Master of Arts

Please don't disambiguate "Master of Arts" in cases where there is no really appropriate target article. A 19th century Swedish or Finnish magister degree, or a medieval degree from Paris should not link to an article about a modern UK and US postgraduate degree. It is better to let these articles link to the dab page until appropriate target articles have been created. See my previous comments at Talk:Master of Arts. As you will notice there is a list there of articles (and there are probably many more) which now link wrongly because of earlier "disambiguation" work. Uppland 19:37, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Visionhealth

Hi, this visionhealth page is not COPYRIGHT. The information was used with permission, by the copyright owners of the Visionhealth site (of which I am one!). When the first Visionhealth entry was put on wikipedia, we oked the use of our VH logo, some images and the text.

Hi. Thanks for the information. When I tagged the article, I didn't see that Wikipedia had permission to use the text. Since your message, I went to the Copyright Problems page (Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2006 December 13/Articles) and noted that you contacted me, giving permission (see here). I have also sent an email to Visionhealth as you suggested. When I receive an email back, giving permission, I will post it on the talk page, which will help matters. Unfortunately, I think the power is out of my hands for now — I believe that I'm not allowed to directly edit the article until an administrator looks at it. Lindenholzhausen

Hi Wayne, being a Brit living in Germany for 30 years and having a close relationship to Lindenholzhausen, I have taken your cleanup-tag seriously and have started cleaning up and extending the article. One disavantage of living in a foreign country for such a long time is that one sort of loses touch with one's native tongue. I notice that you called it quits (for today) around citation 36. Feel free ask me if you have any questions about anything. I did my best trying to reformat those, but you've far surpassed my abilities. I did have one question you might be able to help with. I've discovered that Hornsby has 42 live albums released for mail order or digital download via the website brucehornsbylive.com. I've added a list of those to his discography article, but that seems like a kind of long addition to the main article. I was wondering if I could list, as I have done, a link saying something like "42 albums released", and then link directly to that segment of the discography. It's under Bruce_Hornsby_discography, the first section is Bruce_Hornsby_Albums, and then I've called the live section Bruce_Hornsby_Live_Releases...is there a way the link from the main article could take a reader to that precise part of the discography article? Ah, ok, I see what you're trying to do. You have subheadings like "with the Range" that you're making with plain old text. I think if you turn those into actual subheadings, the link will start to work. You'll want to take a look at Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings) for details. In short, you want to start an article with "level 2" headings. to make a level 2 heading, you type two = characters, type the name of the heading, and type two more = characters. (For instance, the Bruce Hornsby article has a section denoted by == Solo years ==.) If you want to nest headings, you then use "level 3" headers, which use three = characters on each side. (For instance, the Bruce Hornsby "Solo Years" section has a subheading denoted by === Hornsby & the Grateful Dead ===.) I'm not explaining it very well, but you want to turn things like

===[[Bruce Hornsby]] Albums===

into

==[[Bruce Hornsby]] Albums==

and things like

::'''with The Range'''

into

===With The Range===

I hope this helps for now. I'll try to give you some more help later on. (I'm at work, so I have less time for editing.  :) Anyway, I think Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings) will give you the information you need.

Disambigutiing links to MA

I have been working to disambiguate the links to the MA page, and have gotten it down to a handfull that I do not know where it needs to be disambiguated to. Oh yeah, MA is a kind of tough one. One thing to watch out for is any kind of abbreviation for "Master of Arts". Master of Arts can can be a modern postgraduate degree, a Scottish undergraduate degree, a sort of in-between British and Irish degree, or a medieval degree for which there's not really an article yet. (If you scroll up on this page, you'll see that I had some trouble with these degrees a while back.)

Looking at the links, it looks like most things should link to one of the degrees or to Mega-annum (or just Annum) — something like "5.5 Ma" in a geological article typically means "5.5 millions of years ago" and should link to Mega-annum. I'll try to go through some of these later today, but don't worry if we have to leave some un-disambiguated (er, I guess "ambiguous" is the right word). Hello there, I am a fellow member of Wikiproject jazz. I was wondering, if you had a moment to spare, if you would be willing to give your opinion on a matter at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 June 15 concerning a category I created. The category is [[Category:Jazz musicians of New Orleans]], and it has been proposed that the article be merged with Musicians of New Orleans and American jazz musicians. This is precisely why I created the category, because it seemed to me the birthplace of jazz music and continous modern symbol of jazz certainly deserves a category unto itself. Please see Category:Jazz musicians by genre to familiarize yourselves with the new categories for jazz musicians. Most of the genre categories contain sub-genres in their drop-down menus, so be sure to open them up! I am sending this to everyone to speed up the population of these categories. The sub-genres have been carefully researched to ensure they belong under their corresponding "mother genre"! And please, when in doubt do not categorize something via an assumption.
