FYI. TimothyJosephWood 18:32, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

@Timothyjosephwood: @Widr: On this subject, I've noticed several more new articles regarding some sort of -ware-testing and I've been able to find the original sources (and report) but I believe one of the more recent articles, Configuration/Hardware Testing is copied from a text book. What is WP protocol for that? Chrissymad ❯❯❯ Talk 19:41, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
There's a thread at ANI now, you can post there. Widr (talk) 19:45, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

Hey, I just started editing and just found twinkle - whoever invented this is a genius. Now I don't have to type out vandalism warnings! Tesla (talk) 16:13, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

Good to hear, Tesla. I agree, it's one of the most useful tools around here. Widr (talk) 20:57, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

Hi Widr, you temporarily blocked this guy for disruptive editing. I think this edit [1] is a legal threat and enough for an indef block, don't you? --Drm310 (talk) 18:42, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

Hi Widr. I saw that post and was going to ask you the same, but I see you've already indef'd the account. Is there any point now in posting a {{uw-legal}} on the editor's user talk, just so that they are now aware of why the block has been upgraded? Also, since the "legal threat" post was about uploaded images and the images were uploaded to Commons, it might still be possible for the editor edit on Commons and request they be deleted as the author of the files per c:COM:DR. Would it be appropriate to post that information on their user talk even though they no longer can respond to it? -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:17, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

You can do that if you wish. Legal threat was just part of the general vandalism for which I blocked them. Widr (talk) 06:43, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarification. I posted something there that hopefully is OK. -- Marchjuly (talk) 08:02, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

User talk:Louis J.T

Hi Widr, Hope all is well,
Could you move User talk:Louis J.T back to User talk:Louisjt please, The editor had moved their talkpage and now they seem to have 2 talkpages, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 18:08, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

Should be done now. Widr (talk) 18:13, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

Construction management

What are your thoughts on these edits on Construction management? They seem useful but some border on promo. Chrissymad ❯❯❯ Talk

But not overly so? Anyway, the main issue was the username, and that's dealt with now. I'll leave the rest to you (or others). Widr (talk) 18:46, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

Hello,

I saw that you blocked this user for 31 days due to disruptive editing. He has commenced disruptive editing again.

Do you mind looking at User talk:66.186.240.49 and Special:Contributions/66.186.240.49. I reverted the Edward B. Kramer edits. And the Faulkner edit looks to be a good one, a spelling correction. But since this IP user has already been blocked for disruptive editing, I thought I'd bring it to your attention.

I will go through the user's October and November contributions and just double-check that there are no other issues since the last block that need to be reverted.

Thanks!!--CaroleHenson (talk) 22:30, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

Blocked for 2 weeks. It was 31 hours last time, though. Widr (talk) 22:36, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
Thanks, I finished checking October and November, and the edits that were disruptive were reverted. I'm not sure about one edit so I posted a message on the article talk page.
Thanks so much!--CaroleHenson (talk) 22:41, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

Running Man

Please stop putting 7012 beside the members' names as it means nothing else except for "7 running men forever". Putting their starting year and ending year makes more sense than putting 7012 so please stop. CO16 (talk) 16:00, 16 December 2016 (UTC)

Widr, could you check these "contributions"? I'm not quite sure if anything needs to be done about this IP or not, but I thought I'd make an admin waware of them. Thanks. - BilCat (talk) 06:08, 22 December 2016 (UTC)

Rainyboy 1981

I see you recently blocked Rainyboy 1981 because of the disruptive editing of removing a person's birth date from a public page. I don't think that user realized the problems that could come by publishing the same person's email address on a public page. Could you please redact it from User talk:Rainyboy 1981#Bahar Pars 2? Encoreameya

It seems that you denied blocking 88marcus, I updated Unbreakable US sales to 253,000 and on that none had problem. But when I updated Janet as Queen of Pop based on VH1 poll, her complete sales to 160 million according to Billboard, Control selling 14 million again according to Billboard, Rhythm nation selling 20 million according to Entertainment Weekly, Janet album selling 20 million according to ABC, Number ones tour grossing $60 million according to Showbiz411; the user 88marcus reverted all of my edits. I don't understand the reason why did you not take any action against him? He's been deflating Janet Jackson achievements at every level. He changed Control sales to 10 million, Rhythm nation to 12 million and Janet to 14 million, and I believe the reason behind him doing that is he is a Madonna fan, and he's using rivalry between both the artists to deflate Janet's achievements. There're also few other users who are manipulating Janet Jackson pages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Encoreameya (talkcontribs) 20:17, 24 December 2016 (UTC)

How about discussing these issues on the article's talk page as you should, instead of reporting to AIV? You both have been reporting each other there lately, even though AIV is meant for clear-cut vandalism only. Widr (talk) 20:22, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
I apologize for irritation. I am new to Wikipedia. I talked with that user on respective articles' talk pages but he's constantly trying to put sources which are outdated. I don't know what is his problem. He's been constantly reverting my edits despite providing latest verifiable sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Encoreameya (talkcontribs) 20:35, 24 December 2016 (UTC)

IP address you recently blocked

The IP address you recently blocked, 188.187.38.75, could be a sockpuppet. They could be connected to this address. Can you do a range block? Thanks! RileyBugzYell at me | Edits 22:37, 22 December 2016 (UTC)

