a page you created has not been edited in at least 180 days. Your article submission Finney Ross[edit]

Hello Vintagedirtbiker. It has now been over six months since you last edited your article submission, entitled Finney Ross.

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note, however, that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Finney Ross}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Michaelzeng7 (talk) 19:55, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A heads-up[edit]

I saw the discussion at WP:ANI#Admin Abuse. Was the article in question Finney Ross?

And that is someone different than Ross Lee Finney?

You could ask an administrator to email you the last version of your article, and then re-create it at a non-WMF wiki, with less strict inclusion criteria. Many non-WMF wikis don't support any of the templates, like {{cite}}, that modern wiki articles depend upon. But some support a reasonable cross-section.

Email me, and I will tell you more about the non-WMF wikis I have used.

References...

I did a google news search for "Finney Ross" Leathersmith OR knife OR Rodeo OR Cowboy

A search like this is the first thing someone will do if they try to independently refute or confirm whether Finney Ross measures up to our inclusion criteria. Do you have some references you think support his notability?

Cheers! Geo Swan (talk) 00:40, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Geo Swan, Did you receive my lengthy reply? Thank you! Todd DavisVintagedirtbiker (talk) 01:47, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Masumrezarock100! I will try my best to understand how to use the "DIFF". As explained previously, I suffer from Aphasia which makes comprehension very difficult. It will take me some time to go though all the screen shots to get the names from 2008 and then to try and use the "Diff" that I have been instructed to do. I do appreciate your patience and courtesy! Best, Todd DavisVintagedirtbiker (talk) 05:49, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It have nothing to do with providing diff or not. The "incident" and message was happened in 2008, 11 year ago, and the article was deleted in 2011, 8 years ago. All you need is read and consider to collect solid news article as citation to rewrite an article for the person "Finney Ross". And possibly follows someone else advice, start as a draft at Draft:Finney Ross instead, which once the draft was written, someone else would comment it. And at that time please read that comment and make improvement (or accept that fact that may be wikipedia is not a directory. ) Matthew hk (talk) 06:06, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Vintagedirtbiker: Looking at earlier entries on this page, I see you had created Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Finney Ross. Is that the last place you were working on the article? If so, the easiest thing would probably be to see if that can be undeleted. It could then be moved to the now more conventional Draft:Finney Ross so that others wanting to help could find it easily. RHaworth deleted it simply because it hadn't been worked on for a while; draft articles are deleted for that reason. Would it save you some time if that version was restored? Or do you have a more recent text? Yngvadottir (talk) 05:55, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
