Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. —Skyllfully (talk | contribs) 20:52, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you @skyllfully and @neigh for helping me with my user page! — Preceding unsigned comment added by WaterViper (talkcontribs) 20:17, 7 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. The 'Neigh' in my name, though, takes you to my talk page. Just an FYI. ☺ White Arabian mare (Neigh) 01:59, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Some tips for you[edit]

Since you like vipers, you may want to see if there's a WikiProject for them or reptiles in general, see Wikipedia:WikiProject Directory. If there is, you can join and help make good viper articles. By the way, when you mention people's names on your page, you can ensure they see it by writing their name like this: [[User:Example|Example]]. It will automatically send them a notice that their name was mentioned on another page. If you have any questions, just send me a talk page message by clicking on the word 'Neigh' after my name. 🐍 White Arabian mare (Neigh) 14:13, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

New deal for page patrollers[edit]

Hi WaterViper,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