Sorry, I messed up! You can't range block it, I originally thought the only difference was the 180 at the end. Sorry lol! RileyBugzYell at me | Edits 17:17, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

Hi yeah I was wondering if you could undo the write protection on Christmas With The Kranks I tried putting down info about JonTron making a change to the page but it keeps being deleted. Could you redo the revision on it or allow access to it to me? Much appreciate thanks! (Oh and can you allow access to rewrite on pages to User:99.192.30.114 please? Thanks again!) TimAllansCreator (talk) 00:26, 26 December 2016 (UTC)

Oh sorry to reply again, that address was wrong it's User:99.192.30.115 TimAllansCreator (talk) 00:31, 26 December 2016 (UTC)

Me again, you're probably busy with the holidays and all but you are banning (or, least your bot is) unnecessary IP addresses for adding legitment statuses/detail. It's probably a bug in the code but just a heads up. The articles I'm referring to are Johnson Amendment Christmas with the krank's and Islamaic revolutionary Court TimAllansCreator (talk) 05:20, 27 December 2016 (UTC)

Recent block

Could I get an explanation for why 107.191.0.173 was blocked? They appear to have been reverting the vandalism by the other IP you blocked, not restoring it. If 107.191.0.173 really is a zombie proxy or somehow connected to the rapidly reverting IP vandal, could you please confirm? Altamel (talk) 22:32, 27 December 2016 (UTC)

Unblocked, thanks for catching. The bot reported both of these IPs, and I got mixed up. There have been lots of zombies around lately. Widr (talk) 22:42, 27 December 2016 (UTC)

File:Committee.jpg listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect File:Committee.jpg. Since you had some involvement with the File:Committee.jpg redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:20, 28 December 2016 (UTC)

ANI trolling?

Hi Widr; could you take a look at this please? A rather bizarre form of (near?-)trolling / edit-warring on a thread about that editor. If not no worries- there's no rush for the thread to conclude I imagine. Cheers, O Fortuna!...Imperatrix mundi. 17:32, 29 December 2016 (UTC)

Supersonic transport troll

...has struck again at Airbus A350 XWB, and again from a different IP. Sigh. - BilCat (talk) 22:41, 30 December 2016 (UTC)

The IP has been blocked, but semi-protection on the article may still be needed. We have over 15,000 aircraft articles on WP, with the majority of them being subsonic. I sure hope the troll isn't going to do this on all of them! - BilCat (talk) 22:44, 30 December 2016 (UTC)

Protected that one too. Widr (talk) 22:53, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
Thanks. They're editing several other articles now from this IP address. The IPs appear to be from several different locations, so I doubt a range block would be effective. - BilCat (talk) 03:38, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

Bread Salt Sugar 88

This blocked Evlekis sock is abusing their talk page with insults of you, I tagged with attack CSD. WNYY98 (talk) 21:08, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

A lot of already blocked socks have been doing that sort of thing lately. @Bbb23: A few days ago you blocked several Evlekis socks. Would you mind re-blocking these accounts without talk page access? Sro23 (talk) 21:12, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
@Sro23: I need a list with links, please.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:19, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
@Bbb23: Other than Dumfounded watsD, I wouldn't know, considering all you said was that you found several other socks. However, I went through your block logs from the day we had that conversation. I think the only socks left with talkpage access enabled are Matrix Maker, Barry Bubbles, Figrolls Filly, Deutschville, Jon Boy Percy Pecker, and Jibble Jabble. Sro23 (talk) 00:27, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
@Sro23: I didn't realize it would be so much work. You shouldn't have bothered. I looked at each of the ones you listed, and I don't see any Talk page activity of any kind. Although I sometimes preemptively block talk page access with certain masters, Evlekis being one, I don't see the point of doing it now.--Bbb23 (talk) 01:09, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
But Evlekis has a history of returning to old blocked sock accounts for talk page abuse. Just in the past couple of days there was User talk:Mark the Jack, User talk:Oliver Open Book, User talk:576polish, User talk:Osterrich, User talk:Givans Irish, User talk:Wash Bosh, User talk:Bazsorc and probably more I'm missing. I think that warrants pre-emptive revoking of TPA. Sro23 (talk) 01:22, 1 January 2017 (UTC)

IP edit warring and harrassing user

IP 101.182.29.49 has targeted one single user seen in their history here and reverting every edit the user made across several articles and starting edit wars. IP is also editing disruptively, making mass reverts, edit warring and harassment at other user's talkpages. Also giving out bogus warnings like this. Reported to AIV was told it was wrong place. IP is also possibly a sock of this IP which is a confirmed sock of this user. The IP is now filing false reports on the user they are harrassing as seen here Chris "WarMachineWildThing" Talk to me 02:37, 1 January 2017 (UTC)

Report is legitimate. This note is defending a vandal who is inserting unsourced information into many articles and should be ignored. It is not harassment to warn users when they violate the rules. User has a previous history of disruptive behaviour - see his talk page. 101.182.29.49 (talk) 06:05, 1 January 2017 (UTC)

And the sock returns, still following me around huh? Report isnt legit as its a content dispute that you have with every editor who adds the same content with a source. You've disputed it with 4 different editors, you then edit war over it and then try to get the other users blocked. Same routine Everytime and it never works. Chris "WarMachineWildThing" Talk to me 08:48, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
